Us: happy suburban couple on our anniversary going blindly from Urbanspoons to reality. Inside: nameless international hotel chic with cruddy soundtrack and business-client dinner atmosphere that happens to serve wonderful and costly food. Outside: looks like a fantastic new place to try cocktails and food, with views of the harbor, cuddly sofas and tables supported by outdoor heating devices. We will return, but only for the outside.

I was disappointed. The food was just OK and it was expensive. My husband and I had the Lamb Porterhouse and it wasn't special at all. Couldn't compare it to a rack of lamb at all. The figs rapped in prosciutto and gorgonzola cheese was great but the rest was just OK. With all the choices in the North End, I wouldn't suggest Aragosta.

Wonderful brunch on the terrace on July 4th - especially enjoyed the holiday clambake special - a deal/steal at $24 for great lobster, chowder, corn and watermelon - and sangria. Service was exceptional, as was the up close view of Old Ironsides returning to Charlestown Navy Yard. A hidden gem - highly recommended.

My calamari appetizer was perfectly cooked, the bread was excellent, we had a lovely table on the patio overlooking the harbor, the evening started off quite well. But my seared tuna was two large slabs of tough stringy tuna which was cooked medium rare (I expected seared to be a raw center--given the quality of the tuna, perhaps it was better that they partially cooked it). The accompanying grilled fennel and raisin sauce was excellent, but couldn't get around the tuna. Half the portion would have been fine if it was sushi grade. Then there was the dessert--it was called a semifredo "Boston cream pie." It was a large slab of ice cream undoubtedly filled with artificial colors and flavors--something you might buy from an icecream truck

We dined on the terrace for Father's Day brunch. It was a bit windy but service was terrific. The view was not quite as scenic as hoped, mostly due to the coast guard boats on one side blocking the Charlestown Naval Yard but you did get a good view of the ferry boats coming in and out of the harbor. Coast Guard omelette with lobster had lots of lobster meat in it and was very tasty. Food sizes were just right. Not too large or small.

We saw a review of Aragosta Bar and Bistro on TV Diner and had to try it. We enjoyed all aspects of our experience. Nice decor (they have seating indoors and outdoors), very friendly staff (our wait person Coline was very helpful and let us enjoy our courses without standing over us)and excellent food. I had a half portion of the Whole Grain Spaghetti, Roasted Garlic Scampi for the starter and then the Seared Tuna for the main course. Both dishes were outstanding. For dessert I had the Olive Oil Cake with Gelato. Exellent wine selection as well so overall this was as great experience. We would definetly go back!!

I love this restaurant. It is beautiful; the people are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful; the views are very nice; sitting on the terrace on a lovely day or evening is just wonderful; prices are reasonable for such an elegant restaurant; and the food ranges from good to great! It is a special place in every way.

The menu seems to change often with the seasons--the menu in the restaurant was similar to but not the same as the current on the website, so you can't necessarily pick what you want ahead of time. The tables are dressed simply and elegantly, though some of the room decor feels like a cheap hotel room. There's outdoor seating available and although we requested it, we then asked to be moved inside when the wind picked up--the wait staff reacted positively and we were ushered in. gnocchi w/ lamb shoulder: The gnocchi was incredibly delicate and rich. The lamb shoulder (mostly pull-apart) reminded me of braised beef. Together they were amazing.

The food and the wait staff were excellent, however, the FOH is deplorable. We arrived for a 7:30pm reservation at 7:20pm and were told our table would be ready in 10 minutes. Typically that's fine but there was ONE table occupied in the entire restaurant. Seemed silly at the time but, hey, whatever. We decided to have a drink at the bar and wait for our table. We waited for over 30 minutes, with still nobody in the restaurant. Completely unacceptable. I'll never return. I read the reviews on Yelp and this is exactly on point with many of the reviewers but we figured we'd give it a shot anyway. Our mistake, one we'll make only once.

