    OpenTable Diner Since 2011

Staff reacted to a last minute change in our number with exemplary aplomb, quickly setting up a new table. Almost all of our food was very good. We had two vegetarians in our number who were very pleased with the extensive and imaginative vegetarian choices instead of simply the usual "vegetable plate" comprised of side dishes. One diner felt that the menu was almost overly ambitious and that in such a small and seasonal restaurant it would be difficult to maintain consistent quality level across the board. However, it was clear that the chef liked quality food and put thought into composing the menu. We had a very good experience and would recommend the restaurant to others.

What a gem this restaurant is! The food here is terrific. Everything was fresh and delicious. They have an extensive vegetarian menu. The prices were very reasonable. It's in a small place which makes it a little noisy and the service was tolerable but the food makes it worth it. We highly recommend this restaurant.

GREAT restaurant. I hadn't been there in years, but tried it due to the two for one. We bought a good bottle of wine and desserts and salads....so the deal is working to get people in. My experience a few years ago wasn't great, but this time it was spectacular. A friend suggested the reservation because of the "deal." Now I will rate 221 highly in Zagat's because I participate in their reviews. Kudos on the deal...it is bringing a lot of people in on a Tuesday night!

Best food in Telluride by far. Imaginative menu, great ambiance and charm. Only issue we had on last visit was that our table was not ready when booked and the host was responsible for setting up tables, which took forever and created a negative impression when we arrived as we were left standing by the door for over 15 minutes. The meal and waitress service we received when we were finally seated luckily made up for our initial negative impression and we would return.

We have been to 221 Oak several times over the years, but not recently. What a pleasure to go again and find the food as delicious as ever. There were several inventive dishes on the menu including a delicious special of talapia served with a seafood-stuffed artichoke. The fried calamari was crisp and delicious, the pea soup outstanding. Nothing here is 'run of the mill'. Everything is prepared expertly, with delicious ingredients. I recommend it highly.

Very nice restaurant. Service was excellent. Some of the dishes were quite excellent and imaginative - including the sausage appetizer and the fruit and feta salad. I highly recommend those. The main courses were solid - but I wouldn't say they were great. I was probably somewhat limited in choices in that I try not to eat ocean fish in Telluride as its not even close to being local.

We had a great meal here as a group of 4. Started with crawfish beignets which were quite tasty. Entrees were filling and served hot. My pork loin was prepared perfectly and the others were happy with their selections as well. The molten chocolate cake with chocolate chocolate ship ice cream was a hit with all of us. Wine list was nice and pricing was not through the roof. Service was good if not a bit rushed. While we were eating inside, the mosquitoes from outside came in through an open door to the patio. We would happily return to 221.

The best thing about 221 South Oak are the numerous specials. In a small town like Telluride the lack of variation in most menus leads to boredom. 221 Soutn Oak always has numerous specials, including a fantastic fennel/endive salad for this last meal, which make going there a fresh experiance.
