Beautiful location. Great wine selection. However, salty, salty, salty. French Onion soup was salty but manageable. I had the seared tuna with the "Sizzling Kale" and it was so tart between vinegar and unexpected salt added. Lastly, the service was extremely slow. My seared tuna was on the verge of cold by the time it came out and I had to flag the servers for water (it should be automatic for the price point). I would like to try it one last time because of the rave reviews I read elsewhere. But my experience on a Saturday night was on the verge of dismal.

Great place for brunch! Enjoy the view of the private neighborhood lake of Desert Shores on the outside patio. The Ham & Brie on the french bread roll is our favorite. They have a great wine selection by the bottle at the market, or order by the glass. A great compliment after spending some time at the spa next door.

  • The theme of the restaurant
    OpenTable Diner Since 2010
    Dined on 1/8/2010
The theme of the restaurant is superb as you choose your wine in the "wine store" prior to dining. The outdoor patio allowed me to escape and relax, with the outdoor fireplace, the smell of the water, and the view of the lake glistening under the night lights. Jazz played in the background and the atmosphere was excellent. The food was good overall. The Chef does have a unique talent for blending unique flavors, as his warm beet salad, which was excellent. If you are on a healthy diet or lifestyle, I would not eat here as the menu is limiting due to the use of butter and high caloric items. A huge disappoinment was receiving a Creme Brulee with a burnt sugar topping. Would I return, yes, However would make wiser menu choices.

We booked on-line with Open Table, but it turns out if we would have called in our reservation we could have sat outside which is supposed to have much more ambiance. We sat in an area in front of the wine shop. The area was cozy but a bit cramped. Anyone looking for a romantic setting, consider yourself forewarned! I will definitely be going back, but I will call in my reservation next time. Food and service was excellent. For those who haven't dined at the restuarant before, you can browse the wine shop, select your bottle, bring it back to the table and your server will open it and add it to your check. You can also have the staff do this, but that's no fun. We ended up taking 3 bottles home with us.

Fast, attentive service; food was beautifully presented and flawlessly prepared. The duck was exquisite, and the accompaniment of apple & cabbage was a perfect choice. Our friends thoroughly enjoyed the Scallops Risotto and other dishes. Pricing was very reasonable. We had enjoyed lunch here, but dinner was such a wonderful experience we will certainly return!

We found the atmosphere beautiful, and food very tasty, especially the Kansas city steak. The service was attentive, but slow to get the soups and salads out. After that the entree's came out quickly. I think the grading on the price scale was off, most entree's were well over 30$ each, appetizers were between 8-14$. They had a special advertised on their website, that during 5-7pm was the happy hour and some entree's were 9$. When we wanted to order that, we were told by our server that the special was only during the summer months and they had discontinued that. I was a little disappointed and embarassed since some members of our group are on a fixed income and they therefore had only ordered a soup and salad.

I had a party of 9 people for my best friend's surprise birthday party. I brought in my own custom birthday cake and the staff was great about taking it to the table and then cutting it and plating it for us when we were ready. The lady at the front desk also played along with the surprise since my friend did not know that we were all there waiting for her. The atmosphere is fantastic - it's right by the water so we chose to dine on the patio. It was awesome! The waiter copped a little bit of an attitude when a couple people in the party requested their own checks (which we had told them not to do) but that's to be expected in a "nicer" place like this I guess! Overall, good food and great atmosphere - I'd come here again!

This was a surprising and delightful dining experience. The food was very fine. We had a cheese plate appetizer followed by the Lobster Pot Pie (her) and the Roast Duck (me). Portions were generous and nicely presented. The food was very tasty. My wife had expected larger chunks of the lobster and so was slightly disappointed. The view of the lake and the ducks swimming was a treat as was the live guitarist who serenaded us during the meal. As the restaurant is part of a wine shop, it was very nice to make our wine selection from the vast array of domestic and imported wines and then have them delivered to our table by the waitress. The outside air was kept pleasantly cool and moist by a very light mist from overhead vents.

What a great restaurant! If you are into wine at all, don't miss it. The wine shop with close to a thousand choices is part and parcel of the operation/experience. Chose a very reasonably and fairly priced wine and for only ten dollars more, they serve it to you with your dinner - none of this times three (3X) markup. The food is wonderful and the location on a small lake is delightful. Well worth the 15 - 20 minute drive from the strip.

My boyfriend and I come here often just to "get away" because it doesn't feel like we're in Las Vegas when we come here. The lobster croissant, the beet salad, and the escargot were our favorites. However, during our last visit, we found that the food was a bit lacking and seemed to be prepared differently than it used to be. Overall, it is still one of our favorite places to relax on a Sunday afternoon, but we hope the quality of the food returns to what it was before.

The quality of the food was quite good, i.e, delicious. The quantity, however, was poor. The lobster bisque was excellent but as my spoon touched the bottom of the bowl on the first dip, the edges of the spoon were above the soup line. The shrimp ete salad was loaded with flavor but there was all of two sliver thin slices of tomato beneath the spring salad mix. Desert of flourless chocolate cake was the essence of divinity...pure, light, deep chocolate that melted in my mouth....I'd go for wine and chocolate next time.

As the previous reviews noted, the ambiance is romantic and we loved the live music. It was a welcomed change from the typical Vegas scene. While we enjoyed the ambiance, the food was far from spectacular. The crab encrusted halibut was fishy, the butcher's cut was tough even though we requested it be cooked medium. The peppercorn steak was tender yet lacked distinctive flavor. On the plus side, the creme brulee was fantastic. The best part was the wine. We liked being able to walk through the shop and pick a bottle to drink with dinner.I'd go back for drinks and dessert and to enjoy the nice lakeside atmosphere.

Marche Bacchus changed hands since we were there last. The menu is still French, but not only. The increased choices allow for other tastes. This place is also a fine wine store. The wine list is everything in the store. I made reservations a few weeks ago and requested a seat near the lake. We were seated promptly to a lovely table overlooking the lake. We all agreed that it was a shame we hadn't returned here earlier as this is definitely one of the very best restaurants on the West side. But even if you live in Henderson, and have to spend 30 minutes getting here, you'll not be disappointed and your only complaint will be that it's not in your neighborhood.
