Food and service was excellent. We have been all over the North End and this is one of the best. Veal Saltimbucca and Lobster Ravioli were excellent. Cannoli was fresh. Service people (Waiter and bus boy) were funny and friendly.

I have been to Nico on a few different occasions. I held a large event (Bridal shower) there and had family dinners when my parents came into town. I think I become more and more impressed with this place everytime I come. In fact my father specially requested we go here out of all of the restaurants in the north end. It is such a great setting. The food in fantastic and the service you cannot find anywhere else. Just when you think you know exactly what you want, there is a special, or a reccommendation from your server that makes your head do a 180. Nico is very reasonably priced, which you dont tend to see a lot in the north end. This is a great spot for a fun evening.

The food was good, but the service was only average. The staff randomly bussed our water glasses away before we were even done eating, and I wasn't able to have a cappuccino after dinner because the waiter said they weren't serving coffee, only espresso, but the table next to us was able to order cappuccinos?? What was up with that?

Nico's was a great recommendation from a co-worker. It can be hard to find the right place in the North End. The wait-staff was extremely polite and made great suggestions about the menu. The Sangria is made with Citron... and is soooo delicious! I loved the romantic atmosphere but was extra psyched about the big screen TVs! I could watch the basketball game and still have a nice dinner with my date.

Made reservations at Nico for NYE and it was by far one of the best experiences EVER. The food was incredible. We had a bunch of apps that were amazing. I ordered the seafood fettuccini special, which was out of this world. The seafood was probably the freshest I've ever had, and i grew up practically on the beach in RI. Our waiter Giovanni was spectacular and we had a blast. He truly made ringing in the new year special.

We went on Christmas Eve with our son and his 2 1/2 year old and 5 year old. They had just flown in from Oregon so they were tired and had sat for a long time. We were seated downstairs and the waitress turned the music off for us because my husband is hard of hearing and would not have heard anything with it on. We had a great dinner, were comfortable and were treated very well.

I loved how friedly and attentive the staff was. Even if your waiter wasn't around, others were always looking out for you and were more than willing to jump in and help out with getting you anything you needed. I feel like that type of service is sometimes hard to find in the North End.

The staff was exceptional here. Our waiter was Bruno and he was on top of his game with suggestions. We all enjoyed the meatballs, the salad with cheese from Naples & our entrees. Our table was downstairs. We did feel a bit like we were in a basement but the advantage is it was quiet and we were able to hear ourselves talk. I was disappointed that there was no disco ball and no disco videos on the flat screen TV's upstairs. Apparently it got too noisy so they have eliminated both. From previous reviews it seemed like it did get a little crazy with the dancing. The place is very small so I can see how it could be a problem. However I think it is a great idea, maybe they can find a larger location!

The hostess, waitstaff, and bartender were all very welcoming, and really made you feel as though you were a VIP when you walked through the doors. The restaurant was recently re-decorated, and the new decor is very elegant, but sparkly and fun. The bar is beer, wine and cordials only, but the bartender is very creative and can make wonderful specialty pre-dinner cocktails. The wine list is very adequate and good value, and the food was all extremely fresh and flavorful, and also very good value. We had a wonderful evening, and will be making many more trips to Nico!

The service was excellent, and at my last minute request the maître d’graciously split off a table for 2 in the more quiet lower level. Servers were extremely pleasant and professional. The food was fantastic. The meatballs were authentic and the pasta was homemade and delicious. I had called 2 hours ahead of my reservation to request that a birthday dessert be delivered to the table following the meal, and my only disappointment was that it never showed up. Regardless, I am looking forward to my next visit!

Overall a very good experience. The food and the service were great. The special appetizer (arugula salad) was AWESOME as the seafood special (1/2 lobster). The service was more than accomodating. My only complaint was the door opening and closing so much, letting in all the cold air to the tables upstairs. Not sure how that could be remedied...maybe a curtained off area? Special kudos to the valet team who accomodated our rather late exit. :-)

A very enjoyable experience. The food was amazing, the service great, and the ambiance was lively without being too overwhelming. The wine served was also very enjoyable. Not an extensive list per se, but good quality (something I have come to expect in th North End). Cons were a bit of a walk from the T (near the end of Hanover st. so about 7-10 min walk), and requires a deep pocket. These 2 issues though are not so much cons as they are limitations. If these do not bother you, as they should not given the nature of the beast, I highly recommend Nico's and will be returning there soon.

We had exceptional service and we're seated promptly at our reservation time. We only tried the entrees, but they were excellent and well priced. We were seated downstairs, which was a drawback. There was a large screen TV on the entire time with the big blue LG screen. It was distracting and detracted from the overall ambiance. The Rigatoni alla Sal was exquisite. We'll definitely be back.

We were cramped and it was so loud, it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Service was marginal. The atmosphere upstairs seemed like it would have been fun, however, they need to focus alot more on improving customer service. I would not go back nor would I recommend to my friends.

Nico was highly recommended by a friend who loves Italian food and disco music. I was intrigued enough to try it and took four of my girlfriends with me. We were so glad that we did! The restaurant is cozy with a great open view of Hanover street and the fire station. The decor and music videos fun, as well as a flat screen at the bar to see the Sox. The food was excellent! The best Caprese salad ever. All of our appetizers were delicious as well as the entrees. We were full after the appetizers and we all ended taking most of our meals home. The cocktails were great and the wine list had a nice selection of reds and whites. The wait staff was attentive, Italian and very cute. I am looking forward to going back!

Nico was disappointing. Same owner as Strega which we love, but a world of difference. Gum snapping hostess greeted us yet would not seat us at reserved time. Crowded bar, tables were free but are allocated for those that are VIPs. Reservations really don't matter. Food was expensive and mediocre. Nico is known for their meatballs. Our waiter brought us a big dish as we sat down (we were starving and ready to dive into anything.) Meatballs were okay, we disliked them and the waiter less when we saw them listed later on our check. Seems they are brought to every table and added to each check regardless if you order them or not - which we did not. We were not thrilled. Put aside some extra money for a nice dinner and go to Strega.
