A word from Hana Japanese Restaurant
Here at Hana Japanese Restaurant we will be introducing the authentic style of traditional sushi, Japanese cuisine, and wine-friendly foods. We stick to the fresh seasonal fish from Japan that is imported daily and the freshly grown local vegetables and meat. We also have local Napa Valley and Sonoma County Wine and chilled or warm sake that our chef hand-selects from Japan.

I love this place. It's a bit pricey but so worth it. I used Open Table for the first time and it is a great, convenient service.

Nice experience overall, however, a bit overpriced. Table side service could use improvement.

The food was great but the service wasn't as great...could have had better service with the waiter being more polite

  • Service was efficient, but

Service was efficient, but emotionless. Some diners like the automaton-style of service, but I don't care for it. The meals were timed poorly when served. The wait was about five minutes until all present had food to eat; this, however, is not totally uncommon in sushi restaurants, but it can sometimes be inconvenient. Prices were high, but the food was good. The decor was very tasteful, but this place is small and can be QUITE noisy due to overcrowding.

What a find! We chose this place because of its proximity to Spreckels Performing Center, but will make the trip to sample more of their extensive menu. We enjoyed an assortment of rolls suggested by our server. The ginger creme brulee was very creamy with just the right hint of ginger.

We had the $80 tasting menu and it was incredible. Everything very fresh and beautifully presented...many items we'd never tasted before and the yuzu fruit granite, one of the three desserts we had,was sublime. All four of us felt it was a very special meal and our waiter was most informative.

We have been to Hana many times, but most recently our waiter overcharged us on several items. Make sure you check the bill before paying. Otherwise, food was great as usual.
