   I am gluten free when it comes to eating anything in the US but have found I can eat imported Italian flour with no issues- probably the pesticides or modified grains in the US. Everything they make is with authentic Italian flour so we ate it all...bread, pasta, pizza and it was incredible!!

   Great food, as always. Carlos was wonderful waiter. Very knowledgeable and super nice. Sitting on the sidewalk has little charm though.

   "Disappointments and one delight" best sums up our experience. The delight was dessert, which took forever to be served--one of the disappointments. We weren't charged for the dessert, and we didn't have to gripe to get it comped--the server apologized and said there'd be no charge. We also weren't charged for the calamari we ordered and never received--it didn't even make it onto our receipt, so apparently the fairly harried waiter never recorded it. However, we were charged plenty for the pizzas, neither of which was particularly warm when it arrived. The crust on my wife's was well cooked but soggy underneath, although mine held up to the unmelted Parmesan and cold arugula just fine. My wife's $13 glass of house chianti was OK but clearly overpriced; $7 for my Peroni seemed a little high, even in New York. The ambience was nice enough--families dining, kids frolicking, locals and tourists strolling past, combined with a sobering view of the North Tower memorial pool a couple of hundred yards in the distance at the World Trade Center site. We'd go back again to give Eataly another try, but it would be with trepidation.

   It was a perfect May Day at 70 degrees. Sitting outside was delightful and our waiter Michael made us feel so welcome and took very good care of us. Wonderful.
