Lovely French restaurant, excellent service, almost a throwback to an earlier era of fine (but not fussy) French food and good service. Quite enjoyable. Excellent French and Italian red wines.

Best service I think I've ever had. Food was spectacular and reasonably priced, absolutely charming atmosphere with just the right touch of ambiance. I would go there every night if possible...

    OpenTable Diner Since 2006

I walked into this place with tea from Starbucks next door and asked by the receptionist immediately if I had alcohol in my cup, I stated no it was green tea and that i did not drink alcohol. He wanted to inspect my cup which I gave willingly, already a uncomfortable situation because it was not like i was a walk in off the street, i had made these reservations a few days earlier. The place was loud, not romantic as reviewed, the curtains I was sat next to were filthy and laden with dead bugs. The food was dry when it should have been juicy (meat) and the sides were wet mush. The food was over priced and the service was questionable at best. I will never eat here and recommend you go to McDonalds before stopping here and wasting your money

  • My wife and I celebrated her

My wife and I celebrated her birthday; and were so very delighted with its food quality, preparation, and value. It offers a romantic atmosphere with kind and genuine staff. It was a real treat. They've been there over 14 years and we had never heard of them! What a find - its tucked away in a strip mall of sorts, but go inside and enjoy a great dining experience! My wife and I had the Lobster special and also enjoyed a crab appetizer and wine. Knowing it was my wife's birthday from the message I sent on OpenTable, the host made a special dessert just for us to share. He seated us in a room away from others for privacy. It was truly a wonderful experience - we will be back. The menu has a wide range of options.

Food was alright, we went for our anniversary. We were annoyed by the owner or host with his paternalistic attitude. We are in our mid 40s, when we walked int he average age in the room dropped like a stone. Lots and lots of elderly people. We had read that this was the msot romatic restaurant in Fairfax. I would not say romantic, I would say geriatric. We will not be back and in the future will dine in Arlington or the district.

Cafe Renaissance continues to provide a memorable experience in dining. The quality of the food, and its presentation are consistently high. The wine list is excellent, with many good bottles at $40 or less. The Restaurant is quiet, conducive to easy conversation.

A return to Cafe Renaissance is always a highlight for us. Their flaming steak Diane is hard to resist and this time as always it was superior. We always feel very special and attended to when we dine at Cafe Renaissance.

Every party that arrived was treated with the same gracious welcoming greeting whether a frequent diner or a first time visitor. That says volumes for a restaurant! The sample of the pureed pea soup with crab was wonderful. The chicken and veal dishes are consistantly good; and, because it was a Birthday celegration we were treated to a complimentary Banana's Foster desert which was not only delicious but fun to watch being prepared. We'll go back soon.

I think this place is best for seafood. anything that was seafood was out of this world good and eveything else was just g00d. Very classical French style that was very appealing. They even decanted the wind for us.

Very very Old fashion food. Loaded with butter( way too much) Escargot had no flavor just buttery. Fish and scallops were so oily, potato had more than enough garlic to kill 10 vanpires. Very old building with old decor! Smelled mildew! Just very old fashion home style meal. Not going back there again

Because of the distance from our residence we do not dine here often, but this quaint, romantic restaurant remains among our top dozen Northern Virginia places to dine--particularly on special occassions. Tucked into a small shopping strip on Vienna's main street, don't be deceived by its exterior; Cafe Rennaisance is a true neighborhood gem. Warm and hospitable, the food is consistently well prepared, nicely presented and ample--but never too much. The waiters are pleasant, professional and do not rush you to leave, even after you've clearly finished dining.

  • Cafe Renaissance is a neighborhood
    OpenTable Diner Since 2005
    Dined on 8/13/2008
Cafe Renaissance is a neighborhood gem offering a wide range of Italian and French dishes, prepared and presented with the gastronomic flair of a restaurant that cost five times as much. The ingredients are superior and the wine list is fantastic. The owner is very attentive and will happily respond to any request or resolve any concern. The Irish coffee may actually be the best in the world... i have had none better... and it is prepared in a manner that is both dramatic and romantic. Table side preparations are performed exquisitely. Highly recommended!

  • We always enjoy Cafe Renaissance.

We always enjoy Cafe Renaissance. Because this is an expensive restaurant (for our budget, at least), we usually reserve going there for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries). It is a very nice restaurant and is among our top three for special occasions. The food is always excellent and service is very good. Once, a few years ago, they had a young violinist playing among the dinner-time diners, and it was quite memorable and entertaining. My only recommendations for improving the experience of diners is to use warm plates for the hot food on and to warm the otherwise-excellent bread. We will return, for sure.

It's a small place and can get noisey, but given the quality of the food and service, not a problem. I onced lived in the area and found the Cafe Renaissance a great place to have business meetings or just a great meal with my wife. I moved away 5 years ago and this was my first chance to return; this time for meeting a couple folks for business discussions. Still a superb place to eat. The service is exceptional.
