The Red Lion Inn is one of the my happy places. This time a friend and I had lunch in the booth in the tavern. It was private and quiet. The menu selection was excellent and we loved salads, though I did think the salad serving was a bit skimpy, a change from the usual over-sized dishes. Over all, a wonderful and unique place where it seems appropriate to pay a premium price.

We’ve eaten dinner here a few times before when staying, and it has always been good; but I must tell you the meal last night was exceptional. The wedge salad was beautifully presented and tasty, and the entrees were delicious: my wife’s bucatini was excellent and the special duck was just amazing, with the honey glazed carrots—perhaps the best duck dish I have had anywhere (and I am a duck fanatic).

The Red Lion Inn never disappoints. We've been dining and staying there for more years than I can remember and have never had anything but a wonderful experience. We love the casualness of Widow Bingham's Tavern, but the Main Dining Room is bright, lovely and perfect for any occasion. The wait staff is always the perfect blend of friendliness, good advice when asked and just the right balance of attentiveness. The menu offers a blend of comfort food and creativity, every option being beautifully presented and, most importantly, a delight for the palate. The Red Lion has been our go-to and will remain so.

A day trip to the Lenox/Stockbridge area should always include The Red Lion Inn. In our case, it was for lunch. A very pleasant break for a good meal - the Fish & Chips and Lobster Roll were both simply satisfying. The staff is friendly, polite and efficient. In short, The Red Lion Inn is a “must visit” when in the area.

Had option between Main Dining Room and Tavern, opted for Tavern. Wanted a relaxing experience combined with same food options. Have to say the turkey pot pie was the best I've had. A vegetarian would be pleased with options available. A pleasant experience.

The ambience and history was wonderful, and it was disappointing that the food was not. I had the smash burger (greasy) with fries (a bit cold and hard); my friend had the signature turkey sandwich. She thought the turkey seemed processed and the dressing was terrible. I hope they can do better in the future. I quite enjoyed being there, otherwise.
