Service was excellent. Viewed the menu online and was excited about the variety of foods. The food quality ended up being just fair to average and the noise level, particularly the radio overhead playing "Top 40" music, was a bit more than we would have liked. Good for groups and maybe the bar scene, but certainly not for romance. 3 out of 5 stars only because service was excellent.

Steak tips and pizza were very good. But...Cosmos should come with a lime, not a twist of lemon - it was terrible. I did ask for a lime and it helped. Loose them lemon twist!

A great atmosphere for a small group (10 or less). It was very comfortable and quiet enough for good conversation and fun. The appetizers, dinner and desserts were served on time. All the food was delicious and well portioned. The service was excellent.

  • Six of us had dinner here

Six of us had dinner here prior to attending a play at Foothills. The entrees were very well prepared and creative. The side salad was very ordinary, similar to what one would get at Papa Ginos. This is not fine dining, but a good place to get a reasonably priced creative meal. The wine list was adequate and, again, reasonably priced. We would return. A major turn-off was the strong smell of tobacco in the entryway. I am not sure if this was due to customers or staff, but should be corrected. This made us think of a sleazy joint rather than a nice dining establishment.

My dining experience at Peppercorn's was very good. The parking lot was crowded, but I guess that's to be expected on a Friday night. We had reservations, so we were seated promptly by the hostess. Our waitress came over almost at once and asked for our drink orders, which were delivered along with a nice loaf of bread and rosemary oil. The rosemary oil was fantastic, and the bread went perfectly with it. After enjoying this, we placed our dinner orders, and proceeded to enjoy our drinks. Considering the restaurant was pretty full, the dinners came out very quickly. All three were delicious, very nice combinations of simple ingredients. The one downfall was the wait time for the dessert. Overall, a avery good dining experience!

First time dining at this restaurant. We were up for Family Weekend at our son's college. Would definitely return. We had our 2 1/2 year old with us too. Very kid friendly. Food was delicious. Our waitress was kind and very efficient. Many menu choices. Only wished my cabernet was filled a bit more in my glass ( I chose the most expensive choice) but otherwise we truly enjoyed our meal!

Peppercorn's is a neighborhood kind of restaurant--definitely not a chain place. It is a block from Clark University which makes it convenient. We had a birthday celebration for my daughter who turned 21 and the restaurant was a great place for it. Service was friendly and attentive. The food was fine, not haute cuisine, but good family fare--good sized portions, you won't go away hungry. We didn't go into the bar, so you'll have to check that out for yourself.

Chicken Parm is the best - chicken tastes fresh, moist,...can't finish it all! Stuffed Mushroom appetizer - yummy, just enough cheese on top, get it every time. Chicken Christopher - very good "Cheesy Fries" - greasy - tasty - but too high calorie! Shrimp Mediterranean - OK - sort of more vegetarian entree. Warm chocolate decdance - very rich, very nice - too much, took 1/2 home! (one kid loved/other kid didn't like at all - go know!) Cheesecake - OK Chicken Piccata - just OK - not great - wouldn't get it again. Fry Calamari - just OK - wouldn't get it again.

  • I had a good time at the restaurant
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 6/24/2008
I had a good time at the restaurant primarily due to the group I was with. Although the food was delicious and well presented,I found it on the expensive side considering the ambiance and the service which was good but not outstanding or memorable. I expected to pay around $20.00 for my meal, drink etc. and I ended up spending $32.00. Although I was prepared, I was surprised. I would expect to pay $32.00 at someplace like The Wayside Inn in Marlboro or some similarly unique venue. All in all although I wouldn't go out of my way to return, I would use this restaurant for a group again mostly because of it's location.

Don't be put off by the exterior. Once inside Pepercorns is very comfortable with a layout that results in a numbner of separate seating areas providing a greater sense of intamicy. Food is not your average faily fare, food is several notches above. Lobster corn chowder was outstanding!

Peppercorn's is good, reliable fare. The ambiance is far from elegant but the booths are quite adequate. We were surprised that it appeared on Open Table since most of our OT favorites are a bit more elegant. However, it's great to include a local favorite.
