No matter what you say to the waitress, her response is to sell you something. Food is late -- would you like to order something in the meantime? Waiting for friend -- would you like to order something for the table? NO, I just want what I ordered. The selling is way too obvious. Also, it is ridiculous not to have butter in a restaurant that isn't vegan. I know you think you're cool because you offer an olive oil tasting. But I don't like olive oil on bread. I want butter.

Been wanting to try this place for a while now. It was truly worth the wait! Service was great and very helpful in explaining the menu. It can be a little confusing at first. The food was DELICIOUS. Lots of unusual pairings that I've never tasted before. We were very pleased and can't wait to go back.

Food was very good, however could use more selection for bread options to accompany the tapas (i.e. Pita, flatbread). Our rez was during happy hour, and overall restaurant was very load and difficult to hear. Even in the back restaurant area where we sat....

The wine was great, very good food, very reasonable and great decor. The only negative feedback I have is that our waiter was alittle slow and they should give more bread with the cheese platters; we had to ask 3 times for more bread.

I and a friend took our mothers to Fig and Olive for Mother's Day. The food was delicious. Portion size was just right. The staff was very friendly. Different waiters and one of the chefs inquired about our experience. The ambiance was nice. We sat downstairs. Upstairs looked a bit better. We all enjoyed the experience. The food is a bit costly depending on what you order and how much food you order. However, the food and the experience are well worth the expense.

We dined for Mother Day Brunch. The room we sat in was lovely and the service was more than attentive. The selection of foods from a prix fixe menu to breakfast items to small plates to full out entrees gave everyone a choice. We started with the cheese plate, fruit salad and assorted vegetables for the table to share. We then all had the poached eggs with asparagus. Everyhting was tasty and satisfied. The french press coffees and leafed teas were always a nice touch. I would recommend this place. Our waiters name was Sterling and besides having very stunning blue eyes he was friendly and a good server.

Worst dining experience I think I have ever had. Service was terrible. Order was not not in to the kitchen. drinks took forever and we didn't get fed until an hour and a half after we placed out order. I would not only not recommend but would encourage anyone thinking aobut going to stay as far away as possible. Plus, when my sole finally did come out, it was overcooked.

The food was exceptional but we waited for a long time for a waiter to take our food order, bring our wine and food, and bring the check. There was not enough patronage or what we order (6 crostini and provencal vegetable tasting plate) to explain the wait so I'm not sure what was going on. Again, the food was exceptional as was the ordered wine but, really, the service was terrible.

I find their small plates and apps to be better than their main courses. I have been there twice, the pasta dish I had as an entree was dry and not very interesting, but the other items were good. Better choice for a drink and something to nibble on than for a full scale meal.

The food was really delicious - wonderful flavors and plenty of selections for those who love a good meal without millions of calories. Interesting combinations that are a refreshing change from most places. The service, on the other hand, was the worst I've every experienced in my life. The waiter was incompetent in every respect and the bus boy could not lift a dish off the table without knocking it into me! I complained loudly to the manager, which is not at all my typical style. They need to do some serious training or else they need to hire some even slightly experienced help. I really want to go back for the chef but I'm not sure if I can make myself do it.

I love tapas & mediterranean food and chose Fig & Olive for a special birthday dinner for my birthday (what a mistake!)...it was specified on the reservation that it was a birthday, even though it was never acknowledged at the restaurant. We sat down and waited almost 20 minutes before a server even acknowledged our existence. The service was abysmally slow and non-responsive (requested bread 4 times...my husband and I never received a second drink after ordering them twice, my six year-old was starving and my seventeen year-old son could not believe how we felt so completely IGNORED! Our order was correct when it finally came. We did not order dessert and instead drove to pick up cupcakes but by then both of my sons were asleep.

I've been to the Fig & Olive in Meatpacking and had high expectations for their newest location. Our server was not only patient, but attentive and charming too. Our waiter was professional and curated the evening most positively. The food was above average, although one of the entrees arrived cold. The pace of the meal was good on a busy thurs. night The main negative, leaving a lasting impression, was the choice of tables we were offered. With an almost 2wk advance reservation, and arriving exactly on time, the only tables offered by the hostess were by the door (cold) or by the kitchen (high traffic, noisy). We chose to sit by the door and were constantly assaulted by waves of cold air from outside. VERY disappointed, as there were other two-tops visible on the main floor, and many more on the second floor (we found this out about 10 min after ordering).
