Had an excellent dinner. They were very accomodating with our requests on our reservations and made a great effort to please us. Would definite return as it is very cozy . Service was slow was our only negative comment.

  • My mussels were very good
    OpenTable Diner Since 2003VIP
    Dined on 6/6/2008
My mussels were very good but my wife's duck was over-cooked to the point of being inedible. The waiter was trying to be friendly and authentic by throwing around french phrases, however instead of being a good thing it ended up being just plain annoying. The amibiance of the resuturant was disappointing too, rather than the beautiful patio described in opentable, its really just an ok patio facing a busy street. The staff tried hard, but this resturaunt just misses the mark. The prices are about the same as the very popular "La Central" in downtown Denver, but the product pales by comparison.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2006

Indulge reminds us of finding a wonderful small restaurant in towns in France. The food is excellent, our server Christof was informed and was able to make recommendations. Stephanie, the proprietor welcomed us and chatted at the end of the evening - we have already planned our next visit in about 2 weeks.

  • I can't recommend the patio

I can't recommend the patio as we didn't sit there, but it's right on 38th Ave. so we weren't tempted. The service was very friendly, accommodating and comfortable. The food was very good, and well prepared. We switched tables after management did all it could to mitigate the "wind" from the a/c system and it was no problem at all. My friend and I dined on a weeknight, and by 8:15 when we were ready to leave, we were the only ones left in the restaurant. At that point the busboy, waiter and owner all came over to chat and we had such fun in such a casual, unstressed environment. I wonder what it's like on a busy night.

When we arrived, there was only one other couple in the restaurant. We enjoyed the food. The escargot was memorable; the steak was tough. I ordered a glass of wine which didn't arrive for about 10 minutes. I went to the bar to renew my request, and was served immediately. The woman from whom I had ordered the wine was conversing with diners at another table. Given that there were 3 staff members in the restaurant and only 3 tables occupied during our stay, the service should have been much better.

We had a great evening at Indulge. The food was outsanding. If you are looking for a big wine list, this is not the place, but the wine they offer are reasonable and fit well with the meal. The wait/bar staff was good but still a little rusty. That is the one thing I would like to see improve. I am going to tell friends they must go.

At a time when most restaurants couldn't care less about the food, this restaurant does. The food is delicious and contains three critical components; fresh ingredients, innovative twists on classical dishes, and; care. I hope they thrive.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2008

This is an excellent addition to the excitement going on in Northwest Denver! The food is maticulously prepared. Mussels were prepared to order and were some of the best I have ever had. The warm bread is a real treat with the typical European unsalted butter. The steak frites is very authentic and good. But save room for the desserts because they are French, decadent and delicious! The food was very good. I found it on par with Le Central if not better, and as good as some of the better bistros I have visited in Paris. The prices were reasonable. It is a great addition to the neighborhood and I will definitely dine there again.

One review from the Denver papers and there will be lines out the door. Chef, operators are recent immigrants from Normandy, food was outstanding, thoughtful and creative. Chef came out and introduced himself and checked on our satisfaction. Pricing is well below the norm for Denver for this quality of food and wine.

Unfortunately, it was not a memorable experience. My duck was good, but my husband's bass was quite fishy-tasting...We did like the music and the waiter was good, but nothing special. The atmosphere was more of a former Italian restaurant, rather than the French bistro it is supposed to resemble. With the many other restaurants Denver has to offer, we probably won't be going back to "Indulge".

First: They are NOT in Uptown, they are in Highlands. When I told that to the owner, she had to have her husband translate because they are both native French. Wow. The salad, being very simple, was still very flavorful if a bit heavy on the olive oil. The skirt steak and pomme frit au poivre vert was really good -- tender, tasty, and nice. I'm still in awe of the number of fries on the plate. It is french food, so it was a bit pricey -- two glasses of wine (16), salad, entree, tip, and tax was $52. I will go back though -- even if I have to budget a bit better to afford it.
