The night started out very nicely. Our waiter was nice, but as it got crowded, we were completely forgotten. Had to ask several times for water......waited too long between dinner and being asked about coffee and dessert.......waited 30 minutes for our bill...... and as we left, angrily, I remembered that I didn't even get my salad.

We had a wonderful evening dining at Del Friscos. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. We were celebrating our friends birthday and the waiter already knew because of my note on OpenTable.com. The only thing that needed some improvement was the seafood medley tower. It was a little skimpy and a bit of a disappointment. I would suggest checking out the Old Homesteads seafood tower for ideas. (Its quite impressive) The crackers in their packages that were served with the seafood should certainly be taken off - it took some class away from the platter. Other than that, it was probably the best steak that I and the rest of my party has ever had. The side dishes were all amazing especially the lobster macaroni and cheese.

The food and service was excellent. The only issue at all was the seating arrangements. When you drop 200 bucks for 2 people to eat, it would be nice not to be on top of the people at the next table. Other than this, the dining experience was great.

  • The Philadelphia Del Frisco's
    OpenTable Diner Since 2006
    Dined on 3/14/2009
The Philadelphia Del Frisco's is housed in a huge space that was once a bank.It has soaring, ornately carved ceilings, beautiful wood accents and large windows draped with gorgeous red fabric. Red clothes and glittering candles adorn the tables. The bar has a unique tower of wine bottles that seems to go all the way up to the ceiling. The pomegranite martini was good in both size and taste but a bit pricey at $15.00. The food was very good but not outstanding. The beef medallions served over a fancy mashed potato was tasty. Portions are of average size and overpriced. I couldn't help but compare the food & prices to that of Morton's and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Del Frisco's is a nice special occasion place to dine.

If you plan on going out to eat only one more time in your life, make Del Frisco's your last supper. The ambiance alone justifies the cost of this decidedly pricey steakhouse. Whether you choose to eat on the lofty promenade - with a cavernous view of the ex-bank - or in the smaller dining room situated in the old vault, the stylish decor is simply stunning. I also greatly admired the craftsmanship that went in to creating the forty-foot tall wine tour that anchors the 30 seat bar. As for the food - well, it is very good steak cooked to perfection, although I have eaten better in New York, Chicago, KC... However, my food was served by a staff that is clearly jazzed to work in this emerging civic landmark. 4.5 stars from this customer.

The simplest way to report on our meal was as follows: the waiter asked how would you like your steak? medium rare And how would you like that done? I asked for Pittsburgh medium...they never heard of that. Both steaks, the "medium rare" and Pittsburgh medium arrived exactly the same...we couldn't tell which was which. And they call it a "steak house" Good Luck Decor-wise be prepared for a shock...it doesn'e look at all like the pictures. It's a big gloomy dull cavern....but noisy.

Very disappointing experience. Would not return. This place has an identity crisis...is it a fine restaurant or bar hangout. The noise level seems like it is identifing with the latter. We were VERY disappointed in the ambiance...large bar on the first floor interfered with the dining experience there...and televisions throughout tuned to sporting events. Is this a dining experience or a sports bar....when you are charging prime prices for your steak (got a VERY SALTY Porterhouse that looked like a T-bone) and wines, establish and keep that type of atmosphere. If you desire to be a sports bar, go with that. YOU CANNOT DO BOTH. VERY DISAPPOINTING....as a city resident I was looking forward to a fine new steak place. WILL NOT RETURN.

The food and service were second to none. We were amazed that our server asked how quickly we would like the food brought to the table. He explained to us that if we're in a rush, they will speed up the order or if we were going to be taking our time, they would adjust for that as well. The interior architecture is nothing short of incredible. All of the staff were extremely helpful and courteous. I would definately recommend dining there and plan to visit again.

Just another steakhouse from my perspective in terms of menu and staff. However, if visitng Phila and celebrating an event (and not being a regular at upscale steakhouses) you would enjoy it. Also good for wining and dining business associates. The interior is great with the sky high ceilings and draped fabric and architecture. Good wine suggestions were made also.

We've been to DelFrisco's in Vegas and now in Philly. It's one of our favorite steakhouses and we decided to celebrate our anniversary. No surprise...steaks were amazing...we love the lobster mac & cheese...and the signature martini was great! The wait staff knew we were celebrating our anniversary, so while we looked at the dessert menu, they went for the coffee we ordered and returned with our coffee and a piece of cheesecake with a candle. While the intention was very nice, we never expected to have to PAY for the cake we didn't order. We would have ordered something different from your dessert menu since my wife doesn't prefer cheesecake. We still enjoyed our experience, just would have preferred a better ending.

My best friend and I have been to DelFrisco's in NYC, and were always blown away with its ambiance, service, and food. Our recent visit to the Philly location was equally breathtaking, except for the food. Our salads were delightful, but sadly, our sides were luke warm to cool, and my steak, which was ordered medium well, was cooked medium rare. I had to send it back, and I NEVER do that. My best friend, however, was quite pleased with her steak. What lacked on my plate was made up for tenfold in our super friendly and knowledgeable waiter. And the building itself...holy cow! Absolutely beautiful architecture and decor. The room was truly breathtaking. Despite the aforementioned food issues, I would still recommend DelFrisco's.

Overall, the dinner was excellent. The sides we ordered weren't very special (fried potatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms were all done very average), but the steak was outstanding and that is why we came. The music was also a bit too loud, and the small candle on the table looked like it came from Target. However, the service was very friendly and helpful, the drinks well prepared, and the architecture is absolutely beautiful. For a special occasion, it was worth the price.
