The food offerings were ample, but the servings were sparse. The fish was fresh and we did enjoy the variety in the menu selection. However, for the $$value, we probably wouldn't return - lots of sushi competition out there to choose from.

I came here with some friends one Friday night and all of us really enjoyed this place. The fish was very fresh, the prices were reasonable, and the service was quick and on point. Also, my friends and I ordered several sushi rolls each and they brought them out to us one by one, which I really liked because it made it feel like a multicourse meal rather than me just stuffing my face with sushi. The only drawback is you have to ask for the real wasabi, the stuff they give you automatically is the fake stuff. Other than that, a great, fun dining experience.

We ended up here by chance and will definitely be back. Even on a Sunday night (when fresh fish is usually in short supply), the fish here was fresh and delicious. They offer a good selection of both traditional sushi items, japanese grill items and then the more western rolls. They also had some surprising and very tasty specialities like the fresh scallop and the sweet shrimp, both of which they prepare in a unique way. The selection of sakes was great as well.

Parking was easy, the service was good and the food was tasty. Ramen noodles were good, tempura, beef teriyaki, and sashimi were yummy. I have to say the walu and the tuna were DELICIOUS. We were talking about our next visit before we left.

We came here for Valentine's Day dinner. Street parking was easy to find within a block. Even though we arrived early for our reservation, we were seated immediately. The service was simply fantastic. They were prompt, polite, and friendly. When we asked for something somewhat unusual (gluten-free soy sauce) they had a bottle to our table immediately. As for food, we order the Hamachi Passion appetizer, which I found a little boring. (I'd highly recommend the Hamachi Tartare appetizer that I've had here on other occasions) For dinner we ordered the chef's choice 32 piece assorted sashimi. The fish (especially the Walu which was on special that night) was fresh and delicious. I will definitely be coming back to Live Sushi again.

Everything was great, except for the uni. They were out of the live uni, which would have been fabu, but instead, we took the regular uni. It wasn't entirely super fresh, so I had to knock down one rating for the food. Other than that, everything else was great, including the daiginjo sake!

Both very, very good. The sushi menu was an eclectic variety of sashimi, nigiri and rolls - with very unusual ingredients. I am normally a sushi-purist, but the use of different ingredients was very creative. The uni nigiri and something called Bergschneider Roll were memorable.

The hamachi was like butter. Very nice all around. A great improvement from the old Garden of Tranquility.

Great place, awesome specials, definitely a go-to restaurant we will drive to the city for. Wonderfully gluten free friendly! Ask - they have reduced sodium gluten free tamari in the back. Just remind them to use it on the plate as the garnish for your rolls (they usually drizzle soy on the plate to make it pretty!) Behind the Green Door - one of the most amazing foods I've ever tasted. Sea Urchin - ewwwwww Double Himachi roll - melts in your mouth Walu - just decent - had better other nights, and other sushi bars Note: Make Reservations. Don't bother on a weekend evening otherwise!

All the food and other stuff are fine. They charge extra service for cake cutting which is normal. However, 2 dollars per slice for cutting, is not fair enough. The point is not because of the money. If you had a birthday party there, the atmosphere between friends would suddenly dropping from the highest to the lowest by seeing this unexpectedness on the bill. Well, if no cake for cutting, this place is good to go.
