I've been here a coupe times for a business lunch, and my only complaint is that the tables are too close together making conversations from other tables very loud and distracting.

  • We have enjoyed eating here

We have enjoyed eating here several times, however I was very disappointed this Valentine's Day. I made the reservation on line. The weather had delayed some in our party so I called to revise the number of guests. It was at this time I was told there was a fixed menu for the evening. This was unexpected but understandable, however I wish I has known. After we arrived the whole evening never quite came together. The service was just fair, being slow to get to us and then slow to respond. The timing between courses was slow and the food was just fair. Also way after dessert I had to ask for our check to leave even though there were only 2 tables left. I like Madison and Vine and will eat here again, but this night was definitely off.

Was a business lunch with a client friend. Very small & can be noisy but we sat on a side. Waiter a bit pushy for us to order. The food came right away but did not serve main dish before our appetizer was finished. The scallops were very good with a good sauce that did not kill the dish. Decent wine list. Prices good for NYC. Have stopped in at night after a show and had light dinner at bar; also good; more croweded & nose level higher but enjoyed the place.

Clients and I have eaten lunch here. The lunch has been good. This is the first time my wife and I ate dinner. The wine list is acceptable however they did not have 4 of the 5 selections in their listing of Pinot Noir. The staff wasn't very sympathetic and gave a whole host of excuses.

We were referred to Madison + Vine by the Grand Hyatt's concierge for brunch before the Super Bowl. The french toast was fantastic and the fresh berries were really yummy. The value of eating here is really good too. They let us add 1 to our reservation at the last minute, which was much appreciated.

we had a gift card for $150 that a friend purchased - it was good at M&V and also cambell apartments, etc. When we went to use it the waiter said I don't think we accept it. Then he came back and said it was OK but they deducted 120 instead of $150 so we had to talk to the manager

I was in the back of the restaurant near the windows and it was so hot in the place... I felt really bad that I just want to go. we told a server andhe says it was normal. we wait our plates outside. we look at the control on the wall and it indicates 79°F. So we just eat, not even take wine and get out. we didn't like the amibiance of the restaurant. no music. the light were too flash. people were really loud (no acoutic absorbption with really high ceiling) the crab cake (really good) was made with real crab and thery were lightly fried. it has a sauce with it : really good and a cute little salad with lemon vinaigrette. i was a little disapointed by the ceasar salad : no bacon, no lemon, no parmasan, no capres. a salad without love.

We went because of their 1000pts and they had some major issues. We arrived at 8pm and didn't even eat until 9 - had to send our food back because it was cold. We were compensated for the inconvenience and the waiter was equally as frustrated. In the end, the food was great and they took care of us, but perhaps they shouldn't have opened and taken care of their flooded kitchen. We might try it again - everyone deserves a second chance.

In an area filled with delis and bars, this was a really nice restaurant near Grand Central. Food was great. It was cold so we sat indoors, but outside seating was available too. The website says that the restaurant is part of the a hotel (which made me a bit weary) but you would never know there was a connection. You didn't have to walk through a hotel lobby or any thing like that. It was a great find.

Madison & Vine is a good place for lunch during the week. It's sophisticated yet not pretentious. The tables are very close together and the noise level is pretty high so if you want to have a serious business discussion, probably not the place to do it. The food was excellent and prices not beyond what would be the norm for this type of restaurant mid-town.

The staff were friendly and courteous throughout our brunch. But two of us being half of the diners on a NY Sunday in a otherwise empty restaurant was not a positive sign. There was nothing wrong with the Cobb Salad and Eggs Benedict. But they were forgettable meals. What couldn't be forgotten was the price of cocktails rivaling that of the best places, with just as unremarkable taste as was the food. Maybe this place is riding on the laurels of its host hotel by charging what they expect, rather than what they earned. Lesson learned that this cover certainly is better than the poorly made plot written within the book. Will probably not return, unless we forget the easily forgotten meal.

Erratic service has undermined every meal I've eaten here, which is too bad, because the food is good. Since M&V is conveniently located for meeting friends, and its wine list is excellent, I'll return. But I am sure that the dinner rolls will be cold and we will feel rushed to order and pushed through our meal, only to discover the wait staff is oblivious when I am ready to ask for the check.
