    a) too dark b) table cloth black, napkins black plate black ( it seems) Had to use my cell as a flash light to see the food or read the menu/wine list;. c) Noise level too high not only the music but the table next to mine for a party of about 40 people Screaming laughing loudly( I enjoy seeing people happy) Too long to be presented with a menu I was ready to walk out. Once I had the menu the server was very cordial and pleasent. Will I go back NOOOO.

We ate at Baoli for the first time this past weekend. We were one of the first tables within the restaurant to arrive and were seated directly next to another group. We looked around and noticed plenty of empty tables. It was a little uncomfortable but we tried to make the best of it. The service was good, but we felt a bit looked-down-upon after we ordered from the Miami Spice menu. The restaurant was extremely loud too with techno blaring and then switching to more old school music when we were wrapping up our meal. It felt more of a nightclub-feel than a restaurant. I would have loved to have gone to this place, though, if I was single. the amount of short-skirts, legs, and bachelorette parties that were entering was a sight to see.

2 glasses of house wine and 2 appetizers came up to over $100. The food was good but not exceptional. I felt sorry for the young waiter who tried very hard to find something on the menu that would entice me to stay beyond the appetizer. The scene lacked ambiance and energy. The menu should be revised. I can appreciate the quality of food it the menu was not enticing.

I absolutely love Baoli Miami. It's definitely my favorite restaurant in Miami because not only does it have an outstanding ambience but the food is just as impeccable. I went every single night for a week straight and ordered everything on the menu and everything I ordered just kept getting better and better. The waiters are very attentive, however, Valentin is my favorite waiter. I would highly recommend this place to everybody. If you're looking for a restaurant that offers good food with a good vibe, Baoli is the place to be!

We were asked to move our seats during our main course so they could fit another group next to us. Which would be fine but I think they could've waited until we finished our dinners. We also had to wait over 30min. For a second glass of wine. It would've been nice if they offered us a drink or dessert on them for moving us and the wait but nothing!!! I would never go back there.

Came here visiting from NYC with some family. Had an all girls night out. Started off with dinner appetizers and shared the $120 Truffle risotto in a Parmesan cheese roll..............It was divine! Totally worth it. Then the party started at 11pm (Friday). Then we ordered drinks and danced the night away. An amazing place to go in a group for dinner and drinks. I would totally recommend this place.

  • Nice and Trendy, but expensive
    RESdom
    Dined on 8/22/2013
The overall ambience is very nice. Trendy, with beautiful people, nice decor (though a bit too posh for my taste) and the food was really good. DJ builds up the music as the night evolves and by the time you're finished with dinner it becomes vibrant and turns into a club. I guess like in most Miami trendy places you have to be atentive of the suggestions of the waiters and/or someliers since they tend to "suggest" ordering the most expensive drinks (Champagne Magnum bottles, exclusive wines, etc.) and plates... and when you don't... then they kind of look at you as you were not meant to be there! Would recommend it if one is looking for a trendy place, but beware of the cost... it is expensive.

The restaurant despite its name and reputation has nothing to offer out of the ordinary. The only remarkable about this restaurant is the ambience and a surprise show you might get if you are in the right time at the right place. The food is very small, poor and it tastes awful, specially the rissotto. I had better meals in mc donalds for much lower price. We went with the miami spice deal and as soon you told the waiter, he begins to treat you different, like if your money doesn't have any value. I wil never ever going back to this place. Pick something else.

THE SEABASS WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! THE TWO ONLY COMPLAINTS I HAVE WAS THAT THE FOOD IS VERY PRICEY AND THEY SAT US OUTSIDE WITHOUT ASKING ME OR GIVING ME THE OPTION BECAUSE I WOULDVE PREFERRED TO BE INSIDE IT WAS VERY HOT AND I WAS BIT BY MANY MOSQUITOS WHILE SITTING THERE WHICH MADE MY DINING EXPERIENCE UNCOMFORTABLE. OTHERWISE THE FOOD WAS VERY DELICIOUS AND GOOD SERVICE.

