This was a surprising and delightful dining experience. The food was very fine. We had a cheese plate appetizer followed by the Lobster Pot Pie (her) and the Roast Duck (me). Portions were generous and nicely presented. The food was very tasty. My wife had expected larger chunks of the lobster and so was slightly disappointed. The view of the lake and the ducks swimming was a treat as was the live guitarist who serenaded us during the meal. As the restaurant is part of a wine shop, it was very nice to make our wine selection from the vast array of domestic and imported wines and then have them delivered to our table by the waitress. The outside air was kept pleasantly cool and moist by a very light mist from overhead vents.

What a great restaurant! If you are into wine at all, don't miss it. The wine shop with close to a thousand choices is part and parcel of the operation/experience. Chose a very reasonably and fairly priced wine and for only ten dollars more, they serve it to you with your dinner - none of this times three (3X) markup. The food is wonderful and the location on a small lake is delightful. Well worth the 15 - 20 minute drive from the strip.

    Dined on 8/16/2009
My boyfriend and I come here often just to "get away" because it doesn't feel like we're in Las Vegas when we come here. The lobster croissant, the beet salad, and the escargot were our favorites. However, during our last visit, we found that the food was a bit lacking and seemed to be prepared differently than it used to be. Overall, it is still one of our favorite places to relax on a Sunday afternoon, but we hope the quality of the food returns to what it was before.

The quality of the food was quite good, i.e, delicious. The quantity, however, was poor. The lobster bisque was excellent but as my spoon touched the bottom of the bowl on the first dip, the edges of the spoon were above the soup line. The shrimp ete salad was loaded with flavor but there was all of two sliver thin slices of tomato beneath the spring salad mix. Desert of flourless chocolate cake was the essence of divinity...pure, light, deep chocolate that melted in my mouth....I'd go for wine and chocolate next time.

As the previous reviews noted, the ambiance is romantic and we loved the live music. It was a welcomed change from the typical Vegas scene. While we enjoyed the ambiance, the food was far from spectacular. The crab encrusted halibut was fishy, the butcher's cut was tough even though we requested it be cooked medium. The peppercorn steak was tender yet lacked distinctive flavor. On the plus side, the creme brulee was fantastic. The best part was the wine. We liked being able to walk through the shop and pick a bottle to drink with dinner.I'd go back for drinks and dessert and to enjoy the nice lakeside atmosphere.

As usual, Marche Bacchus continues to serve elegant fare, in a casual dining atmosphere without the pretentiousness of many of the on-the-Strip. The wait staff is actually not only courteous, but personable and continues to make each dining experience feel one-of-a-kind. My favorite dish is the scallop risotto, but the lobster pot pie is second to none.

Marche Bacchus changed hands since we were there last. The menu is still French, but not only. The increased choices allow for other tastes. This place is also a fine wine store. The wine list is everything in the store. I made reservations a few weeks ago and requested a seat near the lake. We were seated promptly to a lovely table overlooking the lake. We all agreed that it was a shame we hadn't returned here earlier as this is definitely one of the very best restaurants on the West side. But even if you live in Henderson, and have to spend 30 minutes getting here, you'll not be disappointed and your only complaint will be that it's not in your neighborhood.

What a wonderful find. We were visiting from NY and wanted to get off the strip and found Marche Bacchus online. What a treat! We dined outside on the terrace on a Wednesday when they had live music. We picked a lovely wine in the wine shop and enjoyed a fantastic meal. Very serene looking at the lake. It was definately worth the excursion!

Marche Bacchus is our favorite spot for weekend lunches with an amazing outdoor patio and lake view, great menu, and spectacular wine selection in the adjoining wine store. Food was good, not remarkable. My wife had a salad/tart that was tasty but could have been made at home w/ limited effort. I had mussels, which although pretty good, had a broth which lack both comlexity and substance of stock or seasoning. Waiter was unable to pronounce almost everything on the menu...sad. For a restaurant in what is essentially a retirement community, it's not surprising, although unfortunate, that bland is the order of the day--I'm just glad it wasn't strained!

Although the food was pretty good, it was a little overpriced. And although the wine selection was great, the server was unable to offer a suggestion to pair with our main course. This seemed a little odd for a restaurant where wine is a selling point. The ambiance was wonderful, however! We will try again, perhaps for lunch.

Some restaurants make up for mediocre food with a nice ambiance, some restaurants make up for a shabby exterior with great taste: Marche Bacchus is the best of both worlds. The little patio spot they've created on the shore of the calm water transports you out of the desert, out of a city, and into a romantic and cozy getaway. Wandering through the bottles to find the perfect wine is not only fun, but gives the diners the freedom to splurge or be thrifty (or if they know nothing about wine, to pick the prettiest one they can find.) The cheese plate was excellent, we both ordered fish, which was great, and the bread pudding for dessert was perfect.

Food was very good, however, the past few times I have been there, I have had to wait about 45 min to an hour for my food, and this last time was no exception. We only ordered simple lunch dishes (sandwiches, soup, etc). I guess they are going for the authentic european theme of having a 2-3 hour lunch?!?! That would be my only complaint of the wait time, otherwise it was a good experience.
