A word from Bar Lola - Boston
It is the philosophy of BarLola, where one can simultaneously drink, enjoy Spanish music, mingle, and eat ones way round a wonderful gastronomic spectrum. It is our goal to make sure that we only serve authentic dishes that are as close to the original presentation and taste as those you would find in different regions of Spain. We have a fantastic selection of wines, cavas, beers, and other signature cocktails to accompany your meal. We make every effort to ensure that the majority of our key ingredients are imported from Spain. Our kitchen team members come from Spain, descendants of Spain or of Latin ancestry to ensure authenticity and standards. ***NOTE: Every Sunday evening we have live Flamenco shows Sunday Night at 8pm. Please note that there is a $20 minimum per person (toward food and drink) for the show. It will be assumed that all reservations made 7pm and 8pm are for the show. The food seems a bit "hit or miss"; some things were amazing (portabello ravioli) but other dishes were really disappointing (the paella was dry and flavorless). The sangria was excellent, but the dessert (cheesecake) felt like a frozen dessert you would buy and wasn't worth finishing. I would prefer more consistency with a restaurant.

My wife and I found this restaurant in Boston and we wanted to go during the flamenco dance show they have on Sundays. I could not believe how great the environment and food were but also how beautiful and entertaining the flamenco bailaores y musician were during the show. At the end of the show, my wife and I were even able to talk to one of the bailaores because they even come to your tables and talk to you, it just makes a great night a perfect night!!!It was much better than we thought it would be and not only we are coming back but it has become one of our favourite places to go to. 10/10 for BarLola!!!

Great tapas restaurant. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar. Bartenders are outstanding: attentive and friendly. The menu has a variety of tapas, suitable for vegetarians as well as the meat eaters among us. Wait staff is great, ambiance is fun.

We went on a weeknight and it was empty. We had to ask, but they put on the radio so there was some background noise. Food is pricey, but it's way better than Tapeo. Better food and better prices.

My boyfriend and I love tapas so we decided to try Bar Lola for a new experience. We went on a Sat. with a 9pm reservation but showed up early and figured we'd sit at the bar. The host said it would be no problem to seat us early, which was great! We tried 4 different tapas and each of them were delicious. I loved that you could get a small paella since most tapas restaurants only have big pans to share. It was fairly busy but there were definitely open tables and we felt ignored by out waiter. After we finished our drinks he didn't come back for over 15 mins for us to order more and then it took another 15 mins to get the drinks. He also took 10-15 mins to come back to clear the plates. Overall good experience besides the ser

My friend and I were in Boston for a conference, and we decided to go to nice restaurant the was out-of-the-way, and NOT a chain. I found Barlola, read the reviews and decided to make our reservations for Saturday night. We were very happy with BarLola and thoroughly enjoyed our evening! The food, the service, the atmosphere were top-notch. Our server Audrey couldn't been more helpful! I know where I'm going the next time I'm Boston!

  • Bar Lola has very good food
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 6/3/2012
Bar Lola has very good food and is at a great location, and so, it will survive and thrive whether we come again or not. However, from the very first impression after walking in with host/hostess to be seen, to the finger-pointing bar tender gesturing us toward a room, to the first greeting from our arm crossed waitress, words such as "cold"; "rude"; and "arrogant" come to mind. Because it was such a special occasion for a very special person, complaining and making a scene would be wrong. We stayed, and as the night went on, the food was indeed very good. Therefore, punishing a good cook for bad service is also not fair - coming from some one who served tables to make through college. A rather unfortunate combination....

Reserved a table for a group of 8 and it was a little tight but a lot of fun! We were a little set apart from the main dining room so we could all hear each other. The food and sangria were delicious. Only complaints were the price at the end of the night and the chandelier that was dusty above the table.

My biggest complaints were that the service was quite slow (no one came to our table for 10 minutes after being seated), and food was slow to arrive. In addition (we sat inside), there were several large tables of very loud women. I appreciate that they have a good time, but the full out screaming was inconsiderate of other patrons. Unfortunately, there was not one such table, but two. It was so loud that it was hard to hear my date, and in fact we rushed through our dinner to get out of the cackling and screaming noise. The food was great! Everything was delicious. I would go back for the food and hope that the patrons are more considerate. Management should have said something to the two dueling tables of extremely loud people.

Favorite dining experience of the long weekend in Boston. The sangria was very good--- not too sweet, but fruity enough to resemble the real thing. Service was equally as good. The menu was extensive, and our group of 6 tried 10 different items. Although it was all very good, we particularly enjoyed the chicken empanandas, bacon wrapped dates, scallops on a skewer and (can't remember the exact name)- the lobster in a crepe-- a total group favorite. If there was one to miss it would be the Spin Dip- good, but not unique to a foodie if you are interested in trying something you don't eat at a TGIF... Ambiance is terrific- more so if weather permitting you can dine outside on their sub ground level patio. Enjoy! We did.

Decent Tappas with a great atmosphere. Outdoor seating was quieter and good for a romantic evening. Indoor had a lively crowd with live music and dancers. The service was lacking. Our waitress was not friendly. We never did get one of the dishes we had ordered. She charged our credit card incorrectly and called us after we had returned to the hotel asking for the number so she could correct her mistake. With an improvement in service I would return.
