I thought the food was great. Wonderful waiter too. Valet parking doesn't hurt either. It is REALLY noisy though. If you can get past the sometimes too loud music and the other patrons trying to talk over it, you'll enjoy

This a great restaurant with an elegant romantic touch to it. It also has a great bar area. The food was great! Everything we ordered tasted fresh and authentic. The dessert was absolutely scrumptious!! The wait staff/service was top notch! Best place we ate at while in the Bellevue Area. Couldn't have asked for anything better!!! Highly recommend!

    OpenTable Diner Since 2005

A group of four of us dined at Pearl on Friday, February 13th, for a birthday celebration. Overall the food was good, however, it would've been great to see more "healthier" options on the menue for entrees. The ambiance was a combination of super low lighting and a high level of chatter/noise - hence the reason why I wouldn't recommend for a large group. Above all, the service had to be the greatest component to the meal - the waitor was super familiar with the menu and made great recommendations for drinks, dinner and dessert. The other staff members seemed genuinely friendly as well. I would recommend visiting Pearl if you're looking for something similar to Joey's but with a friendly atmosphere and a different take on NW food.

Arrived on time for our reservation and had to wait about 30 minutes which we didn't find too appealing. After patiently waiting we were then seated at a sub par table location right at the very front. They certainly could have at least given us a decent table after waiting. Appetizers were very good, main course wasn't quite as expected in terms of preparation and left a little to be desired. Service once seated was great, ambiance was great too. We would go back and have appetizers and drinks at the bar, but not for dinner.

PEARL is a very decent restaurant, I can see it growing into a consistant go to place for that 'special occasion' places. Needs some work - the timing was a little off, I ate half my meal before my wine showed up, not that big of deal. I had the sablefish and loved it! im a stake guy and this was a perfect break from red meat, very tasty. My wife had the scallops, very tasty as well but more like a app. just scallops on a big bed of spinach. A solid 4 stars overall for now, I will need to explore the menu more. I will be back so i guess they did there job...right?

I went there for lunch with a friend recently and overall enjoyed the experience. The menu is interesting with a large number small plates as well as usual entrees. They way they price their food is appealing for the current recession economy, with the most expensive menu item $12 (looks like dinner is higher priced). I had their wild mushroom risotto which was quite good (though for my taste a tad heavy on the salt). I also had a squash with gala apple soup that wasn't on the menu which was also quite tasty. The place was quite busy during the lunch hour but service was good.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2006

I was very pleased with Pearl for many reasons. First we were seated at a round table in a small curtained room which made our "girls lunch" seem intimate and special even though we didn't request it. The furnishings are soothing and modern and the food was all very well prepared. The waitstaff was eager to accomodate special requests and although they were not busy, it was nice of the manager to stop by our table to inquire as to the occasion that brought us together. Lastly, for the quality, the price is very resonable. I will tell others abut Pearl and will return to dine again.

Went on a Saturday night. The bar was packed and loud, but the restaurant wasn't too busy. The prices were good, but the food was very bland. The steak had little flavor and was not properly done. The potatoes I had were beyond bland. Our appetizer of seared Ahi tuna was very good though. The salads were OK - just OK. The service in the bar and the restaurant was very slow. Our dinner order was wrong and items we ordered were not brought. I might go back again for drinks, but not dinner.

This is a great restaurant with a great menu. I don't understand why there aren't a lot of people dining there. I've been there 3 times and each time there have been tons of staff and few diners. Four of us went for dinner. We started with oysters which were great. For entrees I had scallops, another had Steak and the other two had sable fish. Both friends that had the sable fish were very pleased. it had a curried sauce but you would never know if that scares you. It was delicious. My scallops were hockey pucks even though I requested them slightly under cooked. They were served with a fried risotto which seemed to be REALLY fried. I thought I needed tarter sauce. My friend had a very tough steak even though it was medium rare.(we all tried it and agreed). I have never seen him not finish a meal but this was one. The service was okay, but I expected more for the price of the meals.

This was our first and perhaps only visit to Pearl. I was surprised that there was no soup on the menu. I ordered the tempura as an appetizer and it just didn't seem like real tempura. The batter was the consistency similar to the batter on onion rings. There was only one vegetarian dish (the mushroom risotto). It was pretty good. The comments from the rest of our guests was that it was "so-so". It definitely wasn't notable for the price.

What a disappointment. When our waiter asked us if we had been to Pearl before and we told her no, she said that the food was good and the service was exceptional. Not so. Food was okay but too many rich sauces. Our waiter brought us the food and disappeared before we could ask for missing utensils. She was hard to find all throughout dinner. Restaurant is too noisy for conversation.

The interior was very elegant and private. The drinks were excellent. Portion sizes were odd though. I had the duck and my entree with butternut squash was the size of my fist. My dining partner had the filet minon and the meat alone was that size of my whole meal, as were the garlic potatoes and mixed vegetables. The cost difference was $5 between the two.

Service needs major improvement. The bread we requested, with our salads(which apparently is only offered when requested) was served after we were done with our dinner entrees. Wine list limited but very overpriced. Food quality was good but portions were small for prices being charged. I think if this new owner doesn't fix things that they may end up like Trader Vic's...I hope not...

As anticipated for first week of restaurant opening, service was very attentive and everything was served quickly and with great flourish. If you're looking for an older-persons version of Joey's, Pearl has the makings of it, complete with attractive food, decor, and staff. The food, however, did not quite live up to the ambiance and service-hype which is somewhat concerning given that there were only 5 other parties in the restaurant and the restaurant is in its opening week.