Although we all enjoyed our meals, the service was not good and things seemed disorganized in general with the staff. We had reservations but waited about 10 minutes in the lobby to be seated - we were told that our table was being prepared. There were only 4 of us so not as if we were a large party. Then upon being seated and given menus we sat for quite a while before anyone came over to our table. And then we had to call over another server to get some bread while we were waiting. Maybe these are things that will improve as the restaurant is open longer and servers become more experienced...

We walked in and the place was empty. But for some reason we still had to wait 15 minutes to get seated. The service was very poor. For all the hostesses and waiters they had, no one seemed to serve us - had to wait forever for our drinks, food and bill. Food was decent but limited menu. Typical hotel restaurant I guess. Expensive to top it off.

I had brunch with a friend at Aragosta. The menu looked great; I couldn't decide what to choose. The meal was good -- no exceptional notes, though. The service could be more professional. The waitress asked me three or four times (within a short time period) if I was finished eating. You couldn't help but feel rushed; yet, it wasn't even crowded. I do think the restaurant has potential and will try it again.

A good meal overall but with a limited menu we would have expected excellent food. However we did feel that the quality of the cooking was not exceptional. The ambience was pleasant enough and the level of service was excellent. The weather was not good enough for dining outside but if it had been the facilities would have provided a pleasant enough environment.

Had read good reviews and expected a memorable meal . .. we were disappointed. Although friendly, the waitstaff seemed very discombobulated and unorganized (our cocktails arrived with our apps) The did have a very large party but a hotel restaurant should be used to that. The menu sounded better than it tasted. There was nothing wrong with the food ... it just wasn't that exciting . . . sorta bland .. missing something. The hot bread and fantastic olive oil served first were the highlights.

I have to admit I was disappointed with Aragosta. I went for Mother's Day Brunch with a party of 6 people. Although the food was good, it was way overpriced for what it was. Small portions and nothing special. I was really looking forward to the view the restaurant offered but unfortunately all the curtains where closed. Also they were advertising a free "Harbor Boat Tour" with reservations for brunch. I never received this and have not been able to reach anybody who can explain to me why. The Highlight of the meal was their Mimosa's with fresh squeezed orange juice. Also are waitress was very good and friendly. Overall Aragosta wasn't "bad" but it isn't at all what it as advertised to be.

THis was near the opening if not the weekend of the opening and they just didn't have it together yet. We were a big group and our food didn't come out together. My entree was completely forgotten. Instead of just comping some food they gave us more food which made no sense and honestly was just annoying because we were done eating. They genuinely were trying but it was just a mess. I would definitely give it another try but be careful if you are with a big group.

This restaurant is in a hotel and feels like it. The decor seems most fitting to hotel breakfast and it is too bright. The staff was eager to please yet they were unseasoned. Some of the dishes were pretty good, but in most cases the presentation or the chefs ideas have gone awry. The Papparadelle is one giant rolled up noodle...completely loses the texture of delicate pasta, but the sauce was delicious. The gnochi was listed in the pasta section but is really a meat dish with a couple of gnochi on the plate. The chicken with polenta was far too fatty and the chicken tasted a bit off. When I asked for a half a pour of wine (as a second serving), I was told no, they couldn't discount alcohol. We were not offered coffee or dessert???

WE figured out pretty quickly that our waiter was actually a bartender, who was severly lacking in the polish and decorum the rest of the waitstaff exhibited. Yelling our orders across the patio, failng to explain specials, etc. detracted somewhat from the overall experience. An uninvited apology for his brusqueness helped a bit, but you expect more at a restaurant like this.

I don't often feel compelled to write a review especially after only one visit because I don't believe it would be accurate. Now having dined there many times, I must say that the service is consistently excellent. Their attention to detail and friendly staff is also a plus. Not to mention the food - AMAZING!! Both my husband's and my food were clean-the-plate good. On this last visit, he had the steak and I had the scallops - both highly recommended. The menu changes seasonally and uses local produce, which is always nice. So the next time I visit the menu may have changed, but I know whatever I have will be fantastic!
