I've been to Francesca's before. Nice restaurant, good food. Pretty popular place on the weekends so definitely make a reservation. We went on a Saturday and there was a wait at the bar. Luckily we had a reservation. My date was late so I had to wait to be seated, understandable. However, once he arrived we still had to wait 5 minutes with the host telling us we were next in line. Next in line?? We have a reservation. Maybe say "we are preparing your table now," sounds better. Our server was very pleasant, wish I remembered her name. My only other critique was the valet service. There was only one person taking tickets, parking cars, and going to get cars. Waited 20 minutes! There should be 2 people working :/

If you enjoy good italian food I wouldn't go here. And the ambience is poor. Too much like a bar. My husbands veal was way over cooked (tasted like a pork chop) and the linguine I ordered was very bland. We also ordered the calamari grilled and it was burnt and very rubbery and chewy. Service was OK, wine was OK and polenta fries were OK but those were the only positives. Great location and near our house but we won't be going back. Very disappointed.

We had never been to Francesca's Forno - and i have no idea why! We were going to a wine/chocolate event nearby and needed a place to eat - well, am I ever glad that I stumbled on FF! The whole evening - from the wait staff through all the food was splendid! Our unique cocktails started the evening perfectly... and the special bruscetta was indeed Special! Our entrees were the perfect size and the price was amazing. Great value and great location!

Having grown up on Italian food (coastal and northern) I am was delighted to find a place like this so close to home. Wonderfully rustic and cozy ambiance quite unexpected from the outside. The food itself was well prepared and delicious. However the music pumping out from the kitchen was a bit on the loud side making conversation challenging at times. It is also a bit on the expensive side leaning towards $50/person with a starter, main course, desert and a couple drinks so I would frequent it more for special occasions than as a regular spot. That said we are delighted to have it as an option in our neighborhood and will return in the future.

The food and drinks were very good. We ordered two appetizers (the mussels were delicious), old fashions (good strong drinks), and a meal each. The risotto and pork ragu pasta were very good (and really rich). The salmon was slightly dry. The weather was nice so the front large window was open and made the space feel bigger. The place was really loud, so if that bothers you, avoid this place but the ambience was lively and fun. I would go again.

Francesca Forno's changes their menu regularly. Some of the items that get changed out are outstanding and some are merely ok. So, the experience can change each time you go. This is some of the fun but also the drawback. We often make reservations because otherwise the wait can be substantial. The music choices can be strange and erratic. One time we went and they were playing classic rock and another time 80's pop. The service aims to please and is generally good but seems inexperienced. We like this place because it's reliably good, decently priced, and just a few blocks away from our house (walkable). It's lively and there is great people watching. They open up the windows in the summer and it's like you are sitting outdoors.

As a part of the Francesca's chain, I was expecting a bit more from the menu. The selections were few and quite different from the usual Francesca's fare. The portions were small. The bright spot was the service. John, the server, was very pleasant and efficient. Would recommend him highly.

When I asked what the other grapes were in the syrah blend, I should have known this was fit for a treat. The server was oblivious to us when we needed more to drink, bread especially, and whenever I needed something I had to get her attention. The swordfish was a little undercooked, but when they got it right it was awesome! great burrata as well. Tiramisu was good as well. I'd return, with hopefully a different server

Forno is my least favorite of the Francesca's chain. It's not that I've ever had a bad meal there, but it's never outstanding. It's not that the service is bad, it's just average, slightly lazy. On a positive note, it's got a stellar location at the six-points in Bucktown/Wicker Park, and they are open everyday for brunch/lunch, which is really convenient.

Hadn't been to this Francesca's prior to this (have been to other of their restaurants). Made last minute date night reservations here, mainly because there weren't many other choices. An average restaurant across the board -- food, service, and ambiance. Nothing bad, but with so many great restaurants in the area, no reason to choose FF.

The Francesca's franchise has an established level of acceptable quality. We were there for brunch with two small children. We choose it because we could make a rez and not stand in line. We thought there was way too much food on every plate and the food - even from the children's menu - was not suitable for kids (too much amaretto in French toast batter for me, let alone the 5-year old). Our waitress was notably great about our special requests, but we would have been much better off somewhere else that day.

This is one of our neighborhood staples and come here probably twice a month. The menu, while not huge, is ever-changing and there are always one or two daily offerings not on the menu. The variety of the seasonal menu as well as the rustic but refined ambiance are what keep us coming back. Due to the location, the dining area is somewhat limited so you can expect a wait if you pop-in, especially for dinner. We usually call ahead for a table and have never had to wait more than a few minutes past our reservation time. That said, as we left on Saturday night, I saw them setting up for a party of 10-12. There is a bar area but it is small, is completely open to the dining room and fills up fast, especially on Friday and Saturday nigh

I really think this is an underrated brunch spot in the neighborhood. I have twice tried to go to brunch at some of the "hot spots" in Wicker, but ended up coming here because the lines were too long elsewhere. There is rarely a wait longer than 20 minutes, and the food is creative and delicious. I love the Baked Egg Florentina and the Blueberry Ricotta Pancakes. I've been here multiple times. Food is normally wonderful, but on my last visit (when they were very busy) both mine and my dates entrees fell short of the mark. I had the calamari pasta and the pasta was far too undercooked which made it difficult to chew / enjoy. My date had the gnocchi and it had a rough odd texture ( under cooked and rushed ) most likely. Everything else was superb. Drinks, appetizers, and dessert was excellent and delicious.

Half of our party was a bit late so understandable that the server was a little slow to accommodate us, however it was a little frustrating since we were also placed in a back table. The food is pretty good. Pastas are awesome. Roasted veggie appetizer also simple and delicious. Crowd skews pretty young, and the place is very crowded and loud on a Saturday night. Appetizers are massive. (Or is it just that our table -- which was for a party of 6 but really should have seated 4 -- was so tiny that they felt huge?)
