The website does not say that on Sunday it is brunch only and the patrons cannot order from the menu. The Sunday brunch was limited. We were surprised that the offerings were fewer than Simms Landing had offered. The service was excellent!

  • Overall, I was disappointed

Overall, I was disappointed by this restaurant. I had read about the great brunch, but I disagree. I thought the choices were limited. As a steakhouse, I thought the prime rib should have had a little less fat and a little more meat. I thought the orange juice tasted funny, and when I told the server, she checked with the chef who confirmed that the fresh squeezed juice was squeezed two days earlier, which explains why it was no longer tasting fresh squeezed. The view was good, but I would not recommend this place.

I see this little hill-top restaurant each time I travel to the mountains and always wonder if it's worth the stop. Now I know. The food, the service, and the ambiance just can't be beat. I certainly recommend this little gem to everyone.

We waited nearly 15 minutes after we were seated before a wait staff member came to our table. Lovely view. Food good (steaks very nice) but too pricey. This was our 1st time and was for special occasion. Doubtful if return. Not enough value for investment! Disappointing!

The prime rib was good. I guess I should have known better then to order fish in a steakhouse - the salmon was OK, not very moist. The shared side dish of cream corn was very good. The shared souffle was very impressive but very sweet. They recently remodeled & the decor was beautiful.

Food was fair, at best. Waiter was good, but overall the service made it a forgettable dining experience. Drinks were poured very short--a $12.50 martini should be a full sized drink. We will probably not return.

The food was much improved since our last visit. Like most people, I felt like Simms Landing was on a decline. It's good to see it reopen with more focus. The inside looks great. The bar area looks very inviting with a nice layout and multiple televisions. The service was very good. I would recommend it to people looking to entertain out of town guests. The soups were all very good (lobster bisque, french onion and gazapcho).

My wife and I met some friends at Simms Steakhouse for Sunday brunch before going to the football game. I made the reservation using OpenTable for the first time and it worked great. I requested a table by a t.v. so we could watch the early game. One was waiting for us when we got in the door with a view of the t.v. and with a panoramic view of Denver! The service people were very nice and the food was great. I think I had a little of everything on the buffet and was not disappointed, especially the chocolate fountain with strawberries and marshmallows. Delicious!

My boyfriend and I spent our 2yr anniversary here for dinner. I never thought in a million years I would ever eat snail. Not only that but this was a great place for notable memories, I made reservations on Opentable and noted it was our anny and when we recieved our menus they said HAPPY ANNIVERSARY on the top, and a table next to us had one that said Happy Birthday. Anyways aside from the food being amazing! The wine list AMAZING! and lets not forget the beautiful SCENIC view of Denver. Lets just say this place is worth every cent and memory.

We had a wonderful experience at Simms Steakhouse! It was nice when we arrived that they had complimentary valet. Walking into the restaurant the decor was updated and really cool. We had reservations and were seated quickly. The wait staff was VERY professional. We started with calamari and a seared Ahi appetizer. Both were very good. The Ahi did have very small pieces but on the side they had homemade chips with salsa and a sauce drizzled on top. They also have individual bread bowls that were terrific! Everyone ordered a type of steak...all cooked perfectly. The cream corn and macaroni and cheese sides were our favorite. For dessert creme brule'...WOW!! Pricey meal but worth every penny for our special occasion.

I made reservations for my boyfriends birthday, for 5:00.When we arrived we were told that we needed to sit in the bar until they could seat us because they were not seating for supper until 5:00. At 15 after 5 they brought us in(to a gorgeous table with a fantastic view of Denver, that I had asked for).Although the view and table were great, why did I make a reservation for 5 if we could not be seated at 5? Other tables were already seated and being served food by this time. Weird. When I made the reservation I made a special note that it was his birthday, but our waiter had no idea. Our waitress was friendly and nice enough but,we ate our entire appetizer without beverages and many of the tables were not serveddrink

My porterhouse steak was cooked perfectly as well. We loved the seating arraignment for our 21st wedding anniversary. Thank You So Much, dining at Simms’s Steakhouse was a great experience and a great atmosphere. We would definitely go back, solely because the service by the staff was terrific. And the complementary Custer desert for our anniversary was delicious thank you.

Enjoyed the newly redecorated interior and the brunch was very good. The waitstaff was a work in progress but one could tell they had received some fine dining training. Considering the price I think they should include one cocktail with the meal. The food selection was good and seemed to be of high quality. The only thing missing was a cheese and crackers selection which would have topped the brunch off perfectly. All in all I would recommend this brunch to my friends.

We were celebrating an anniversary and let the server know this was a special occasion for us. Drinks, appetizer, and salads came fairly quickly. But after the salads, we waited an hour for our entrees. This was very upsetting considering we had an infant with us. Our server did not check back with us to let us know what was taking so long. When we complained to the manager, he apologized profusely but did nothing except to tell us that we could expect excellent service next time we dined there. In addition, the 2 people who had ordered fish felt that it was overdone and not that great. We will not return to this restaurant.

The food at Simms was fantastic. Everything was great, except the dishes were cold when they came out, which calls into question what the wait-staff were doing when the food was hot and ready. We sent it back to be re-heated. And be careful about ordering the "Surf & Turf Special". It sounds like a bargain, but you are actually ordering two entrees and you pay for both, with only a slight discount off the second. For my wife's birthday they gave us a gratis creme brulee dessert, which was great.

I have been going to Simms Landing, the seafood restaurant before it became the steak restaurant, for over 15 years. I liked the change, however, I do miss the fish tanks! The presentation was nice and the food was good. I had the fillet. I would recommend. I thought the service was good except our waitress was very young and did not know a thing about certain wines and some of the food choices. When I go to a nice steak restaurant, I certainly expect my server to have knowledge about the wine. The waitress also had on a too tight, too short, skirt that was bothering her and she kept pulling on it so it wouldn't creep up. I found that to be extremely unprofessional.
