We dined outside at Lavo. The service was only fair and the waiter was more interested in the next table because Chip and Pepper were there. (The jeans guys). They charge $3.00 for a choice of not so great steak sauces which is absolutely rediculous. The experience was fine but far from brilliant. It should have been a better experience because it is in the Palazzo Hotel and that alone should hold them to a higher standard

I dined at Lavo with 2 friends on a Friday evening. We had a fantastic time - the service was great, the portions were absolutely huge (we easily could have split an entree between the 3 of us!), and the atmosphere was fun and trendy. We sat on the outdoor patio and had a wonderful view of the strip. After dinner, we stayed on the patio and had a couple of drinks in the lounge section - great to do some people watching and chat! Perfect start to our night!

We requested outside dining, which was very nice, overlooking the Las Vegas strip. Waiter and staff very friendly, attentive and accommodating. The scallop appetizer and ahi tuna main entree were both "outstanding". Veal parmesian was "average". We would definitely consider going back to Lavo when returning to Las Vegas, as the menu was very appealing and we would like to try other dishes.

Absolutely go for the outdoor seating. Service and food were fantastic and the view up and down the strip along with the TI pirate battle across the street was nice. Inside would have been way to noisy as this is a club also. I absolutely recommend this restaurant, but you must sit outside (weather permitting)

Wish I actually knew how the food was. We got there for our 10:00 reservation and by 10:40 we weren't seated and no on even bothered to provide an explanation why. So we gave up and went back to our hotel to eat. Horrible horrible front of house. By far the worst service I have ever experienced in Vegas.

Service was great. We got a table right at the time of our reservations. It's a really cool looking scene. The food was just okay, but wasn't too pricey, so I can't complain. TAO, LAVO's cousin, has a much better food selection IMO, but I was still satisfied. Never got to go upstairs - we went to TAO instead, but I would go here again.

Expectations were probably too high given that I was comparing everything to TAO. This is a restaurant by the same team; so I think that's fair?? Wait staff was great (unfortunately we caught a trainee - he was nice, his trainer was awesome, but not what we were looking for) restaurant is amazing inside; and we caught them early b/c of tickets to a show. That said - no where close to the level of a TAO or Mesa Grill.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2008

While romantic, this latest addition to the restaurant selection had very poor quality food. We tried a handful of dishes and they all were swimming in sauces/oils. Neither of us could eat more than a few bites. A great chef delicately enhances the flavors of his dishes with careful selection and application of seasonings. Whenever your meal arrives coated in anything, the kitchen doesn't know what it's doing. Apparently trying to cover mistakes/inexperience with sauce/oil/salt. Bread was hard as a rock, too. VERY disappointing.

My meal at Lavo was one of the worst meals I have had in a very long time. My husband and I order an appetizer and a salad. The Kobe Beef Rice Ball appetizer was ok and the Beet with Goat Cheese salad was overdressed. The entrees were worse. I had Spaghetti Carbonara . The portion was huge but the flavor was missing. My husband had Lobster Risotto. The Risotto was fishy and gummy. Servers and management were insincere and awkward. Absolutely, do not go here. You can do so much better in Las Vegas. The hotel is offering Lavo coupons to entice visitors. Do not be fooled.

I thought Lavo was beautiful! I'm from New York City and so I'm used to lavish decor in some of our upscale eateries, and Lavo did not let me down in that regard. Up until our check arrived the service was great, however our waiter seemed annoyed when we requested a photo be snapped after our check arrived, even though he previously said it would be no problem. He disappeared for about 15mins before returning. The food was pretty good, but not the best. The wine was excellent.

Lavo was horrible, they advertise as a meditteranian restaurant but once you get there they then tell you they are an Italian restaurant. That is misleading diners and they could get in a lot of trouble for that. Plus for a restaurant at the Palazzo there wine list is complete garbage and very very overpriced.

Other than the steak everything was wonderful. The portions were great for sharing appitizers and also meals if you wanted to mix it up more. Ambiance was great and if you go on certian times you get to see pretty much naked girls giving each other a bath. Didn't bother me ( iam a women) but I did notice that other women were very uncomfortable so take that into note when comeing to this restaurant. Also, there is a club upstairs and you can ask for passes. But after going up we didn't stay long. The downstairs lounge and outside patio was wonderful and very compfy with large couches and nice table settings........... Had fun.

Rushed! Our reservations were set for 6:45, before the real dinner crowd. It was our 2nd anniversary so we were hoping for a nice dinner. Having to order our entire meal all at once did not give us the feeling we could relax. We ordered our appetizers and before we were done, our main course came out. The main course was average. The servers were all huddled in a group 10' from our table it made me feel very uncomfortable. The wine glasses may be in theme with the restaurant but... ruin a good glass of wine, perhaps they should use them for water. Overall it was an expensive meal and the dinnig experience average. In this economy if I'm going to spend the money for a good meal I want to be able to take my time and enjoy it.

This place is really no more than a night club that serves food. We had a reservation for 8 PM, but still had to wait over 30 minutes for a table. The lounge was so dark, I couldn't read the drink menu until the waitress brought over a small flash light. The music is loud, so I recommend that you not be in a large group. When you're seated, plan on being six inches from the table next to you. The food was served very promptly and was very good. There always seemed to be someone else at the table, whether taking orders, responding to questions, or bringing food or drinks. There is a nightclub associated with the restaurant, and since they stamped our hands, we thought we'd explore. You need to buy a bottle in order to sit at a table.

This was my second visit to Lavo, and it's easily becoming one of my favorite spots in Vegas. It was a little disappointing to find that they changed the menu from tapas to a more traditional menu, but the food is still fabulous. The kobe sliders are amazing, and the sea bass might be the best I've ever had. As an added bonus, eating at the restaurant got us front of line access to the club upstairs, which I also recommend.
