Locked out of all the big spots in the Bay Area as a late booker, I found this place through a Google search of good mother's day brunches. It's a great little spot tucked away in a quiet shopping center. Normally I wouldn't love the idea of a shopping center as the setting for my wife's mother's day brunch, but the patio has a great view of Mt. Tam, and the food is excellent. I would recommend this to anyone in the area looking for a nice-casual meal.

It is such a shame that the restaurant is so ugly, loud & poorly designed, because the food is terrific & the menu is great. Over the years I have hesitated going to this restaurant specifically because I hate the atmosphere so much. I can't think of any other restaurant where the poor design has actually kept me away. It's really unfortunate, as it could be one of Marin's top restaurants with a re-design.

When we booked through Open Table, a pop-up message told us that the restaurant would keep our table for 15 minutes beyond the reservation time, but would then release it. After a difficult journey, we were, unfortunately, ten minutes late. We found our reservation had been cancelled, so we then had to wait for another table to become available. If the pop-up message had not appeared, we would have called to say we were going to be a little late. So the moral of this little tale is don't rely on messages like that. My wife order a hamburger, done medium-well. When it arrived, it was medium rare. This was quickly remedied with a new one. These experiences didn't affect our enjoyment of the meal itself and we'd still go back again.

This place made for an enjoyable, nice quality dinner with friends. Good wine list, and nice choice of entree options, including Gluten Free choices for friends who might need this. We had the tuna tartare for an appetizer, it's a nice size and VERY tasty. Also shared the flourless chocolate "cake" which was quite luxurious and good for sharing.

Great food and Great ambience. This is the second time that we've been to this restaurant, both times were for birthday celebrations. We made same day reservations for a party of six and were sat immediately. Two people in our group have dietary sensitivities (gluten & dairy). There were several menu options for them to choose from. The waitress helped make recommendations for the items that needed to be substituted. We were sat at the chefs table and the chef, popped by to make sure all was well. I've never rated a restaurant before but the food and the service were exceptional. I would have felt inconsiderate not reviewing.

absolutely fabulous food in a casual and unpretentious setting. The roasted artichokes are a must. As good as anything we have had in upscale restaurants in the city. My husband had the short ribs which were beautifully presented and couldn't have been more tasty and tender. My petrale over crab mashed potatos was amazing. The service was wonderful and we felt extremely satisfied. We will be back!

A friend raved about B&B so we finally decided to try it. My sautéed shrimp appetizer was fantastic - best dish of anyone's that evening. But my wife's salad was a bit soggy. My grilled skirt steak was decent but not off the charts. My wife's margarita pizza looked great but was bland and disappointing. The service was okay but could have been much better. At least two items we asked for, we had to ask again. That is unacceptable in my book. Overall we rated it a 7.5.

A very nice if not a little load describes our experience. The menu read well. The kitchen doesn't work as well. I had the applewood smoked pork. I figured it would be very sweet with a decent smoke, accompanied with the jalapeño cole slaw would cut it nicely and add some complexity. Wrong. No jalapeños in the slaw. Asked for some chopped up. Brought chopped bell pepper, no heat, no flavor. Pork shoulder steak, super sweet,. hardly smoked. Just a waste of time. The muscle appetizer was surprisingly good! Third time time I've been here. It does not get better.

We picked this restaurant to try something new in town and the menu looked good. We ordered the tuna tartar appetizer - the portion was generous, but it had no flavor. It needed some wasabi or salt or seasoning. For dinner, I asked the waiter about the pork chops - specifically if they would be dry and he said no. Unfortunately, they were dry and had no flavor. The butternut squash puree side tasted like baby food. My husband ordered the pork shoulder - it also was dry. This restaurant is in a great location - the owner should get a great chef and it would do well.

After movie early dinner. 6:30 Sides of mac and cheese and spinach were excellent, and more than enough for a meal. We used to go regularly when they offered an "early bird special" and bring your own wine, and they donated corkage to local charities. Bar scene VERY loud and we were unable to hear each other talk, so ask for a table in the back room, if you want conversation.

I've enjoyed my meals every time I've come to this restaurant. The menu isn't extensive, but the food is tasty, the service friendly and good and the prices are reasonable. Last time I ate here was at the bar for happy hour, which I think is every night. Great prices on tasty small plates that you can make a meal out of! The glass wines are on tap so you don't have to worry about a spoiled glass of wine either!

When a hostess tells you "I have a lovely table for you" it's their way of saying "You're getting a choice of bad tables, out of sight." I know, I am a host myself. Sitting in the back room of what looks like a Tahoe log cabin bar, complete with old wreaths decorated with Christmas lights, our table honestly sucked! Too small, against a pole, and with the runners and back waits bringing out multiple courses sooner than they should or expected, my dining guest immediately went into critique mode and wondered how this place even got any recommendations at all. The timing was off, even at our request, the drink I had was blah, and the starters ok, but the main courses lacked flavor. All in all it was an experience to remember, poorly.

I took my wife of 30 years here for Valentine's Day. I spent about $150 bucks, not including tip, which included 2 glasses of wine each, and one dessert. The food was good, but nothing special. My wife had oysters on half shell as an appetizer - they were kinda small, and not as good as the ones at our local neighborhood bar, especially for the price. There is no view of anything (bay, ocean, etc). Since it is not particularly close to me, I probably will not go back. But were it in my neighborhood, I might go a couple of times a year for a semi special occasion.

We loved the food and service here, and have come back several times a year. But the noise levels are way beyond "Energetic", especially if you're within 50 feet of the very active bar scene. Even on a Tuesday night, we had a hard time hearing each other talk. There have been several times when we've considered coming to B&B but decided against it because of the noise level. We would not come here with a group because of that, because you'd only be able to hear the people sitting adjacent to you.

We had to yell at each other to be heard. Big flat screen TV in the dining room, tacky. Our waiter put the table and says, "I'll be right back to open it.." and then never comes back. We had to flag him down to get him to open our wine. We ordered tuna tartare, beet salad, and Swiss chard ravioli for appetizers. The tuna was fresh, the sauce on the ravioli was very good, lemony but creamy and not too heavy. For mains we ordered petrale sole, the petit filet special, and eggplant pizza. All were fine, but the eggplant was very tart, over- vinegared. The flourless chocolate cake was cold and tasted like it was purchased bulk from Costco, and paired with Hershey's chocolate sauce, cold. We paid $260 for dinner for four, before tip.

Most dishes were very good but a few needed work. The gnocchi starter which friends raved about was tasty but swimming in fat. This would have been easily corrected by the kitchen staff which indicated more attention to detail was needed. The same could be said of the egg salad starter which featured truffle oil. The theory here seemed to be if a little was good, a lot would be better. Subtlety with truffle oil is the key to this ingredient. The menu is great and many dishes were inventive and very good. But a bit more attention to detail needs to be exerted.

Their caesar salad and vegeterian french onion soup are delicious! We played it safe, because we've never been there before. I ordered the rotissirie chicken as my main course and my fiance ordered the braised short rib-not sure he was fond of the parsnip puree, but it was a bit tasty. All in all, it was a great experience. We were very pleased. It was a bit loud and i think that has to do with the structure of the restaurant, otherwise it was nice and the lights were nice and dim and not blinding you.
