Made us wait over 20 minutes past our reservation time. Food and service were inconsistent to bad at times. The restaurant has definitely gone downhill over the past few years.

The food was outstanding , fresh and the flavoring was exceptional ... aside from the noisy group that sat next to us midway thru our romantic meal it was a 9 1/2 ...I know the restaurent isn't responsible but it did put a damper on the meal .....maybe if I can make a suggestion that that be considered when sitting groups next to more intimate groupings.... Thank you ..

  • They barely honored our reservation
    OpenTable Diner Since 2007VIP

They barely honored our reservation - sticking us in a dark hallway by the kitchen, and refusing us a table in the regular dining room because we booked through opentable. It was only after we got our coats and were ready to leave without eating that they "found" a table at the sushi bar. The hostess was rude and unhelpful, and the service staff was aloof and obnoxious. I have been eating here forever, and have always gotten the best treatment, but this time we were treated like garbage - a terrible way to spend my husband's birthday. What a letdown.

  • One of the worst dining experiences
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 3/22/2008
One of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. We were seated in a hallway, next to the private dining room at the back of the upper floor. After questioning on the availability of other tables, our hostess, whom did not acknowledge us upon arriving on the upper floor, understood our pridicament, but mentioned that no other tables were available. To step back, we booked this reservation about 4 weeks in advance. Clearly, the restaurant plays favorites and we were not them. We would have assumed that priority be given to early bookings. We relunctantly accepted our table, had our meal quietly by ourselves, in a most uncomfortable way, and left immediately upon completion. The food was good, but ambiance and service not.

Our server was absolutely the best- so attentive and informative but not to the point of being annoying. The food was wonderful- we had the yellowtail sashimi, sea bass, scallops, and the rock shrimp. Everything was absolutely perfect and we finished it all! The only complaint I had was the Asian Pear drink that I had was way to strong and didn't taste like pear at all (but the waiter did warn me that it has bourbon in it so it might have been my fault). All in all a wonderful experience for my husband and I!

Bondst was a lot of fun. We were there for Valentine's & had the special tasting menu. Almost everything on the tasting menu was good, but one of the sushi is "fishy". Overall, I still think it's worth the trip.

they need to readjust their air conditioning... i have changed seats twice but still feel the AC breathing right above my head... i could not enjoy and did not pay too much attention to the food since it was just so uncomfortable... anyway, this is the kind of restaurant that looks good (food and ambiance)... overall, i cannot find anything special that makes it stand out from all the other similar stylish restaurants... especially there are so many other neat and less expensive restaurants nearby...

  • If you want the best Sushi

If you want the best Sushi in New York City, look no further. I've eaten at Bond Street approximately 10 times, and I have never been disappointed. Their rolls, sushi and traditional entrees are inventive. The presentation is gorgeous. The servers are extremely attentive. The drinks are terrific and innovative - Try to Saki Martini. Don't be afraid to sit at the Sushi bar rather than in the dining room. The sushi chefs are very entertaining. For those of you who are risk takers, they have something called "Chef's Choice".....it may be worth a try. If you go, you must try the cod. It is incredible. Enjoy!! Adam Lipson
