Since it opening in 2006, Red Pony Restaurant has impressed guests by staying true to a mission focused on cuisine and service.
Chef owned and operated, Red Pony changes its menu about six times a year with the intention of keeping ingredients the season’s freshest and the variety of dishes dynamic.
While a great deal of the menu pays homage to the Sophisticated Southern foods Chef Jason McConnell grew up on, you will also see a reflection of his travels, that drive his creativity.
It is our belief that food is something to be celebrated. We also believe that experience is a huge part of dining. Whether it be enjoying a crafted cocktail at one of our bars or enjoying dinner at the table, we want each guest to be seamlessly guided through their time at Red Pony Restaurant.

A long time favorite of ours! A very special evening for our Anniversary dinner. Ali is a fabulous server. Our meals here are always interesting and delicious! Ali is So very thoughtful and kind! Thank you!

Second time at Red Pony. Food is best part of Red Pony experience. We love the creativity of the chef(s). Last night I had the chicken which you'd think would be the least possible dish for a chef to be clever and creative. Who knew that a half chicken could be prepared both baked (breast) and fried (gently I'd add, thighs). Both equally tasty. The dish was complemented with a potato salad which was not your usual picnic potato salad. It was warm and accented visually with kale. Also had the gazpacho, a dish I enjoy creating at home. Again, the chef got really creative, mixing shrimp with traditional ingredients and one or two untraditional spices I could not quite identify but thoroughly enjoyed. Service from Elijah was great and informative.

We were able to get a same day reservation for 4 on a Friday night. The restaurant has a nice aesthetic, with the upstairs being a tick below the downstairs. The server was friendly and knowledgeable, but did rattle off every ingredient in 5-7 dishes which was a bit much. There was a welcome bite of gnocchi which was honestly the best part of the meal. Wish it could have been ordered as a main. The calamari bruschetta was a big letdown. The beef cigars were quite salty, and the bread course was decent. Red snapper was fantastic, the ribeye was a bit flat but the potatoes were stellar. We ordered the beet salad, which was tasty but definitely had an autumn flavor profile. Drinks were good. Overall an ok experience. Not sure the value is there, but would try again.

My group of seven had a great time. Before dinner we had drinks at the upstairs bar and enjoyed our bartender very much! Dinner was great and overall no complaints at all!

It has been over 10 years since I ate at the Red Pony, and it was even better than I remembered. Our waitress, Annie, was an amazing guide and knew the menu inside and out. We started with the bread service and spanakopita, both full of flavor but with the jam and two different flavored butters - delightful. We split the watermelon salad - again, perfect. Whatever they did to dehydrate the watermelon it set up the spice and texture just right. For the main course my tenderloin was perfectly cooked, on polenta and topped with a green sauce that was a great pairing. The seafood pesto pasta was made with handmade pasta and was seasoned perfectly. It wasn’t a cheap meal but The value for the quality was absolutely there! The portions were just right, too. Well done, and hat tip to Annie, again.

My wife and I are long time Franklin Residents...and have always enjoyed RP....in fact we REALY enjoyed RP in the temporary location --limited menu but REALLY Fresh and simple dinner options! We ordered the smoked fish dip and while both of us have had about every type of smoked fish dips known--even smoked caviar dip....never have we received a bowl of (hot) queso that we are not even sure had smoked salmon in it? You all are great (beyond the rest...) at the standards and standbys .....stick to that 😀👍...no need to try and fancy up a smoke fish dip and the other items on the menu.....
