The food quality has unfortunately been on a down slide since I first visited this restaurant half a year ago - at that time I was amazed about the food arrangement, preparation and taste. The Sashimi appetizers are still outstanding. Most recently I ordered the lamb and duck breast both of which were very poorly prepared. Given the price point of the dishes my expectations have not been met.

I ordered the risotto with white truffles. I specifically asked the waiter if the white truffles were shaved on top of the risotto and he confirmed this. When the risotto was served, it had black truffles mixed in with the risotto and no white truffles. The waiter had a pronounced accent so as to make understanding him difficult (experienced by other members of the party). I believe that he did not understand my query. Otherwise, the food and service were excellent.

Necessarily, because of the type of restaurant it is, there was noise. We went there on not-too-busy a night, too. Food was outstanding, service outstanding, everything outstanding except for the atmosphere. Was not crowded, and the noise was more bothersome to my wife who had three people (loud men) sitting in back of her. the noise is not conducive to a private dinner, so one would need to go on a very slow night and ask for a banquette in back of the room in order to have a romantic date. Wine list short but really outstanding too.l I give this restaurant the best on every count except the noise, and I just do not think they can do anything about it. We loved everything else about it, and we are tough to please - form new York.

Do not miss out on the sashimi sampling appetizer - it's excellent! Wonderful service, great wine. You pay for it all, but it's worth it.

Simply one of the best restaurants in San Diego. We dine out often and the food preparation is superb. I'd rate the food close to a 10. They have a French waiter that is absolutely outstanding. We've eaten there 7 times and eat there when we want to impress friends with their wonderful gourmet food. Dr. and Mrs. Michael Miroue

The food was amazing, especially the tasty hamachi sashimi (first course) and the port wine braised beef short rib (third course). The half-baked chocolate cake was outstanding - that was one of the best desserts we've eaten. Our waiter was excellent; the service was attentive and accommodating, yet not too "stuffy". He offered great food and wine suggestions and even served my husband a "sample" glass of wine when my husband had trouble deciding between which wine to order. The restaurant also had a nice ambiance. We would definitely go back!
