  • With the ambience of a '40s

With the ambience of a '40s nightclub and great food, Wildfire is one of my favorite restaurants. It's great for lunch with their outstanding salads, and it's perfect for dinner or a special occasion. I had one of the specials, macadamia crusted halibut, and I loved it. Also their current seasonal pie is coconut banana cream - outstanding. When they have Door County cherry pie, I usually buy a whole one to take home.

We had a great time. We celebrated a birthday and an anniversary. Our waiter was fabulous!!! He did a great job knowing when we needed something and when to leave us to our conversation..just a great guy. The Bartender was a little moody, but we just laughed it off. All and all we had a great dining experience!!!

My wife and I had a fantastic time at Wildfire. The Crab Cakes were amazing and the Plank Salmon and BBQ ribs and chicken were finger licking good. The service was first class. We had reservations at 8:00pm and were sitted by 8:00pm. I would highly recommend Wildfire and look forward to returning.

I found the menu quite pricy. I ordered the filet mignon trio, at $28.95, and found them small and rather dry. The service was good. My overall experience was not bad but would probably not return for dinner.

While I enjoy the food at Wildfire in Lincolnshire, they never seat you for dinner at your reserved time. They are always at least 15 minutes late, if not later. This has happened to me several times in spite of the fact that my entire party is there on time.

I have always loved Wildfire, and I have always had a pleasant experiance, until this time. We ushually go to Schaumberg, but this time we went to lincolnshire. I felt our waitress was rude and should have been working somewhere such as Ed Debevics. She just made comments that made my finacee and I question her friendliness as a waitress. Our food was delicious though, as usual. I will be sure to think twice next time to going to Wildfire in Lincolnshire.

This was our third consecutive Lettuce restaurant in three days! Like Di Pescara and Reel Club, Wildfire did not disappoint; the raspberry martini ordered at the bar didn't hurt, either! We had a short time frame in which to dine, as we were hurrying to a movie - our waiter made sure our dishes arrived on time. Salad was exceptional, served on chilled plates, with each ingredient crisp and fresh. Skirt steaks were perfectly cooked, and sweet potato was tender and creamy. Overall, our visit to Wildfire was consistent with each and every other visit there: flawless.

My friends and I just love having lunch at Wildfire. The food and service are excellent. We go at 1:00 and ask to be seated in a side room because the restaurant can get quite crowded and noisy during usual dining hours. Wildfire has always honored our request for a table in their side room or at least a table on the side. The people who work at the restaurant are wonderful. From the hosts that greet us to the servers and busboys, we always are made to feel welcome and well cared for.

As far as we are concerned, Wildfire - any location - has some of the very best steaks in the entire Chicago area. I use this restaurant for personal as well as business dinners, and have never been disappointed. The halibut encrusted with macadamia nuts is also a TOTAL winner! Oh and did I mention the crab bisque - to die for! The only negative thing I have to say about any of the Wildfire locations is the one downtown is just too noisy, but other than that, absolutely no complaints! We are also members of LEYE, obviously, and enjoy that membership as well.

I wish the menu had more selection. I wanted something other than steak or fish and could not find a chicken dish. I settled for a salad, which was good but I usually get it for lunch and we were out for dinner. I also miss the sliced turkey and gravy sandwich they use to have. It was very good and not something everyone has.

    Dppep
    Dined on 4/8/2008
The Wildfire is a solid venue with great food and very good service. You can expect a consistent, if not exciting, menu with most 'specials' staying on the 'special' menu for many months. Bar service is a strong point with high quality drinks and high quality staff. While the cost is higher than most steak houses in the 'burbs it is very in line with the food and service quality. Expect to pay ~$100pp for a full meal including drinks and desert though you can get by with $25-$35pp for a more modest meal.

We used to come to Wildfire all the time and were very pleased until recently during a business meeting/lunch. The food has not been up to par with what we're used to. For example, I always order the coconut shrimp and this time the shrimp were so tiny that most of the meal was the coconut batter and not the shrimp. It was very greasy and I also noticed that the shrimp was not fully cleaned inside. This is not what I'm used to from WildFire and I hope to be more pleased if we decide to dine here next time.

We've been to Wildfire many times. On this visit, everything was good, except they first served my husband cold, tough pork chops. They brought him another dinner, excpet this time the pork chops were completely raw inside. This was an unusual experience, but my husband could have gotten very sick. Thankfully he knew to cut open the pork chops when he saw so much juice on the plate. He is the restaurant business and knew this was an indication that the pork chops were not fully cooked. The manager picked up the whole bill, but that's not what we were looking for. We were there to celebrate my son's birthday. I guess they were just having a bad night.

We had a great time. When making our reservation, I mentioned that we'd have a 2 year old in our group. Although he is usually VERY well behaved in a restaurant, it was nice to see that the staff at Wildfire took his age into consideration for OTHER diners. We were put in a small privte room. It was a different experience than what I've had in the past at Wildfire. It was fun all around and the food was GREAT, as usual. Our server was even treating my 2 year old son as an adult. It was very nice of him.

My husband and I were appalled! We had an 8:30p. reservation on a Friday night. We were seated next to a family with a small child (3-4 years old). We had just ordered our appetizer when the child vomited all over. Instead of the parents taking the child home, they stayed, waited for their dinner and then ordered dessert for not only themselves but for the child too. Needless to say, my husband and I both lost our appetites! It would have been nice if the manager would have come over and apologized to the patarons sitting around that table and offered some sort of compensation. Because of this experience, we will think twice before going to Wildfire again

Liked the restaurant, service was great, we've been there before, but were a little disappointed in the food. Two in our party ordered jumbo shrimp appetizers and the shrimp were definitely not jumbo, they were barely large at best, and there were only four. For $10.50 a piece there should have been more shrimp. Also, someone in our party ordered a very rare piece of prime rib, and ended up with an end piece that was far from rare.
