  • I couldn't be more disappointed.

I couldn't be more disappointed. I was excited to eat here for my 50th bdy. The service was horrible...there wasn't any. I would clean house and start over. The food was ridiculous, not Lodge food..6 bites of 2 plates was a joke..For $500 I was ripped off. No one was in charge, no one knew anything about wine or even could find a manager with a wine locker key. I was embarassed for my guests. However, my husband and I had eaten at the bar and loved it, food, drinks, everything. The dining room is a disaster. The PR is too far advanced for what's behind it. They opened too early. The soft opening is not soft its flat...Great site, location, and vision...now just work it with professional restaurant staff for goodness sake!Make it work

Murray Circle and adjacent Farley bar are a great addition to the Bay Area dining scene. Service is still green (but very friendly and they try hard to please!) but that is to be expected for a brand new lodge and restaurant. This I am sure will improve given time. The menu and food presentation of Joseph Humphries were a fresh and fun approach. We loved the mini Business Lunch. We enjoyed a birthday lunch here as well as a light dinner served in the bar in the evening. We also spent the night in one of the new historic rooms. Fantastic!

Although the food at Murray Circle is good, the portions are incredibly small for the price. We were a party of six and the guys a our table were still hungry after 3 courses. The wine list is great but they , do not currently offer half the wines listed. The desserts were the most disappointing items on the menu. Cherry pie that should have been fresh were not. The service was good and the sommelier was outstanding. The place is a little too dark for summer dining but would be great in fall/ winter. I would recommend they look at their menu and decide what type of place they want to (i.e. small plates or fine dining ) because the prices do not reflect the experience. We had heard from others to have a big lunch before you come for dinner!

Amazing food- expensive when it all adds up but chef does a great job. great views of the gg bridge and the porch is so amazing for having drinks while looking out at the bay and drinking wine. restaurant is still a bit snoozy but hopefully will liven up. music needs to be a little more upbeat jazz.

Food artfully and meticulously prepared. Small portions at high prices but completely understandable once you see and taste the dish. The room is beautiful and quiet. The staff is friendly but service is rough and a bit too casual; wait staff a bit frantic. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Significant error/omission - our friends had called WHILE WE WERE SEATED AND DINING and arranged to pay for some portion of our meal as a gift. The gift certificate/payment was never presented, nothing applied to the check. We had no knowledge of the gift until our embarrassed friends called to ask if we had received their gift. Very bad form. Definitely dine there for special occasions, but maybe wait until they get their act together.

We've been to Murray Circle-Cavallo Point twice now and have enjoyed it althought being so newly opened, they have a few bugs to still work out - but I'm sure they will since overall it's a spectacular place and the waitstaff were trying very hard. We suggested to the manager that they should include a cheese course on the menu and we're hoping they do so. We will definitely go back.

I find it difficult to praise this restaurant enough. My two friends and I were pleased with everything about it. I just hope it isn't discovered by tourists wearing shorts and t-shirts. Fortunately, it's not easily accessible and somewhat difficult to find, so I'm optimistic about its joining the ranks of the best restaurants in the entire Bay Area. Here's a sample: the butterscotch suffle took longer to prepare and arrive, so we were given all six dessert choices gratis. And the three entrees we shared were superb. Bravo to the staff and chef.

Our experience was very enjoyable, the food was superb and memorable ...creatively conceived and artfully presented without being pretentious. Service was attentive & pleasant but awkward in bar and dining room and not up to par with the food. They are trying hard and appear to really want to make it better but are still working out the bumps. For example, they knew in advance that it was my husband's birthday but apologized for not having any birthday candles, while wishing him a happy birthday. At least 6 people appeared at our table to greet us, take our order, serve and explain various courses, help with wine selections (not very knowledgably), bus and ask how we enjoyed our dinner. We will return but hope service is better next time.

Really special food, done with creativity and skill. The service was outstanding. We're excited to welcome Murray Circle to Marin! Every bite was a pleasure. Small plates, so you order perhaps three per person. The wine we chose was excellent. Most of the list was new to us. They helped accomodate my meat and potato husband (for whom the menu was a challenge. My crab bisque with kefir lime and crab cake was outstanding, the sweet pea ravioli with pistashio emulsion was fabulous...but I was in love with the sole wrapped in bacon and grilled. Come ready to be impressed.

Overall we had a pretty good experience. The one main drawback was that it took a over an hour to get our food afte we ordered. This lengthy time made us late for our next appointment. I plan to return but I hope the time it takes to get food will improve. I know the restaurant is just opening and oftent times, new operations have a few kinks to work out. thanks for asking.

This restaurant has so much potential -- the scene is set for something wonderful but the service is way below the standard at which it needs to be. I know they are not officially open yet, so I think they should not be putting themselves out there on Open Table just yet. The manager person we spoke with said they were not expecting to be so busy yet and they are clearly not ready. I think that everyone is so excited that this is here and can't wait to get in there. The food and atmosphere are special, however I hated the menu format. It's too much work to find an appetizer, salad, etc.

All was excellent - the food, the wine, the view, the service. Dessert was out of this world. Ambiance was simple and elegant. The dining room is in one of the old Fort Baker buildings with a great porch overlooking SF Bay and the Golden Gate bridge. Can't wait to go back and try some of the other offerings.

Clearly a work in progress. Vegetable dishes were outstanding. Seafood dishes (we had two) disappointing- overly salted petrale; a crab dish that lacked any crab flavor (?too late in season?) and overwhelmed with vanilla. A veal dish also overly salted and rather dry. Our only dessert, a carrot cake that was overly carmelized on top, ended up neither carrot nor cake. Lovely building and room, has great potential. The wine list was very extensive but most listings wre't available yet (boxes hadn't been located!). Service needs a lot of work.

I understand about working out new restaurant kinks however I was very dissappointed in my dinner at Murrary Circle. Although they were nice and friendly the servers need more time with the food and wine to sound knowledgable and confident. I wasn't expecting stellar service however I was expecting stellar food because of the 2 star michelin rating given at the chef's prior restaurant. The beef was tough and overseasoned. The mushroom dish was few mushrooms and an overabundance of messy looking pasta. The chocolate tart was more of a cake which was too warm and almost melting on the plate. The restaurant seems to try to be too many things (both casual and elegant), and is too pricey for the final experience. I don't plan to return.

We went to Murray Circle for Saturday lunch. As expected, the food was excellent with unexpected combinations of ingredients. The service was quite good, but felt tentative showing the tensions of a newly opened restaurant. Once the service staff can relax, Murray Circle will surely be a winner!
