Went here for a girls night out dinner. We ordered the lobster ravioli and the sea bass which was divine. Dessert was also heaven. Parking a bit tough, but they have reasonably priced valet. Would definitely eat here again.

I have eaten at several Vigilucci's iincluding this one. Always had a great meal. This time they were off on all 4 meals. The prawns were dry, sauce salty, potatoes rubbery. Maybe the chef had a bad day.

Vigilucci's food is ample and excellent. The wine list, while extensive, overprices its selections by about 25% and distracts from an otherwise pleasant experience.

The food was great. I had the sea bass and it was amazing. I sampled a couple of the other meals in my group and they were all excellent. I have never been disappointed by this place. I knocked off one star because they ran out of Captain Morgan's and rather than just telling me and letting me make another choice they tried the old switcheroo with Bacardi.

Great food. It has a great view of the ocean and really nice to watch a sunset. However, and I knew this ahead of time, the street is really noisy. Buses pass right by the outdoor tables or idle next to you during a red light. A bit distracting while trying to enjoy the view. Even still, outdoor seating was hard to come by. The only people who got sitting outside were those who had reserved ahead of time. A couple of glasses of wine and a dinner for two will set you back $100. Having said that, we really had a good time and enjoyed the food!

It was happy hour when we arrived (which is a great deal by the way) which made a pre dinner contail impossible. Bar tenders to busy to help after 5 minutes of waiting. But, after that... The hostess was very nice and appoligetic regarding the lack of service at the bar. The server was knowledgable and attentive. Very good food, we had fish and steak both great. Overall, nice sunset view and good service. Moderate price, good wine list, worth a trip to Carlsbad.

For the past several years, my sister has come out from Baltimore to run the Carlsbad Half Marathon with me. We have gone to the Oceanside Vigilucci's three times, the State St. location once, and this coastal location once. While it was a bit noisy at first, the atmosphere in the restaurant was lively. Our server, Vito, was not only great looking and charming, he was an excellent server. Our food was excellent. Starters were the diver scallops and the tuna tartare, which was the best I have had anywhere. We both ordered the lobster ravioli, which went perfectly with our wine, Orvieto. Dessert, a chocolate molten lava cake, was lovely. Enjoyed the dinner very much.

If ever there seemed to me to be the perfect place, this is it. Have been here for both mine and spouse's birthday: food, service, view, ambiance, wine list all superb. Even the one small negative--parking, can be turned into a positive by parking across the street along the beach, then enjoying a lovely beach stroll after dinner back to the car (valet parking available). This is the best of the Vigilucci's I've visited.

It was my wife's birthday and our first time to Vigilucci. What a wonderful experience celebrating it with our family, 2 kids under 10 year-old. From the host to the bar tender to our waitress, everyone was very friendly and helpful. The food was just outstanding and good portion on every plate. I've already recommended to all my friends and I can't believe I just now discovered this wonderful restaurant.

Very pleased overall and will definitely return! The food was wonderful and fairly priced for the amount we got. The seafood was fresh - mussels, clams, lobster ravioli, and a mixed seafood plate. Service was very attentive without imposing too much. Since it was our first time, they even gave us a complimentary creme brulee for dessert - delicious! View of the ocean at sunset is very romantic, and the inside ambiance is warm and comfortable. Very highly recommended.

Calamari was blah. Bread was delicious. I am a baker's daughter. Sourdough was our specialty. I always appreciate hot crusty bread. Prime rib was dry and lacked flavor(but it looked great.) My filet mignon looked a little shriveled up on the plate, flavor was pretty good but for the price, I was not impressed. For the prices you charge the meat should be a better quality. The creme brulee was cold and the texture was like small curd cottage cheese. We won't be back. Sorry.

While there were some small challenges early (parking and seating time) the overall experience was very enjoyable. Because we had made the reservation for our wedding anniversary, we were treated to an ocean facing booth to watch the sun set and also to an amazing creme brulee for desert. The food was very good and left us with more than enough for lunch the next day. Overall, a very pleasant experience and one that we will look forward to again.

It was great to do our reservation on line and have it be ready when right when we got there. The food wasn't as good as it's been in the past. The baked oysters were chilly in the middle and my risotto with beef tips was suppose to be done al dente, instead it was pretty much chewy and hard. We have been there about 4 times in the past but will not be returning.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2010
    Dined on 9/21/2010
I have been to this Restaurant about 10 times. It has been 8-9 months since our last visit. I would have to say the food and service have noticeably declined. The caesar salad used to be a favorite. Now the dressing was very bland, almost like plain mayo. The oysters were boring, where in the past they were amazing. Our entrees, Lobster Ravioli and the Risotto with swordfish were just ok. We are sad to say that we will probably not come back. We loved this place, too bad that it has seemingly lost it's way.

The food was phenomenal, our server was so friendly and gave us great advice on the menu. The view of the Pacific from the outside table was wonderful for visitors from the East Coast like us. The meal was memorable, when we come back to Carlsbad, we will be absolutely sure to dine here again. Worth the short drive from the Four Seasons/Park Hyatt Aviara. Highly recommmended!
