Wine served without tasting. First glass had to be sent back. Food was ok, but not great. Considering the price, I expected much more. Disappointing!

We stayed at the adjacent Grande Vista for a few days to play some golf. We had a horrible dinner....really not even worth 2 stars. Beef tips with very overcooked noodles, no flavor, no flair, no nothing. I had the steak salad with steak sauce dressing: tough, unflavorful meat, boring salad with about 4 times the dressing required. Other options there for breakfast were bleak so we returned the next morning. Breakfast was acceptable and served with no personality. There is a reason all the rooms have a kitchen at Grande Vista. Self-preservation.

Nick's has a good menu for a quick bite to eat or dinner. It is part of the Grands Vista Resort so it has a wide variety of offerings for kids to adults. Very convenient if staying at the resort.

  • Thanksgiving at Nick's
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 11/24/2011
While vacationing at the Grande Vista over Thanksgiving we were hoping to have a traditional meal without alot of effort. We settled on Nick's Grill for convenience sake. The only reservation we could get was at 1:30 in the afternoon even though when we were done at 3 the place was still half empty. While the food was good, it was, after all, a turkey dinner. We found the price rather high for this meal. It did include a salad and dessert, but still I did not feel it was worth $50 per person. If you don't mind spending alot for the convenience, Nick's was adequate for Thanksgiving, but there are plenty of other more affordable options.

The first night in a new place is always a little scary for dinner- guests are tired and cranky, ad choosing on faith. This on-Marriott property restaurant wold have been worth *driving* to - but we sure were glad it was so close, after flying 1500 miles!

I had the baby back ribs. The ends were a bit dried out, but the rest was good. The BBQ sauce was sweet and not real spicy. My dad liked that, but I could have done with a little more kick.

First went to Nick's grill about 5 years ago and was impressed with it so was looking forward to going there again on this trip. However I feel it has gone down hill since then and whereas before it had a "special" feel about the place and felt like the kind of place you would come as a treat this time it was very much run of the mill and no different to any other typical US restaurant.

Not really worth the money. A bit spendy! Some confussion if it's a sport's bar with restaurant or a restaurant with a sports bar. I guess some might want to watch the Golf Channel at the bar! The Service and the Waiter were great! Just need to get the food warmer and the heat on in the Dining area.

Very expensive for the quality of food which was very average at best. I guess the captive audience at the resort does not require the quality level of an independent restaurant. The food is really nothing special, but the service is pretty good and the view is great.

Made a reservation, spur of the moment, and we were able to get a reservation right away. This concerned us initially (thinking that it must mean that it wasn't very good!) but we were greeted and seated immediately and our waiter was wonderful and very attentive.. Food was very good, not great, but we all enjoyed ourselves and ended up going back for a wonderful breakfast the next morning...Staff was exceptionally friendly and we would recommend..

Started with a very good lobster bisque soup that was loaded with bits of lobster and actually served hot! We both had the prime rib special: a large cut and cooked medium-rare, as asked. Very nice. Vegetables were broccoli and cauliflower (yuck) and a blob of some kind of mashed potato that should have been used to mortar bricks. Drinks were pricey & wine list was very limited. Noise level: very high.

The service was good but the food was pretty standard. My wife had the ribs which were the special of the night and liked them. My penne with chicken and shrimp seemed dry from being heated by a warming lamp. The location is convenient and that's the only reason I'd go back. There are many much better restaurants nearby and require only a 2-3 mile drive. This isn't really dining it's satisfying a hunger pang and you only have to walk to it if you're staying at the Grande Vista complex.
