This is one of our favorite places to relax, enjoy good food and the views of the Russian River. The staff is very accomedating and friendly. We took our parents to enjoyed a late brunch, the eggs benedict were perfect, but the crab cakes were too soft. This place it worth the drive to Monte Rio.

I brought my mother here for Mother's Day Brunch. The food was delicious and the outdoor dining area is beautiful with clear opening views of the russian river. A very quiet and excluded location also makes this a good spot for a romantic and peaceful getaway as well.

I would probably check "Great for Outdoor Dining" and "Scenic View" but it is winter and dark so the outside tables were not appropriate with this visit.Food was great we had salmon and grilled prawns.Service was attentive but not overly friendly.Wine list was quite impressive. My only problem was that the dining room was in the bar (they have another dining room but there were not enough diners to use it apparently) There were a couple of bar patrons who were having an expletive-laced conversation (not an argument but loud enough for us to hear every word) which was not something I prefer to listen to when I am paying $200 for dinner. If the restaurant is going to continue to have a bar they should seat the diners in the other dining rm.

Food was well prepared and tasty. Service a bit slow due to a large party that came in just after we did and only one overworked server. Our server was cheerful and did her best and we are sure that service would be better on another visit. Excellent salad and duck. The breaded pork chops were cooked to perfection and the breading appeared to be panko which was crispy and free on any residual oil. Beautiful setting with a view of the river. We will be back!

Service was amiable but a bit slow due to staff shortfall. food was nicely prepared and our dietary restrictions were accommodated nicely. Prime rib was not as tender as I hoped. not sure if it was the grade of meat or cooking technique. Duck however was succulent as were the nice green beans and mushrooms. Salad however was Drowned (not tossed) in tart, supposedly creamy, vinaigrette which tasted bottled to me. cheese plate was a nice ending as were the wine suggestions. We will visit again but will tiptoe through the menu carefully.

My crabcakes were divine and the green beans were perfect. The big pile of french fries was also tasty but I wish I hadn't eaten them all. A very crisp good salad was included with the main, making the meal very affordable for a white-tablecloth restaurant. Definitely one of the best options in lower Russian River area.

What a wonderful find this is for my husband and I. We sat on the back deck and enjoyed every bite of our experience from the relish and fresh bread, the Brie and Roasted Garlic started to the crab cakes and sole. Too full for desset, but we did check out the menu and would make a special trip to try out a couple. Our server was friendly, but not obtrusive. We didn't have to wait for anything and she made sure we were finished with one entree before bringing out the next. We can't wait to go back!

We recently ate at this lovely restaurant on the river. Excellent food, especially seafood. Very attentive service. Decent prices for a fancy meal in a somewhat pricey destination. Great views, including outdoor deck seating. Our area was a little noisy, but our server and the maitre'd both offered to move us to a quieter spot. We declined b/c it didn't bother us in the least. I would return and would also enjoy taking out-of-town guests. Highly recommend.

The food is good and the servings are large -- comfort food is what many would call it. The most memorable, however, is the view overlooking the river and landscape from the outdoor patio. If the weather is decent, this is the place to go for a gorgeous view. The sun sets a bit early here because it goes down behind a forest-covered hill ... so the ideal time to dine would be about an hour or so before sunset.

Such a beautiful location and the food was outstanding. Portions were so generous we definitely had plenty of food to take home for the next day's lunch. It was so warm, quiet and romantic. It was perfect. We have eaten at the Village Inn during the summer months and have had a window seat. The view is beautiful of the river and the redwoods. We would highly recommend the Village Inn. It is a great place tucked in among the redwoods along the river.

Beautiful setting, but a "less than memorable" Thanksgiving menu. The sea bass was poorly deboned, and the stuffing was incredibly dry--seemed more like a bag of bread crumb stuffing poured on the plate, then topped with the meat and some gravy. We had such high expectations after a wonderful anniversary meal there last year-but, we probably won't return to the Village Inn for any more special occasions. The wait service was pleasant, but not always on top of our needs (we never received more bread, and we waited a long time for her to return to request more cranberry sauce for the dry dressing. They have a beautiful old building and a lovely site-wish the food lived up to the setting!

We had a great experience at the Village Inn. Not only was the food excellent, but the service and view was fabulous. While we enjoyed tomatoe bisque soup, a beautiful view of the Russian river was right outside our window. A local Pinot Noir was a fitting partner to our perfectly cooked steaks along with interesting conversations with other diners. If we were locals, the delicious food, charming surroundings and friendly staff would keep us coming back.

This was a terrible experience. First we were seated late, but we sat in the bar. My drink was served incorrectly first, then watered down when served correctly. Saturday night and they were out of two main reasons for going out to dinner... out of salmon and prime rib and it was only 7:30. We were left with chicken livers and sausage and pasta which were not good at all. The service was SLOW... two and a half hours!! and orders were incorrect. If the waitress said she needed help one more time I was going to scream. The waitress did not say good bye as we left and neither did the owner who was busy counting receipts... I had to say good bye before he made a courteous response. We will not return.
