We found this restaurant while looking at the restaurant week menus, and found that there were several items on the menu that would please our group: a senior, a twenty-something and two baby boomers. It is nice to find a restaurant that has more than one item your group will eat. We want to go back again to try the different entrees'. The desserts were also wonderful as well. The service was excellent, especially since they went out of their way to accommodate our handicapped guest. Only 12 tables here so it's cozy but still lit for conversation. I'm sure we will come back again if they will have us. We will be telling our friends about this place.

Corks is a very beautiful wooden building that is situated next to a working vineyard. The staff were friendly and eager to please. For Valentines day they had a set menu that included a good variety of dishes so there was an option for everybody. I wouldn't hesitate to dine there again.

i must say that i was very excited to end the v-day trip to napa @ cork's. i thought it would culminate the day which had posted temperatures of 70F+ and included some incredible wine tasting. however, i was extremely let down by the quality of the food at cork's. everything from the appetizer to the desert was so below par that my joy of the day dwindled with every bite. the salmon sticks were so fishy tasting i though i was licking the floor of a fish market - never mind that they were just stashed on top of some sloppily chopped lettuce. the steak was awful - chewy, poorly cooked, and just plain lacked any color or presentation value. bread pudding desert was dry, tasted burned, and was not touched after two spoons. i will not return

We've dined there in the past. On our February visit, the outdoor seating area was not yet available due of course to the weather. That area is outstanding and enjoyable. The interior has been extensively redone and is very cozy in the front; the rear area is larger and my well be suitable for a larger group as is the patio. The service was extraordinary.

Everything was great. There was a minor issue. The power to the area went out. We had already been served, so really was a non-issue for us. We did see two other couples leave that arrived after we were served. When we got up to leave, I noticed there wa not emergency lighting to light the path down their stairs and to the parking lot. The food, service and ambiance were all very good!

We stayed in Guerneville over the weekend and were pleasantly surprised that a first class restaurant exists nearby in Forestville. The Ahi and the Skirt Steak that we had was delicious and well cooked, The owners of Corks Restaurant and Russian River Vineyards (on the same property) have a fantastic site and it's definitely worth a visit for the food and their wine.

New Years 5 course dinner -- lots of food. Seafood bisque was best ever 5 star. Tuna appetizer and sea bass excellent. tri brucetta, ceasar salad, hangar steak were good but one more ingredient (gouda, anchovy, thicker sauce) would have rated these and A.

Visited this restaurant on New Years Eve which turned out to be a mistake. The service was the slowest I have ever had anywhere. 20 to 30 minute wait between each course. If we needed anything we had to grab the waitress as she passed, not once were we asked if we wanted anything. The appetizers, soup and salad were fine. The main courses were another story. My wife had the game hen and found this to be very greasy. I had the steak, the portion I received was not more than 2 ounces. I had the impression they were running out of food and trying to make it stretch. As for the desserts my wife had the ginger cake and it was very dry. I had the pear something and found the pear to be nearly as hard as a rock. Not a good first impression.

The garden room at Corks was a quiet, romantic venue for lunch on a foggy winter afternoon. Excellent soup, salad, and chicken sandwich fare was made even more enjoyable by a glass of their crisp Russian Hill vintage. We watched the two squirrels romping through the huge trees behind the old brick patio....and thought it was a charming way to enjoy the afternoon!

  • We first did a wine tasting

    Dined on 12/28/2009
We first did a wine tasting - were the only tasters and got excellent attention and education. It was my daughter's first tasting (just turned 21) and it was so much fun for her, made very special by our host. There were hardly any people in the restaurant so we had a small side room to ourselves, which was lovely. The service was excellent - the winetasting was continued at our table because we were a little rushed - and the food was served in a very professional, warm, friendly manner. The food itself was good, not great. One of us is a vegetarian who could not have cheese and so a substitute was arranged, but her dish was tiny compared to the others. A little extra would have been easy for the kitchen to do. Otherwise food was good.

