I have dined there on numerous occasions. Clyde's Tower Oaks Lodge is absolutely the best restaurant that I've ever been to, and each time it gets better. The setting is spectacular and the food equals the setting. The menu is extensive and features starters, entrees and desserts which appeal to just about any taste. As a third generation Washingtonian and lifetime resident of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase area, I refuse to go to restaurants in Downtown DC or Downtown Bethesda, endure the parking hassles and eat in an office building. I am not a connoisseur of concrete. If you are both an epicure and an environmentalist, you'll love this place. Tower Oaks Lodge is truely the ultimate dining experience!!

We really enjoy going to Tower Oaks Lodge. We find the food to be very good at a reasonable price. The ambiance is pleasant with a noise level that makes conversation easy in all rooms except the "patio room."

Nice decor, has a high end appearance but food was nothing special. Service was slow - we waited over over a half hour for our food after we ordered it and nothing we ordered would have taken that long to make. We were not offered more bread while we waited. In fact, our server came over to take the empty bread plate away while we were waiting and did not even ask if we wanted more bread. We were seated right away at our reservation time.

Tower Oaks Lodge never disappoints. This was our third time there. The food was great, and the service was fast. It was efficient, but not rushed. It was nice of the maitre d' to read the message in my reservation that this dinner was a birthday present for my husband. He/she sent out a little chocolate cake with a candle. The only thing is that it is such a popular place, we didn't feel we could linger there after dessert. But, we are newlyweds, and we wanted to get home anyway!

Service was good until we needed the check. After serving coffee our waitress just disappeared and it took forever for her to come back to our table so we could ask for the bill. That annoyance spoiled an otherwise pleasant experience. Service at Tower Oaks has deteriorated recently.

We love this place. It is my husband's favorite restaurant and was very excited when we bought a house closer to the restaurant then we were previously. They have good food and great atmosphere. In fact we thought about having our rehearsal dinner here but his parents wanted to have it at an italian restuarant so we never inquired about it, not even sure they would be able to accomodate. Such an awesome restaurant!

The most "presentable" non-ethnic restaurant in Rockville--a very nice place to go that is not expensive. Decor is outstanding and comfortable. Very good for get togethers with family and friends. Food is not outstanding but certainly very good, and the prices are very low, particularly for the monthly specials of such things as lobster, crab cakes, rock fish, and salmon. During the lobster month, we eat there about 4 or five times. Also a wide choice of dishes on the menu, almost certsin the tastes of everyone in your party. The specials are outstanding and among the best food served there.

Despite its location in the Maryland suburbs, the ambience is rustic and could fit very well in one of the national parks, such as Yellowstone. The food and service are usually quite good, and the prices are moderate - especially the monthly specials, which this month is rockfish.

We've been here many times. Had my 75th birthday party there on 3/1 because everyone loves it. About 20 people were invited to the surprise party and the Lodge handled everything perfectly. On the 15th, we took 2 of our best friends who had not been there, since they live in Alexandria. They loved it and wish to return soon. In summary, The Lodge is a superior place to dine and deserves high marks at Open Table.

Fascinating building, worth a tour, with many rooms and majestic beams. Child friendly. Extravagant atmosphere and excellent service.Outstanding service of free water decanters. Food is always enjoyable, and sometimes excellent. Decent value with fine ingredients except the tater tots. Bar is busy and noisy and fun. Large rooms tend to carry noise.

The crabcake sandwich is amazing. Although I live in Rockville, I have no plans to dine at Tower Oaks Lodge in the future. I was studying for an exam and started craving the crabcake sandwich. I let my waitress know that I was in a hurry and she was quick and efficient with my order; however, when I presented her with my $100 Opentable.com dining points reward to pay for my sandwich, I received all types of drama. Her manager took over and just did not want to take that form of payment. It was handled poorly by the manager, but I did leave the waitress a good tip because she was not the person who wasted my time or made me feel uncomfortable about my form of payment. The manager had never heard of Opentable, so he claims.

I am using an old reservation to rate Tower Oaks Lodge from our most recent dining experience there Jan. 3, 2010. I originally made the reservation for four people, then learned that an additional person would join us. For some reason, I was unable to add the additional person by going through the "modify" link on Opentable, so I called the restaurant several days beforehand, and spoke to a hostess, who informed me she made the change. To make a long story short, they did not change the existing reservation; rather they kept adding new ones. When I arrived at the restaurant and checked in, I saw the hostess mark us off, but was dismayed to see an email later stating the restaurant had canceled our reservation, so I didn't get credit.
