The food was avearge for a seafood restaurant. The service was very good, but the server did forget to mention the specials. The price is on the high side for the atmospere and menu variety. Very long wine list, ho hum. The online reservation feature was great.

  • Legal Sea Food is always excellent.
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 12/23/2008
Legal Sea Food is always excellent. Our waitress was full of knowledge about various fish and shared it willingly. She was attentive to our needs. I am aware that prices need to go up, however when diners in the U.S. subsidize restaurant expenses by tipping waitstaff and the restaurant gets away with paying only a tiny portion of waitstaff's salary, it would behoove the restaurants to keep the prices of meals as low as possible. In this economy we may need to cut back on our dining out if this upward spiral continues and then who will dine in your fine establishment? While your prices haven't gone up terribly, there really isn't a wide enough range of choice for less expensive dinners - unless one chooses fried fish.

First time visiting the restaurant did not know what to expect... Pleasantly surprised, food was great ordered the fisherman's trio, did not care for the clams w/ the bellies (more of a clam strip person), otherwise the ambiance, food and atmosphere was great. Also enjoyed the refreshing pomagrante lemonade. Service was also excellent. Will indeed return many more times.

Our dining experience was good-not-great. While the food was good, it wasn't anything that you couldn't get at any other above average seafood restaurant. I was disappointed in the serving size of my fried oyster entree. The service was pretty good, though.

I have eaten there several times when traveling to Rhode Island. The meal we had the other night was fair, mine in particular was terrible. 3 of us had a bill of 260.00, I had baked stuffed lobster that came out undercooked and raw, not once but twice. They never tried to make it up to me, I take people there all the time but wont anymore.

I was disappointed with the service. I chose the restaraunt specifically for the raw oyster bar. Unfortunately, our server never brought them out. The main dish was nothing special, considering the price. I wouldn't dine there again.

Entertained clients with dinner - very good experience ... more importantly we arrived at exactly our OpenTable reservation time [7:00 PM] and were immediately seated even though there were others waiting to be seated ... my clients were impressed ... in the future I'll choose restaurants who susbscribe to OpenTable.

Because we live in CT this was only my second time here, and I was impressed again! The service was great, the food fantastic, and we loved the desserts. The only annoying part was the couple arguing in the next booth, but that was no one's fault but their own. I can't wait to go back and will recommend them to anyone in the Warwick area. Thank you for a great dining experince!

I've long been a fan of Legal Seafoods, but I don't go to the Warwick restaurant often (I live in the Boston area). I went on a Saturday night and it was fairly busy. I put in a request for a booth and was lucky to get a great one in the back. The food was extremely good. I ordered fish and chips (cod) and my girlfriend ordered the baked scrod. I was fortunate enough to eat both :) The fish was extremely fresh and high quality. I'm a big seafood connoisseur and I've been to dozens of restaurants claiming to have the best fish in their respective areas (East and West Coast), but every time, they never match up to my experiences at legal. Also, try to the fish chowder! It's lighter in consistency than the ones in Boston, but still the best.

THE SALADS WERE BROWN AND WILTED. THEY DID NOT HAVE FRESH SALADS THAT WE ORDERED SO THE SUBSTITUTED THE SAME WITH PLAIN ROMAIN LETTUCE. THE GRILLED SIDE DISHES WERE SO SALTY, THEY WERE INETABLE. THE VEGGIES WERE RELPACED, BUT STILL HAD A SALTY FLAVOR. YET, THE FISH WAS FRESH. SOMTHING HAD TO BE. THE BLUEBERRY COBLER HAD A SHAKE'N'BAKE FLAVOR. AGAIN IT WAS SALTY. THE RESTURANT WAS EMPTY ON LABOR DAY NIGHT AND THE SERVICE WAS PROFESSIONAL BUT SLOW. WE ASKED FOR BREAD TWO TIMES BEFORE IT CAME. WAITED A HALF HOUR FOR THE SALADS BEFORE THEY WERE SENT BACK. DON'T GO HERE IT WAS A BIG DISSAPOINTMENT.

The food was everything we expected, prepared wonderfully, presenetd hot and as ordered. In my opinion, this is the best seafood restaurant in RI. However, we were a large group and the server made multiple mistakes. Perhaps she did not make the effort she should have, since her tip would be included in our bill. I generally tip 20% or more when the food and service are incredible. I would have given this woman 15% at the most. She brought 6 dinner rolls for 7 people, never brought one of our appetizers for which we had to ask another server, and brought Sprite instead of water to my daughter. These are not mistakes due to a busy atmosphere...good thing someone had her back!

WE OFTEN EAT AT LEGAL SEAFOOD IN THE BOSTON AND CAMBRIDGE RESTURANT. IN FACT WE ATE IN KENALL SQUARE ON MONDAY. WE WERE WITH 4 OTHER DINERS AT WARWICK. MY WIFE HAD THE LOBSTER SALAD AND I HAD THE GRILLED TUNA STEAK. MY WIFE IS A LIGHT EATER BUT SHE WAS HUNRY AFTER HER LOBSTER SALAD. IT HAD TWO OUNCES OF LOBSTER, IF THAT. SHE ATE WHEN SHE ARIVED HOME. MY TUNA WAS ORDERED RARE. IT WAS NOT A VERY GOOD CUT OF FISH. IT DID NOT SEEM FRESH OR FLAVORFUL AND THEY PUT SOME TYPE OF CLEAR SAUCE ON THE FISH WHICH FURTHER TOOK AWAY FROM THE PURPOSE OF HAVING A PLAIN GRILLED PIECE OF FISH. IT WAS MOBBED AND THE SERVICE WAS SPOTTY, BUT MAYBE IT WAS DUE TO THE OVERWHELLMING CROWD. THE OTHER DINERS WERE STATISFIED WHEN THIER SALMON AND STEAMED LOBSTER DINNER

Our server was very slow and to boot I asked what the specials were, and I was not happy with any of them, what I was truly in the mood for was not on the menu nor a special that day. After dinner I went to the ladies room, and on my way back I overheard another waiter tells a table that one of the specials that night was Lobster Ravioli....well that was exactly what I was in the mood for...yet my waiter did not tell us that was a special! I was very mad/disappointed.

Legal Seafood is one of my favorites. Great seafood. When family visit from out of state I often take them to Legal because of the food. My last expereince was somewhat disappointing however. I will say the service was excellent but the food was somewhat disappointing. It started with the salad and rolls. The rolls were tough and chewy almost as if they had been microwaved before serving. The cesaear salad was OK but inconsistent. Three of us had the salad and 2 had very little dressing and 1 too much. The chowder was excellent. Two people had either the steak or surf and turf. One returned the steak because it was too rare; the other-the baked stuffed shrimp was not warm. My crab cakes were excellent.
