My wife and I really enjoyed this new restaurant by the water. The food was excellent and the service was just as good. From the bread to the appetizers to the entrees, everything was made fresh with high quality ingredients. We had a seat by the window overlooking Rowe's Wharf and the view was just beautiful. The only minor drawback was that the prices were slightly higher than what we had expected, but they were still within expectations. Overall, we highly recommend this great dinning location in the Boston area.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out how nice this cafe/off-lobby bar really was. It was a recommendation from Opentable on a busy weekend for the Boston Greenway Grand Opening. It was an outstanding experience; way above my expectations. The decor was very nice, the service was very, very good, the harbor view is a little understated, but still very nice and the food was excellent and well presented. The overall ambiance and experience rates in my top 5 for hotel restaurants of this sort.

For a fancy restaurant with fancy prices, the food was incredibly mediocre. The chicken was dry and flavorless, the chicken dish was lukewarm. The pasta was tasteless and lukewarm. The lamb chops were small but delicious, and the dish was, again, lukewarm. This was a Friday night so there should not be any excuse for the mediocrity. The service seemed very inexperienced, and no one brought or even offered water. After that, there was no way we were goiing for dessert. We won't be returning or recommending it for anyone else.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 8/29/2008
This was the worse experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I made breakfast reservations for 10am which they lost and we sat for 20 minutes without even menus. It took another 15 minutes to get our beverages. An hour and half later only one meal had arrived out of a group of ten. We ordered eggs, bagels and fruit - so nothing fancy. We left hungry without receiving the rest of our meals. The table next to us had been their even longer and had to wait for new meals because their son had received raw pancakes! I was very disappointed especially for such a high profile hotel. As an office manager, I will not be recommending this hotel for clients as the service was horrible!!!

Intrigue is not known for it's food -- it's edible and pricey but not compelling. For great food and service, go upstairs to Meritage which is a gem. However, going to the Boston Harbor Hotel and sitting outside on a beautiful summer day is one of the greatest pleasures of a Boston Summer. Whether you're listening to the Blues, Swing dancing, or watching a cinematic classic; there's no better venue. Don't let the Summer pass without taking in this experience.

We had reservations at 4:30 and were promptly seated. About 5 minutes later, I got a call from Intrigue asking if I was going to make my reservation. This was the start of a disorganized night. We ordered drinks and were reasonably quickly served. We paused to peruse the menu and ordered dinner. I ordered gazpacho and got that reasonably quickly. (The gazpacho was OK. Very thin with just a little diced vegetable.) We then waited nearly an hour with no explanation and only one visit from our waiter. I had the grilled bass served over (cold) cous cous and corn with grilled tomatoes. It was quite good. We had to hunt the waiter down for the check. We were never offered coffee or dessert.

The service received was substantially below par for a restaurant with a fine reputation. After the waiter explained how understaffed the kitchen was and how overworked he was, my response was, "That is the reason for the poor service but it does not obviate the fact that the service was unacceptibly bad"

The view was spectacular. The food was not. One person in my party had the burger. She had to send it back because it was overdone. It came back the same way. The fries were tasteless. The Salade Nicoise with Tuna was bland. It came as slices of ahi (good) with boiled potates quartered and an egg in half. There was no seasoning or dressing. When I asked for dressing I was told there was only balsamic vinegrette, which was tasteless as well. The sea bass was overcooked. The crab cakes were mediocre, somewhat greasy. This restaurant was expensive and I expected more! The only great part was the view and the outdoor seating. Maybe it was an off night, but I am not going back.

Went to Intrigue to eat while enjoying the music on the Blues Barge. Service was hardly memorable, the small things being overlooked and having to ask for them, - water, fresh ground pepper, wine list. Bread basket was horrible - cold, soggy "crostini" with long ago melted cheddar. I decided to splurge and order the "steamed two-lb maine lobster". It came out of the shell in a sea of butter. I wish the menu described it more accurately. My husband ordered swordfish with a black bean/corn salsa. It was just that, black beans from a can mixed with corn from a can - no flavor whatsoever. Decided to walk to the North End for dessert, sure wish we had eaten there. Next time, we'll stand-by for the music and eat elsewhere.

The ravioli was very fresh, lucky the table next to us ordered the mahi special which was VERY dry, as that was what I had thought I wanted to order. Confusing to think about 'which' restaurant at the hotel we really wanted (although the fact that we had the reservation, the extreme busyness of the night as well as the very helpful hostesses kept us at Intrigue). We had to track the waiter down for everything we needed and he really did not seem to be happy in his position. The movie was cool, except for those of us who also wanted to have a conversation (a bit loud).....

First off, our drinks were wrong - we asked for vodka and tonic and got vodka and soda. When our food finally came, the pizza was stone cold - had to send it back. The burger I ordered had a piece of plastic on it and no cheese, which could have caused me to choke! Sent that back. The manager came over and said we would not have to pay for the dinner, which was nice, since it was horrendous. He offered give us dessert, which we got. They never cleared the table. 2 of use got our dessert, and the third got hers about 15 minutes later when we were finished. The whole thing was a disaster and I will never go back again. The music on the barge outside was very nice, and I would go back to that again, but I was totally disenchanted with Intrigue

The food was decent but a bit overpriced. The service was extremely slow but very friendly. One downside is that you can't reserve outdoor seating which is really the only reason to go during the nice weather. Great if you want to sit outside and get a couple of drinks...but to enjoy a nice meal is a bit to cramped.