This place was big on scene. No one else was in the restaurant until close to 9 pm, making us feel somewhat out of place. There was a constant film loop playing over the bar of a 6 month-old Art Basel party featuring some DJ. I kept thinking, why does this restaurant feel the need to convince me how cool it is when I'm already here? All food was well-prepared and portions were adequate, but not worth the steep price. The Bouillabaisse was well prepared and very fun with the focaccia top--a definite highlight. Overall, I would not go back and felt I'd missed an opportunity to dine somewhere better for the price.

We were excited to visit this restaurant. We ordered two filets medium; they both came out well done. I was shocked for the money we paid ($227 total) that the chef cannot tell medium from well done. I do not trust sending food back so we did not complain. After we were done the wait staff stood around looking at us. We waited 15 min to get our bill. We declined dessert and it seemed after you stopped spending, they stopped service. The decor was great, but we will not be back to waste our money on food. After reading some reviews from others that were not favorable, we decided to ignore them and try it ourselves. I hope you take the advice, but if you do not, I hope that your experience was much better than ours.

Our server was great very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered a sushi appetizer and the beet salad both were great choices fresh with lots of flavor. The main course we had the salmon and the rack of lamb. The lamb we ordered medium it came out rare, we sent it back and it came out well done the original request was medium. The manager came over acknowledge the issue and the third time it came out just right. The salmon was good cooked just right with nice flavors. We also had the truffle mashed they were very good and the chocolate cake for desert. The manager compensated us well for the inconvenience and made up for the challenges we experienced. We will return again when the weather is cooler and we can sit outside.

It was fun experience overall, with a few drawbacks: the ventilators in the garden were not working and even cooling mist that they ignite upon you from time to time did not help total melt down. Until they repair them, no nice dresses, come with bikini and washed up face, and of course, no curls or hairdos: you will loose it in 30 min of sweating.

Looking to have dinner at a club? Then go to Baoli! The music was very loud to the point that you could not communicate with the person across the table. If you plan to have dinner with a date, it is not recommended. Good for bachelorette or birthday parties, I guess. Had a reservation at 9:30 but they made me wait at the bar for 20m before sitting me. And that was after I went to complain. Food was good but overpriced! We paid $190 for 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 beers. No wine, no dessert, no coctails! I think it is a nice restaurant but I would not go back or recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a nice, quite dinner with their significant other. It certainly has the typical French arrogance for being a hot spot in SoBe these days.

Baoli really didn't live up to the hype we were expecting. They never mentioned there was a "dress code" for men, so not shorts or flip flops allowed. After telling my husband and friend that they "could come in just this time" we noticed that the waiters were all wearing sneakers. Interesting, Converse sneakers allowed, but not shorts--- in Miami. Either way, the service was great, our waiter Simon was awesome. The apps started out strong, as the beef carpaccio and beet salad were winners--fantastic actually. Things went downhill from there. Crab cake and mussells were not worth mentioning. The truffle risotto was just ok, the truffles were the best part of the dish...it was dry. I wouldn't rush back or recommend for more than a drink.

This may be typical of South Beach, but I didn't like it! A gratuity is added to our check, 18%, I think. But, an amount is left for an additional tip & it was made pretty clear that the "gratuity" goes to the restaurant & the "tip" to the server. I do not agree withthis & feel that the restaurant is abusing its customers.

Initially we were concerned with our decison. The hostess had a sour puss from the moment we walked in. The bar tab was outrageous for two drinks and choice of premium liquor was limited. Once we were seated in the garden, which is lovely and optimum choice, there were not enough menus for the four of us. We were told because there were many large parties...which there were...but should never be a factor. Suprisingly the four appetizers I shared as my appetizer and and entree were delicous and the music was great. Even the corny ode to MJ was a blast. Not sure I would spend that kind of money at Biola again. They dont quite have the whole package yet.

In this restaurant I met an excellent combination of good food and vibes. There was a cool crowd and uprisingly good food. superb sea bass with orange saus . Home made pasta with seafood really delicious. Charming waiters. Would go back weekly when possible. Hope to find the same kitchen in Cannes this season.
