Under new management, this location by Evergreen Lake finally has food and service worthy of the great scenery. We've dined there several times and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Unlike several previous managements in this space, Curtis and Kristopher have actually trained the waitstaff and (finally) installed a real chef in the kitchen. Evergreen has been a desert for good dining experiences for years, but the drought is over. Wonderful salad green and dressings, a really excellent pastrami sandwich and braised rabbit with pappardelle all stand out. Wines range from economical but decent (including by the glass) to some very respectable bottles in the cellar. Evergreen and surrounds should welcome and support this newcomer!

  • Such a disappointment-Evergreen
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009
    Dined on 5/29/2010
Such a disappointment-Evergreen needs a quality restaurant. The lamb was tough and grisly, the trout mediocre. The homemade mozzarella was so-so and to charge 50 cents for two additional pieces of "toast" is sad. There were a lot of staff running around, yet the service was not good--the water boy came up to fill our half-full glasses as we were leaving?..why?... we waited forever for our additional toasts for our appetizer, and then they arrived as the entree did. My husband wanted mint sauce yet the server did not return to our table for many minutes after we finally got our entree. It is a lovely location but the food and servie needs some serious attention.

The service needs a lot of improvement. One person takes the order, and then someone else delivers the food - that person didn't even know what the food was; asked us whose dish it was, we said what was it, and he didn't know. Also we had a person with a medical condition that couldn't eat certain food; but the food came out with the offending item.

  • Having enjoyed this restaurant
    OpenTable Diner Since 2010
    Dined on 5/22/2010
Having enjoyed this restaurant under its old name, we were pleasantly surprised that the food and service were even better under new management. The manager is very personable and helpful, and kudos to the chef. Everything we had was first-rate. As an example, two of our party had "vegetable lasagna" and I expected the ordinary chewy square thing; what a nice surprise that there were fresh vegetables strewn on top of the pasta, with an absolutely delicious sauce. At last, inventive treatments of old favorites. We didn't sit on the balcony with its gorgeous view because it was windy at noon, but the interior dining room is beautiful and light-filled, and also provides the view. We loved our experience.

what an amazing eating experience! The restaurant has very large windows which offer a great view of Evergreen Lake. The walls have beautiful art from local artist. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They all worked together to make the guest have a wonderful time. My wife and I drove from Littleton CO to celebrate our wedding anniversary and would go back to celebrate again or the next time we are in the area. The food was amazing and everything came to the table perfect amd the wait time was not too long. At the end of the meal the staff actually take the time to had write your bill on a Willow Creek Restaurant card which make a very nice keep sake. Overall great restaurant and I will recommend to to everyone I know!

Excellent food and service for a new restaurant. The food was well presented and served in a timely manner. The food is excellent and the menu is innovative. The service was a little slow mainly due to the success of the restaurant and the over taxing of the wait staff. Another server or two and another buser would help. I definitely recommend the Aspen Grill for its food, wine and location. Further, this is my first experience with Open Table and it has been positive.

I am sorry to tell you, but I was very disappointed with your restaurant. My food was not cooked the way I requested and had to be sent back. The handle of my coffee cup was broken and split which could have spilled hot coffee all over me had I picked it up without realizing it. When ever something had to be replaced or recooked it took a long time for the waiter/waitress to return to the table. We had reservations however when we arrived no one asked or checked it off to see we did indeed show up. What's the point of making them if you don't know if we actually know came? There were three in my party and we all decided we would not return. I wish you well and hope these things help you stay in business in a tough economy. Carole

We got there as the sun was going down and ate during the edge of night. The food was so good we now dream about it and try to get back there. The hostess was really friendly but our waiter came over after we'd been sitting for a while, he bugged us to order when we wanted to wait and told my girl not to get the flatiron med well in a way that was rude. We would still go back but we don't want him to be our waiter again.

The food was excellent . . . appetizer, salad, and main course (no dessert for us this night). The service was very good. I was hoping for outdoor seating, but they don't take reservations to eat on the patio. However, it was a birthday celebration and we were able to get a table inside with a view and enjoyed our time at the Aspen Grill. I would suggest another location if you are looking for more ambiance . . . though the view of Evergreen Lake was nice from our table.

This was my second visit, the first being for lunch. Both times the food was inventive, fresh and great in taste and presentation. The service the second time was spot on which was appreciated as it was lacking during the first luncheon experience. Due to the location, there is opportunity for dining al fresco during the summer season with views of mountains, lake and golf course. The wine list is not overbearing with a good selection yet a bit pricey in markup on most selections. This casual american mountain grill is definately one of hot spots for dining in the Evergreen area.

We made a reservation at the Aspen Grill and asked for outside seating, "weather permitting". When we got there, the inside was full and the weather outside, light rain and cold, was not what we considered suitable weather for outside dining. The host (and I presume owner) was not helpful or apologetic. In fact I would consider his attitude almost rude. He couldn't tell us when we could have a table and didn't encourage us. We left and went down the road to the Bistro Blue and had a wonderful dinner. We will not go back to the Aspen Grill.

Overall, a solid restraunt - kitchen & wait staff still working out the kinks (salad without dressing, med rare porterhouse came out med-well, ran out of prime rib early saturday evening). I'd compare the atmousphere to Raven's - upscale for our community. Price is on the high end of average, but worth it. The new facility is very nice (tables were a bit smallish), with a good view of the local hills (although US HWY 285 traffic noise was really loud). Food was good. the goulash and green bean sides were excellent. Main dishes were adequately-prepared, and I'd bet will improve once the kitchen gets "settled-in". We'll be back!

Aspen Grill is a new restaurant in restaurant-starved Evergreen. Perched on the shore of Lake Evergreen, the large patio and picture windows offer a scenic dining experience. Our dinner was delicious, as expected, and the service was good. I would say, however, that the restaurant does not seem to fully embrace the Open Table concept, as it seems that my "special request" was not even communicated to the staff. Why have a special request field if nobody is going to look at it?
