The restaurant was closed for construction. We had made plans to have the office Christmas lunch there and drove from Corona. No one told us that they would be closed. They were very gracious to help us making alternate plans.

Wonderful food, just not busy at all. Tried to call twice about a lunch reservation, then booked online with OpenTable. Went in and there was no one there? Only person was bellman in Hotel lobby. They were very nice and found someone for us, and from then on the service was great and food was wonderful. They should advertise more, and it would be a great lunch place.

Where to start? The decor is a true knockout, if you love the glamour of over the top "Hollywood Regency" decor you will be impressed. Gorgeous rich reds, glossy blacks, beveled mirror tiling, it's all here. The service was impeccable and friendly without being cloying or intrusive. Our cocktails were prepared just the way we liked them nice and potent. Everything we ordered was a feast for the senses. Presentation was top notch, and everything was prepared just so. A wonderful and special dining experience for a special occasion.

It's worth the extra money to dine or enjoy a cocktail at this restaurant inside the Riviera hotel. It's one of the most beautiful properties in all of Palm Springs. A must see, day or night! The restaurant and front of house staff were so pleasant, friendly, and accommodating that I wish I had stayed at the hotel instead of stopping by for a late breakfast or a cocktail the night before.

This resturant was amazing! The food was exceptional! Very tasty and cooked to perfection. The staff was great, whether it was our waiter or other employees just passing by- they would ask how we were and if we needed anything. They had very personable attitudes and would also chat with us. I will definitely go back.

Its my 3rd time dining here, the food is excellent but the service is questionable. We always wait about 10 minutes before anyone even comes by, then this time the waiter came by and offered water, and was doing his pitch for bottled water, and we said just regular, and he snuffed his face and said "TAP", we were kind of shocked. Like I said food is always excellent but I would suggest you take some of the staff from the SIDEBAR and bring them over to get the great level of service you would expect at this restaurant. Definitely have the mussels, and the roquefort crusted filet.

What a lovely restaurant. We had a fabulous evening while on holiday in Palm Springs. The decor in the restaurant is beautiful and that's just the start of it. The food was amazing, from start to finish, the wine (half price on a Sunday evening)was perfect and the staff (especially Brent) could not have been more pleasant or helpful. Our waiter gave us so much information about the Riviera Palm Springs that it made our visit very special. It was probably the best night of our whole holiday for all of the above reasons.

  • Beware of VERY pricey drinks
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008VIP
    Dined on 5/24/2012
The restaurant would have garnered a better rating except the drinks were "outrageously" priced. We order the same brand of liquor every where and here it was priced at almost double. This is a shame as the bar could be a scene if you like the modern decor style. This could explain why the restaurant was dead as was the bar on a Friday night of Memorial day weekend. The food price was fair and the taste was good. We tried the scallops, cauliflower, barramundi and short ribs. All were very good except for the short ribs which were very dry. We had the sticky toffee pudding desert and it was not good at all. The home made ice cream that came with the desert was very good. The service was very good.

The Riviera has a past cache and a present luxe aspect to it because of the stunning remodel a few years ago that transformed the 60's icon resort into a chic retro destination resort that literaly transforms from posh hotel during the day to romantic and hip playland at night. I've always enjoyed taking my clients or out of town friends and guests because of all of the above AND becasue of the inventive, well executed, and delicious menu & food; I just wish they could get thier restaurant wait staff up to the pare of the rest of the establishment. Aweful, disappointing and rude.

The hotel is very hip, with a funky vibe. We were very hopeful upon arrival at the restaurant based on the decor. When we arrived, the host seemed to have trouble seating us, despite our on-time reservation. The inside of the restaurant is small, with several additional tables in an area that is part inside/outside separated by a plastic divider. They tried to sit us next to the plastic divider with the outside temps 48 degrees. We really cold, so asked to be seated inside. We were told 30-45 minutes for a table by a rude hostess. Immediately after she said it, we saw a table get up to leave. Once sat, our waiter was very nice- though the service very slow. Our foot was very good. Based on the host/hostess and service, was disappointed.
