Everything is extremely salty. WAY too much. Scallops were ok......but spinach underneath was totally inedible as far as I'm concerned. I thought this Wilfire would be better (may different) than the one in Glenview (in which EVERYTHING is oversalted). But -- unfortunately my expereience here was no better.

WAY TOO LOUD.....dont go there if you want to talk to the person next to you. I ordered my steak - medium well - they offered to butterfly it - I said no because that makes it too well done. My filet was delivered BURNT - and dry! But the waitress never returned to check on the dinners. The food was expensive and not worth the ambience or quality. We were there on a Wednesday early evening - this place must be a zoo on the weekends! Parking is awful - too many restaurants and a hotel to claim the limited spots.

  • As always the food was great.
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 4/1/2008
As always the food was great. The seafood bisque was loaded with big pieces of crab and shrimp. One item of note, I understand this is a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, and there may be some contractual items, and the ambiance is that of a supper club so cocktails prevail. But, being a beer brewer, and lover, I find the beer selection somewhat lacking, especially with the availability of so many great craft brews available, and saleable at premium prices. There are a number of selections that could expand your menu and compliment the fare very well, a good IPA such as Dog Fish Head 90 Minute would match your chicken and prok dishes perfectly, or Sam Adams Double Bock to match your BBQ dishes. Thanks for your time. Mitch

We go to Wildfire often and find the staff typically excellent; the servers do a really nice job. Food is generally good, some items need work, for example the Chicken Tetrazzini; very very average, much like out of a frozen food meal at home. There burgers are good, Plank Salmon good, chopped salad all good. Decent prices for lunch.

Our food this time was not quite up to par, it wasn't hot enough and the fish was dry. The martini's were weak and not cold enough. Our server seemed to be rushing us through the meal. On a good point, we were seated within 2 minutes upon our arrival for our 8:15pm reservation, which was a first for us at this Wildfire restaurant.

The host staff wasn't very pleasant. We had a 5:15 reservation, I called at 4:45 to say that we would be late, possibly by 5:45. She said "I'll note the reservation that you will be late, but we only hold reservations for 15 minutes." I said, "OK, than...." (didn't even get it all out!) and she hung up. No good-bye or anything. I totally understand the policy and would have understood waiting if we ended up being late (which we didn't have to..), but no need to be short!

The waiter was slow and I had questions about the bill. We gave him half cash and told him to put the other half on a debit card. When he brought it back the whole amount was on the debit card and the cash 45.00 was gone. When we brought it to his attention he said oh I'm sorry. We asked for the cash back b/c we were in a hurry and just left the debit card for the total. The odd part beside the error was that he pulled the cash out of his wallet to return to us. We felt like he was trying to pull a fast one.

Food was ok my steak was over cooked. Jerry, our waiter was great! However, I ordered soup and got a dirty spoon, very dirty, the people in the booth in front of us could see how dirty it was from there. I have gone to Wildfire every Easter for three years. It just was not as good as previous years. Shame, I was excited about going there too. Next year I will try Big Bowl. Thanks for asking, Wendy

I was seated in the bar. I made a reservation -- I had ASSUMED we would be seated in the RESTAURANT. The bartender doubled as our waitress--not a good idea. Service was terrible-waited for water, waited for bread, waited for doggy bags, etc.... The bar was busy and she took care of 2 booths and tables and the bar. Other wait-staff were available and walking around. When I finally got up to go to the front and complain and ask for a manager, she came with our take home containers -- after waiting 10 minutes--at the same time the manager came asking HER what was the problem. The manager never came back to us. Poor management and service. If I didn't love the place from numerous previous visits, I don't know if I'd return. The food was good

We've been to Wildfire literally hundreds of times and it is always consistently wonderful. I've tried close to everything on the menu, and each dish is outstanding...from their salads and appetizers, to sandwiches and main courses. The "wait time" for carry-out pick up is impossible. There should be a differentiation between picking up a salad vs. a number of complete dishes, but there is not. The person should ask how comprehensive the order is before saying the next pick up time is 2 hours later! But this just goes to show how great the food is.... people are willing to wait that long just to carry out!

We dine here for special occasions throughout the year. The food was more excellent than at other times, so it was a great experiemce for us. They have always honored our special request to sit in the main dning room. The only negative about ths place is: the reservation desk is quite disorderly most times; not enough hosts or table seaters. This time they couldn't find any menus. All in all, we still love this place.
