A word from Trademark Drink + Eat
Trademark is the neighborhood bar for a remarkable neighborhood. With a nod to our close friends at the U.S. Patent and Trade Office, we take our inspiration from the innovators whose once daring ideas set the standard.

Then knowing exactly what the standard is, Trademark enjoys nothing better than tweaking it. Someone else had the brilliant idea to combine pork with beans, macaroni with cheese and gin with vermouth. We simply came up with a way to make you think you’re tasting them for the first time.

The mixologists behind our bar program understand that some drinks are made to forget a hard day, others to foster inspiration, and still others to toast old friends and instant acquaintances. We also noticed that good things happen when the atmosphere is properly stimulating. You’ll find the mood at Trademark as comfortable as it is inventive.

Breakfast is not their busiest meal and it should be. Excellent food with attractive presentation as well as an attentive and well trained wait staff. Would look forward to my next breakfast meeting there and will look at trying the Jamieson for other meals as well. My guest was also impressed.

It was overall positive, but one thing slightly disturbed me. I was charged for a second glass of iced tea. Most restaurants don't charge for that, so if the Grille deviates from that, they should alert customers.

We were excited because it isnt to far from where we live, but the service was awful, i ordered a mimosa and 45 minutes later after our food was done and having asked them for it several times, they still hadnt made it... the food tasted like precooked room service food, and there was no one there for weekend brunch... very disapointing!

Although the staff members (from the server to the waitress) were very pleasant and courteous, the dining experience we had at the Jamieson Grille was horrible. The restaurant was very noisy, with people blocking the entryway to the restaurant. Furthermore, the kids were served their dinner 45 minutes before my husband and I were served ours. The kids' meals were overcooked and dry, which is surprising for Mac & Cheese! In addition, the calamari was extremely salty. I credit the manager who came to us after our meal and apologized. He also gave us a sample of desserts to try to make up for our unpleasant meal experience.

The only thing I did not like about having brunch at the Jamieson Grille was that I had to pay $10 for valet parking. Other than that, I enjoy my brunch at this restaurant.

This was our second visit...each time, we have enjoyed the steaks and salads. The chef was very accomodating with a special food request, and the service has improved. We'll probably be dining there again. I think the place is still getting settled, so I look forward to further improvement, all round.

  • Nice, though I wish the menu
    OpenTable Diner Since 2006VIP

Nice, though I wish the menu either was larger or changed more regularly. As neighborhood people, after 4 visits we've had pretty much every entree on the menu. However, we're in hotel/restaurant management and understand that you're catering to largely a transient clientele. But, would be nice to show some appreciation for locals. Also, our server (Nathan H, who was fabulous!!!) told us that Ketel Citroen and fresh lime juice weren't available, though both these items are listed on your specialty cocktail menu. Perhaps better beverage/bar training for staff? Just a thought. Overall, great place to eat and drink for the neighborhood!

Quality new restaurant in Alexandria. Idea of having "trios" carried some foodie sensibilities. Some food was very good. Some was just solid. The pork chops are very well done, as are some of the soups and mac and cheese in their respective trios.

The coordination with the kitchen was uneven, but the wait staff were very nice and patient. We had to wait 25 minutes between coffee and desert to arrive. Our food was very good and beautifully presented. We plan to return. Also, we liked the menu very much.

Working in the hospitality industry, my bar is admittedly higher than that of the average guest. However, this was my third time dining at this restaurant, and it continues to improve. Couple points: - A space designed with a lot of smooth curves visually clashes with the square elements of the table (butter dish, salt/pepper shakers, dish with orchid blossom). - Apprise bar staff that while I wasn't bothered by the description of a margarita as "kick-ass," it's not appropriate for most guests. Though I admit I appreciated the frank honesty. - When serving wine from a mini carafe, I think it is best to do proper wine service- at least a sample tasting before emptying the entire carafe into the glass. Overall, a wonderful new restaur

Very nice venue; location is not the easiest to find. Valey parking makes it easier. Breakfast selection is interesting & good. Service was exception. I'd return for a business meal if something brought me to that part of Alexandria but it would not be a "destination."

    OpenTable Diner Since 2006
    Dined on 3/28/2008
Unfortunately, the smell of a dirty dish rag or a cleaning fluid odor surrounded us as we dined. It ruined our meal. After we reported the odor to the manager (who also smelled it), he urged us to move to another table. Even though we had finished our meal, we were happy to move. We were provided with dessert on the house. The dining experience was unpleasant, but the wait staff and manager were very nice to us. In addition, the waiter needs to be better trained in pouring wine. After asking my husband to taste from the bottle of wine we ordered, he should have poured wine in my glass first, not my husband's.

It was very reasonably priced for the selection of food. I especially enjoyed the mussels and the $2 dessert samplers ... you would think that the desserts would be too small for one person, but they were the perfect size to end a tasty meal. It is definitely more of a romantic setting but would be great for small parties looking for good conversation, given the great ambiance and quietness of the restaurant.
