  • A perfect pick for three generation
    OpenTable Diner Since 2005VIP

A perfect pick for three generations for Mother's Day. The service staff was accommodating to both the young kids (children's menu and cotton candy when they are through) to the senior who needed more deliberation time and explanations. The large plate/small plate options are terrific for those who don't want a big meal. And, the small bites desserts for those who want some sugar but don't want to overindulge.

  • Kid Friendly? Good for Groups?
    OpenTable Diner Since 2007
    Dined on 5/10/2009
Kid Friendly? Good for Groups? My 11 year old son was not offered a kid's menu and drinks were not with free refills, waitress automatically refilled all the drinks and then we were billed for it. Entree served was fair to good, delicious creme brulee, yucky lemon tart (dessert pastry that tasted like fried chicken), reasonably priced wine, attentive waitress; Overall, overrated restaurant and very pricey for the quality of food.

  • The line-up of strollers outside
    OpenTable Diner Since 2002
    Dined on 4/19/2009
The line-up of strollers outside the restaurant made it clear from the start that they catered to little ones and it held true to form. We had an enjoyable meal and the server was accommodating to our three year old. There were a few gaffs with respect to our food, one omelet came with slightly different ingredients than ordered, another very light on the goat cheese and a burger cooked rare rather than medium-rare. Despite the lax kitchen, the meal was enjoyable. It may not be the cheapest for the fare served but it was easy in and out and that's worth something when you have a three year old in tow.

Loved the interior of the restaurant, but wished we had known to ask for a "Pod" table. The table we got was very wobbly -- too top for the base. The service was just OK, the food satisfactory. Nice ambience and view.

Dinner was great, desserts were even better (yummy orange cotton candy for the birthday girls, and we got the assortment of all the desserts which was fabulous), and the environment was a lot of fun. Our server was the highlight of a great evening - she was attentive and nice. My only slight negative is that it was a tad pricier than I would have expected, but not by an extrordinary amount.

We all had a very nice time but the music was too loud where we were sitting and we had to shout to make ourselves heard across the round table. There was also a noisey party with two children at the next table which added to the problem. I did ask the waitness to see if she could turn down the music - but it didn't happen. But inspite of this we all enjoyed the eating experience and would visit again. M

We had a wonderful meal. We arrived 30 minutes prior to our 5:30PM reservation and were promptly seated. I requested a "table with a view" when making reservations and our table overlooked columbus circle. It was a table with a view! We were not rushed to order. We started out with a female server and after the appetizers we had a male server. The switchover was painless as they did not skip a beat. The service was great. There when needed but not intrusive. Four of us had the filet mignon, one had the rib eye and one had the braised lamb shank. All meals were excellent and cooked as ordered. Desserts were not large but just enough. Cappuccinos were served in a large cup and were delicious. We will be back.

As we were a group of eight they put us at the most bizarre shaped table I have ever sat it. Imagine the shape of an artist's palette. There was a gap on one end. We were surrounded by people having brunch with all their little children and it was impossible to talk. Not the place for grown up seeking a quiet brunch on a Saturday. Food was pretty good.