We went for Pasta night and at first I was really excited because the indoor seating looked very cute. But we were sheparded to thier outside patio which was cold and not very exciting. Food was bland. Nothing stood out in terms of taste or the "yum" factor. Even the salad dressing was bland. The best item in the buffet were the oatmeal cookies. Would love to go back to give it a second try, but there are too many other competing restaurants that would give me more assurance. To pay $70.00 for 3 people in this economy and not have an above satisfactory experience, unfortunately, doesn't cut it.

I fell in love with this place! We would have driven right by if I hadn't done some research. Situated in a beautiful old home, next to an old hop kiln, the outside patio was reminiscent of a lovely summer day in Europe. Food was delectable- every thing we had got mmmms and ahhhs. The service was quite spotty, but there to linger, we didn't care. some beautifully presented and very well thought-out dishes. Oh, and the wine- lovely! If you find yourself in this area, make the extra effort to get here. For a low-key lunch in the sun, it is hard to beat!

We went to Corks on a Monday night for the Pasta Buffet. The patio dining was pleasant and lovely, the server was friendly, the wine was great BUT the pastas and salads were soggy and unmemorable. I guess I should have expected that for a buffet since the food sits out for you to serve yourself. I have to say that I was very dissapointed, though, after hearing about the great reputation of the pasta KING...I guess it's not his fault since any pasta that sits for a while will get soggy...still a dissapointment, though. I would not return on a Monday night, but still might try another night of the week, maybe the BBQ or Prix Fixe menu would be a better choice.

This winery restaurant was a great find. We were not sure what to expect but having eaten there, would certainly return. We visited on a Friday night in summer and sat outside on the large patio where there are lots of trees and old winery buildings. Our waitress was pleasant, knowledgeable and unpretentious. The food is the big winner here though. The menu was eclectic, offering plenty tempting choices without being overwhelming. Our simple salads were wonderful. Our main dishes buzzed with freshness and well-orchestrated taste combinations and the desserts did not disappoint. The quality of ingredients and the presentation was exceptionally high and certainly on par with many better known (and higher priced)restaurants. Recommended.

Came from a wine-tasting event with some friends to the RRV dining room. There's two "most impressive" things, all of which relate to the VALUE of this restaurant. The Prix Fixe menu options and the wine list. Not a huge list, but there are some really nice RRV wines on there that represent an excellent value - especially at a restaurant. The food is awesome as well. It was our guests' first time to the restaurant and they were impressed. An "all-around" good time!

There isn't a more beautiful, casual outdoor venue in Sonoma County. The food was great, one of the diners was delighted with a prix fixe vegetarian option, which is becoming an unfortunate rarity. The wait staff was attentive, friendly and gracious. The only disappointment was that there didn't seem to be a full house. This restaurant has been through several unfortunate incarnations, but I really hope that 'Corks' succeeds. They deserve to, and suffer none of the failings of the prior enterprises. I hope people give it a chance--I can guarantee that it won't be similar to any previous bad experiences there. Prices are reasonable and the ambience is superb.

We went on "Pasta Night" and were served the worst food I have had in a restaurant in at least 10 years. The salad was soaked in oil, no flavor in dressing at all. The pasta was mealy and gummy. The sauces for the pasta were not good. The lasagna was horrible, and even the chocolate chip cookie was bad enough we didn't eat them. YUCK! I would NEVER recommend this place. Based on the food, I'd never even buy the wine at Russian River. Very disappointing. I'd rather eat out of a vending machine.

We were there only for Sunday brunch outside on the lovely shaded patio, and we really enjoyed it. The veggie benedict (they also have traditional) and chicken tostada were excellent. The wine list is good, but we would have liked a few lower-priced choices. Food prices were very reasonable but, again, we saw only the brunch menu. You can see their other menus on their website. The food was prepared well with good presentation served by an attentive and friendly young woman who was a polished wait person. On a balmy Friday evening, the logical seating choice was the patio area. Unfortunately, it was not as lovely as I had remembered under past management. Tables were set up too far apart for the area to feel intimate. It was as if they couldn't decide whether to commit to using the patio or not. A bright colored ladder was leaning against the building in plain sight and other unattractive clutter especially approaching the entrance was a distraction from the otherwise lovely surroundings.
