o ya definitely lived up to our expectations - which is pretty amazing, considering all the wonderful press out there. As you've heard before, prepare to spend some $$$, but the food and the overall dining experience are totally worth the price. We ordered the chef's tasting, which was a great way to sample the very large and overwhelming menu. It was wonderful, and definitely prepared us for our next visit (which we are already planning!)

My neighbor had told me about O Ya before I made the reservation. I was told, "Make the reservation at least two months in advance." However, when I arrived on a Thursday at 6pm, I was surprised to find it nearly empty. A few businessmen were sitting at a table in the corner, and I took my lone set at the end of the bar while I waited for my three friends to join me. The server immediately greeted me and proved friendly throughout the meal. I soaked up the atmosphere: very zen like with a modern edge. I started to look over the menu and thought that the plates were real dinner-sized proportions. On the contrary, the server quickly explained to us how everything is bite size. She was right! The food is amazing, but too expensive to return.

If you love food, this is definitely a life changing sort of restaurant. Built by two passionate food lovers, this restaurant is a must visit, hide-away restaurant on a tiny street in the heart of Boston. Be warned that you'll want to try just about everything, so be prepared to spend some money.

This tiny dining room with leave you with a huge impression. The staff are superb, at times it feels like they are matched to their patrons 2:1, glasses are never empty, all special diets are attended to carefully, and each menu item is explained carefully. The food is like an art form with layers of complicated flavor that join blissfully in your mouth. For a real splurge ($$$$$) try the omakasi - chef's choice menu, 16 single bite courses!
