A word from The Forge
In honour of The Forge’s 40th Anniversary in 2009, The Forge closed for a major renovation that would last almost a year. The result: an inspired farm-to-table menu and lifestyle approach to dining are all elements of The Forge’s new attitude. The award-winning restaurant has undergone a total makeover, the overall design and décor executed by Francois Frossard. walls of hand-carved blonde wood and antique smoked mirror, octopussian lilac and white crystal chandeliers, and an eclectic mix of upholstered and metal furniture. The elimination of more than 100 seats has created the ambiance of a large private home where every diner’s seat is “the best in the house.” The open floor plan of the 6,000-square-foot space allows guests to see and be seen.Executive Chef Christopher Lee presents a 65-item menu along with Dessert Menu by Chef Alycia Delany. Enomatic's offer guests 80 wines by the ounce and Mixologist Justin Maas presents an incredible list of craft cocktails.

the forge has seen it's day...I think the "club" scene is now it's forte'! the steak, was less than average with a price that was obscene!!!! the server/s we're kind, but no cross sell and really did not care what I ate, or if I ate.. I have had better steak at Ruth's Chris... this is a lot of hype and "no show" i dine out regularly and come over from Tampa every other month. I would never eat here again.

The food was very good and the service was good. The music was so loud we could hardly speak with our guests. A confusion ensued with the check that brought out a very poor disposition by our waiter who acted rude, defensive and unprofessionally, to the point of mocking our complaint. What would have been a great evening was ruined by a poorly trained waiter with an attitude. The Forge would do well by reprimanding the waiter and make good for its patrons.

Food was not memorable. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, very elegant. Service is ok, they tired to be really fancy, however we got pressured serveral times to get a $300 or more dollar bottle of champagne. Great atmosphere with OK a food.

Although we're from DC, this was our 2nd time going to the Forge on a Sunday night. The food is fabulous, but the atmosphere, architecture & beautiful people-watching experience is one of a kind. It's the best high-endy, Southbeachy, restaurant/lounge scene ever experienced. Although the owner is probably a gazillionaire, he still finds time to make his way through the restaurant greeting patrons and showing love. It's not uncommon to see A-list celebrities, NFL or NBA players who frequent there. My wife and are both in entertainment, so this spot is a real treat for us. It's not difficult to find. Just look for the restaurant on 41st with the Maybachs, lamborghini, Ferrari's, Bentley's and Phantom's parked out front.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2014

We went for my mother's 50th birthday. We were seated at a nice table in the center of the dining room, however every other guest out of the 8 in our party was seated with a metal table leg between their legs. Horrific! The sommelier was knowledgeable. The waiter was very attentive. The size of the actual menu, not the items on it, was ridiculously large and obtrusive as it was approximately 2 feet long and heavy. Two other diners ordered a souffle for desert and instead of bringing a special dessert for the guest of honor, they wrote Happy Birthday on the souffle plate and served it to my mother. The urinal leaked in men's room and we let the hostess know but she was too busy playing solitaire. Next time I'll go to the Capital Grille.

  • For somewhere so expensive
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 3/21/2008
For somewhere so expensive the service was extremely poor and the food mediocre at best. At twice the price of steak at Peter Lugers in NYC it should have been good but was infinitely inferior. Having ordered a sirlion medium rare I was presented with one that was medium well. Having been appalled by the service at that point we did not mention the fact that the order was wrong and were just happy to leave. I would not recommend this place to anyone. At $250 for two with only one of us drinking and one glass of wine and a cocktail between us, one appetizer and two steaks this place represents the worst of all worlds - porr service, poor food, poor value.

  • The loud music was not fitting
    OpenTable Diner Since 2006
    Dined on 3/15/2008
The loud music was not fitting for a nice steakhouse dinner experience. We found the waiter to be pre-occupied with too many tables or lack of effort. explanation of steaks were stock answers from website/menu listing and nothing with personal detail. Furthermore, the sides were brought into the room for serving and required our prompting to the waiter to place them on the table (he had left with no clue that sides were not on table & no one else bothered to check either). The sommiler was quite helpful and picked an excellent value wine. This was the only positive on the service side of the night. The super steak was good but not as flavorful as the filet.

All I heard was how great the Forge was. Our waiter was extremely rude and condescending. The music was so loud I couldn't hear myself think. And on top of it all, the "special" stone crab appetizer was frozen, not fresh. But the bone-in filet was the best I've had and the wine list was great, although slightly overpriced.
