Such a fun experience. The food was superb - the combinations of flavors blended well with the textures, making each bite exciting - especially since you couldn't see what was on your fork, each bite was a fun and flavorful surprise! My party laughed through the experience. The service was great and engaging. We wouldn't have known what to do without the help of our server! I especially enjoyed the cruditee platter and the guessing game. I recommend the beef option - I haven't had such a good cut of meat at a restaurant in a while, seeing or not seeing!

Opaque was an interesting experience. Our waitress was great and the food was better than we expected. Dining in the dark is worth the experience, but maybe only once because it is expensive (over $600 for our family of 5). Our only problem was an obnoxious group at another tabel that kept opening their cell phones and disrupting the experience for the rest of us.

From the auditory changes as your glass fills, to the pressure differences as your knife and fork traverse the plate, this is truly an experience for the senses. The food wasn't exceptional as it lacked a true melding of flavors, however it was adequate.

Great dining experience. Since your eyes are no longer useful, the other senses awaken. You also understand for a brief time the daily experience of your servers. The service was great and the food was very tasty! Can't wait to return.

It's completely dark. And it's complete & utter privacy - it was just the two of us and nothing else distracts; the perfect date place for a partner you've already known for a few months. Do not go there on a first date because smelling, hearing & feeling is really all you got there for interaction. And obviously, don't go in big groups, with parents or with biz partners - will be strange. Summary: - Wonderful ambiance - Food was great; very good steak & chicken. - Wine list is very short but crisp. - Assume that you'll get some gravy on your shirt. - Make sure to go to the toilet BEFORE you sit down; ruins the experience otherwise. - Pricing is out of this world - ~$150/person is simply too much. - Overall a wonderful experience

As it was one of the most unique ideas I had ever read, my husband and I wanted to go. The only real question I had was "was it PITCH black?" Yes it is. No matter how close you hold your fork to your face you can't see it. Our waitress was delightful with a confident, soothing and quiet manner and she made it all so natural. The food??............It was great! I enjoyed ever bite and am sure we'll go back again.

Opaque was truly a unique dining experience. Something to try with a special friend or group of friends. Very dis-orientating when you are COMPLETELY in the dark. You have to keep track of where you keep items on your table and you tend to talk to each other more when trying to share food. Don't get too frisky on a date because the neighboring tables are quite close to each other. Good for a group that wants to try something different and have something to talk about afterwards. Beef dish was tender and chocolate desert was delicious. Kind of hard to finish off your plate completely as you'll have to fumble around with your fork to listen and feel for any remaining bits. I'd definately recommend this place to a friend.

The service, waitstaff and food was great. I think the "dark" had a lot to do with it, but nonetheless, I was impressed. The darkness made the experience unique - though this is not a meal for relaxation. You're definitely acutely aware of everything. The downside: there was a couple having intercourse right next to us. That's right, sex (the sounds were absolutely unmistakable...) It was AWFUL! The other patrons & waitstaff were understandably uncomfortable, and unfortunately, the female part of the sex-romp was aggressive and mean (the pair was very drunk.) Though I usually have no problem speaking up, I was less confident in doing so because the darkness is a little unnerving when approaching hypersexual, drunk and aggressive women.

We had a brand new server, that kept forgetting things...and there was a group of drunk out of towners celebrating a birthday...with the absence of sight the other senses kick into full gear and the noise from the obnoxious table was amplified. The table for two felt really big making it challenging to connect with my date. Other than that it was a very unique experience, but I won't reccomend it due to the price. $65 a person for the food options and quality of service would be much more reasonable and something I would feel confident in sharing with others, but $99 pp plus a bottle of wine & tip made it a $300 meal that didn't quite feel right.

Please turn on the ventilation systems! For a venue that is about exciting you senses, it should not be hot, stuffy, and smelly. For the prices charged, I expect complete comfort.

It was a very interesting experience. The room seemed very small, however, and with a large group in there, the noise level intolerable. Our server was great, however.
