This is the 3rd time we've dined at One Bellevue. Each time it was excellent. This time we had a coupon for a free app and it was wonderful! The few times we had a fix course meal which was excellent and the time before we had a valentines special meal which gave me lots of points with the wife. I totally recommend dinning here.

We have been extremely disappointed with Easter Brunch at One Bellevue . The lady at the reception was cold and made us wait to see if she could accomodate us even though the room wasn't full. The buffet was rather poor and couldn't compare to a few -cheaper- ones around Boston we have been to. The room is cold, totally impersonal and noisy. We shan't go back.

Went to One Bellevue as a different place than our usual newport restaurants to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. The service was great and the food was excellent. Some of the best steak tartare I've ever had. Salads were great and tuna entree as well. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a quiet but excellent dinner in Newport.

The foot at One Bellevue was absolutely outstanding and a nice surprise! The menu boasted steaks, asian inspired dishes and plenty of seafood. Everything our group ordered was outstanding from the NY Sirloin, to the Bacon wrapped Filet to the Scallop and Shrimp Pad Thai. Appetizers were excellent and different from the norm with a few outstanding old standby's - vidalia onion soup was the best I've had! Crab cakes were good, and the steak tartare was excellent! Spinach salad was also a pleasant surprise! Desserts were all tasty. All our food was very fresh. Service was great. Ambiance was good, though wish it was little brighter and music a little lower. Will return again!

We were in town for a reunion of sorts and wanted a relaxed, but wonderful dinner. We found both at One Bellevue. The food was exceptional. We started with the foie gras appetizer and the Wasabi Tartare. The foie gras was the standout. Perfectly cooked over a wonderful warm bread pudding. The tartare was good but a bit overwhelmed by the wasabi sauce. For main course, The rack of lamb was cooked to perfection, the porcini risotto was wonderful. The asparagus were a bit over cooked but still seasoned well. We had the lobster in truffle butter. It was sublime. Lobster cooked to perfection, a wonderful light sauce and gnocchi that were as light as pillows. Overall a wonderful experience. Our waiter was great, but he hovered a bit too much.

My wife and I went for a romantic dinner, and we both agreed that was what we accomplished. This is a very beatiful, classically decorated restaurant set inside a remarkable historic hotel. The lighting was done well, and the music was at just the right volume. We were a little disappointed when my wife's filet mignon (ordered medium well) came out quite charred. I am sure the staff would have corrected it had we asked, but we decided not to make anything of it. Everything else was outstanding: from the first course all the way to dessert. One Bellevue's strongest quality is its service. Our server and the rest of the staff were true professionals. A very pampered experience; would defintely return.

The food was superb. The atmosphere was elegant and extremely romantic. We were seated in a lushly appointed corner of this restaurant where we could have a quiet time all on our own. We ordered the lamb chop w/ the bernaise sauce.. excellent not to be missed... Also ordered (2) small portions( love this idea) the cider chicken breast w/ risotto and the salmon.. both were a culinary WOW!!! Would return to this local in a heartbeat...The Reisling was a perfect match for these two dishes. Did not even have a small space for dessert, but we remedied that the next night by coming in for just coffee and dessert.. Delish!!!

One Bellevue was outstanding, and quite inexpensive. My wife and I got out of there for less than $200 with a bottle of wine. I find that quite an accomplishement in Newport. They even let me bring a bottle of wine and didn't charge me a corkage because of my other bottle purchase. Of note on the menu was the scallop appetizer and the foie gras appetizer. My wife had the tuna and I had the macadamia-goat cheese crusted lamb. Everything was perfectly cooked and well executed. Service was great, the place was quiet, although the techno-laced background music didn't really fit the decor. I would come back in a heart beat. It's nice to have somewhere other then The Mooring, Castle Hill, 22 Bowens and The Spiced Pear to go. Highly recommended

The night we went for our reservation, the restaurant was rather quiet. Although there were a lot of empty tables, the hostess seated us at the closest table to both the kitchen & the entrance. We found the seat to be a little noisy. We stuck with it and the service & food more than made up for the seating. We had a waiter, Tom, who was superb in every way. We had the crab cake appetizer to start and it was excellent. My wife had the pear salad and I had the mixed baby greens salad, we both loved them. Very fresh, great flavor. For dinner my wife had the lobster and I choose the NY Strip, both cooked to perfection and one of the best meals we've had in a long time. We finished with a bread pudding desert that was divine. Don't miss it!!

The restaurant has a very romantic atmosphere, but the noise level was very high due to the location of the bar to the dining room. Then on top of that they had music playing. The appetizers were bland and our waiter brought us the wrong entrees. He apologized and we eventually had some great lambchops and beef. However, our sides were not good (hard risotto and we asked for spinach and got asparagus). Our dessert molten lava cake was 100% dense...no lava flowing! The wine list as extensive, but overall we did not enjoy our meal.

I took my husband to One Bellevue as part of a getaway weekend to celebrate his birthday. We reserved a table a few days in advance and were seated promptly upon arrival in a corner booth, which was very cozy (but the upholstery could use a good cleaning/updating). Our waiter and the support staff were friendly and attentive. The menu offerings were a bit limited and there were no specials; however, the meals we chose were outstanding in every way. Presentation, choice of ingredients, and of course taste. The portions were not overly large but that was just fine with us. Based on the quality of the food we were pleased with the price, as we have paid more for meals that didn't come near the food at One Bellevue.

The good news is that we had a coupon. The bad news is that we had a coupon. Since we had a coupon we decided to try appitizers, salad and an entree. The appitzers were very good...I had the onion soup which was excellent. My mixed salad was OK as it had parts of iceberg lettuce in it. I had the Australian lamb which was cooked perfectly and my wife had the half plate of lobster ( I liked the idea of half plates). We were stuffed. Too much food so we skipped dessert & coffee. Now the bad news about the coupon. It was for 25% off, but the house computer could only go in 10% increments so we lost out on 5% & only after I looked at the bill & saw initially only 10% off. Overall very pleased & would go again....Jared

My girlfriend and I were very disappointed with our dinning experience at One Bellevue. We chose the Autumn Pre- Fixe meal for $65 per couple and we added an appetizer and a desert to it along with additional wine. Total bill $118 w/o tip. The appetizer, crab cakes were small and simple without any special flavor (not worth $13). The clam chowder was tasty but had the consistency of thick glue with an odd color with only two small pieces of clam and two odd shaped potato chunks. The mixed green salad was good although it could have used a bit more dressing. The lobster dinner was a joke with just about 2 ounces of lobster mixed in with odd shaped bits of unidentifiable produce, dried out cheese all without any special flavor. My lamb chops

We were sat in a corner booth. The main light of the resturant was over this booth where you felt like there was a "spot light" on you. We asked to please dim the light above us as it was hard to see each other. We were told it would ruin the other patrons lighting. So, besides the food being really great, etc. the lighting completely ruined our dinner, we could not wait to leave!!!

Ambiance is not great; it's a large open space room on the walkway from check-in to other dining areas. Service not great. Servers "convinced" me the special dish would be better than the regular tuna dish with more food and more flavor. It wasn't but the price tag was nearly double. For a shared plate of crab legs, we received one lemon napkin for clean up and requested a second-it was slow to come when it should have been there. My appetizer fork was taken away and never replaced. Food is average. Lamb dish was large and good, but not great. Tuna special, to which I was sold b/c of the lentils, was nothing special as the lentils were not well cooked and mucked up with too much cheese added to them. Expectations of a WS level rest not met.
