Dining twice at Trattoria Italian Kitchen twice in three days gives you an indication of how much I like this restaurant. This past meal was at lunch which was my first time for lunch here and I wasn't disappointed. In fact the staff and service was as good as and possibly better than my previous supper dining experiences. The food was as outstanding as usual.

Lovely lunch, even with a bigger group which can be hard re: timing and length of time for the food to come out. Tasting antipasto plate is a great starter. Music up about 2 notches too high for a lunch though.

Good value on Tuesdays, when the pasta is on special. Otherwise, I find it expensive for Italian "fast food" (mass-produced, predictable, under-whelming).

  • The most impressive thing
    OpenTable Diner Since 2006
    Dined on 6/15/2011
The most impressive thing about my visit was that I was meeting a friend who I suspected had gone to the the other location on Alberni. When I mentioned this to the gentleman seating guests, he called the other location TWICE to enquire as to whether someone of my friend's description was there, alone. He went above and beyond the call of duty. The food was great, but his customer service was what stood out. He even stopped by to see how our meal was mid-way. Much appreciated!

This is the last of the Glowbal Group restaurants that I haven't been to so I was looking forward to checking it out. I have to say though, even though the food and service was good, it was nothing exceptional, as I've come to expect from Glowbal restaurants. Maybe it's because I went for lunch and it was more of a business/serious vibe so I should go back during dinner and see what it's like.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 10/24/2010
This was my first time at this restaurant and I went because I could make a reservation for brunch whereas you can't make evening reservations and I don't like having to wait forever for a table. It was nice inside with decent service and my eggs benedict was very good and I thought good value for $10 served with potatoes and salad. The presentation was fantastic and the hollandaise sauce was fantastic. The muffins were not really toasted however and though the potatoes looked amazing they weren't crisp and were quite salty as was the dressing for the salad. $3.50 for a tea I think is very pricey in comparison to the reasonable benedict price.

Lunch was good and cheap. The manager said hi and gave us complementary meatballs; so that was nice and unexpected. My partner was surprised by the warm salad - even though they said it was warm, but we both loved it. My penne was spicy and would have it again. They should take dinner reservations. OpenTable Diner Since 2006
    Dined on 6/20/2010
We ate at trattoria for Father's Day and were very disappointed! We have eaten here 4 or 5 times before and thought this would be a good place to bring our parents for fathers day. What a waste for them to drive from North Van to be seated at a table in the back (even though i made a reservation a week in advance). The food took so long and wasn't worth the wait. Our waiter barely came by to check on us- at one point we had to grab the water jug ourselves to fill our own glasses! Lets just say we will not be returning here anytime soon. Vancouver has too many fantastic restaurants to be wasting our time at a place that clearly doesn't appreciate our business.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2010
    Dined on 6/19/2010
Not my style of Italian cuisine, this is more like Italian fusion, too saucy and rich, I know pasta should be "al dente" but this was "de trop". I guess it's suitable for people who just want to taste food, but not actually eat it. I guess it's probably a busy and popular place for the "going out" crowd. I took my dad out for "father's day", and he wasn't impressed, he doesn't like cream on things and prefers his salad minimal "oil and Vinegar dressing. So we wouldn't go back
