    OpenTable Diner Since 2006

The Appetizers were wonderful and very generously proportioned. I had the kahula pig with butter lettuce loved it, my husband had the sashimi and it was excellent. Did not really have much room for the entre after apps. I had the hawaiian swordfish for the entre and it was ok did not blow me away, my husband had the whole fried fish and all though it was pretty to look at a little hard to eat and it lacked a bit of seasoning. I went with my family for mothers day they only had one item that was kid-friendly and that was buttered noodles with cheese and my daughter was not to thrilled with it. Should have more options for kids. Other than that I had a good overall experience would definitely go again for the appetizers.

The main problem I had with the Butterfly was that we were not told in advance that there would be a 18% gratutity added to our meal of 3 adults and 1 child. Our waitress was very rude when we questioned the amount, she snatached the bill from us but the GM happily removed the amount. We did however tip the waitress which was not warented due to ther lack of service and experence as a waitress. I was also very disappointed that I had to ask for our table to be cleaned from leftovers on the floor from the previous guest. It was horrible. I can't believe that the busperson didn't see the mess left under and around the table. I have eaten at Buttlerfly before and the service has always been good. I hope the next experience is better.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 5/11/2008
We went there for a pre fixe mother's day brunch. The waitress left us sitting at the table for almost half an hour before she took out order, and the restaurant was not full, plus it was pre fixe, how hard is it to write down choice A or B? On the Amuse Bouche plate the tuna poke was frozen and absolutely disgusting. We told the waitress and she said she would tell the chef, but thats as far as it went. My lobster bisque was bland with over cooked shrimps and nary a taste of lobster. My steak was pretty good, but nothing special, and the desert was also uninspired. They added a 4% tax for health care then added in an 18% gratuity for our party of 3. I'm sorry but our waitress was so bad she did not deserve that 18%. Dissapointing.

We tried your restaurant after viewing the food/beer pairing program on cable TV. At Butterfly, the food was very good - some interesting innovations and all fresh and clean presentations. Unfortunately, the delays and the service was far too chaotic for a potentially excellent Mother's Day dining experience. It was also bad form to have the decor vendors on-site taking measurements of the interior space during the brunch period. Instead, why not have some live musical accompaniment to take the edge off a two hour challenge? We were also puzzled by the billing of a health care surcharge. We may try again on a non-holiday to enjoy the food/beer pairing concept.

Well, they messed up my girlfriends order as she ordered ribs with no nuts, and the ribs they brought her had lots of nuts. We ordered a bowl of rice that came out in a tea cup (not very fulfulling), and the dried peas they offered us as an appetizer was disgusting. But besides those things, the place was nice and had a great setting. The service was very cordial, and the nightclub that opened shortly after we ate was really nice.

I just went for lunch here a couple of weeks ago and it was so good that I brought my husband back for dinner. We love unusual appetizers which there are lots of and so we didn't order a main course. All were delicious. The prices may seem high to some but the portions were quite large. The location and view on the water are a bonus too. Fusion is my favorite kind of food and Butterfly does not disappoint. Great chocolate dessert also. We went to Kaboom for the 12th time after but my husband couldn't stop talking about our dinner. It was his high point of the evening.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2007

Food was ok. The lack of service ruined it. We were seated next to a table in which one fof the patrons was a famous local athlete who absorbed all the service around us. He even had a dedicated wine pourer. Pehaps we should have ordered a few glasses of merlot? Although our bill was $250+ for 4 people, it wasn't enough to get our main entrees within 45 mins AFTER our appetizers were served. The "star" table had servers visiting every 5 mins, almost the entire kitchen staff (less the dishwasher)came out to greet him. His food practically flew out of the kitchen instantly. Where's our thanks? Oh thats right, we're not famous. If I ever decide to return, I'll be sure to call in advance to see if anyone famous is there.

This is a rare find...an upscale, delicious restaurants that you can take kids to because it is not stuffy. Butterly has a large, open, modern decorated space with clean lines and bright colors. The tables are spaced far enough apart from each other that you feel like you have enough room to move around --which is what makes it kid friendly. The spacious environment makes it easy to bring a noisy toddler who won't disturb the other diners. Ask for a table by the window so that you can enjoy the view. But don't get me wrong, this is not a kid's place by any stretch of the imagination (we just happened to see some kids there). My husband and I went there on a date without our baby on a date and it was lovely. The food was wonderful!
