A word from Trademark Drink + Eat
Trademark is the neighborhood bar for a remarkable neighborhood. With a nod to our close friends at the U.S. Patent and Trade Office, we take our inspiration from the innovators whose once daring ideas set the standard.

Then knowing exactly what the standard is, Trademark enjoys nothing better than tweaking it. Someone else had the brilliant idea to combine pork with beans, macaroni with cheese and gin with vermouth. We simply came up with a way to make you think you’re tasting them for the first time.

The mixologists behind our bar program understand that some drinks are made to forget a hard day, others to foster inspiration, and still others to toast old friends and instant acquaintances. We also noticed that good things happen when the atmosphere is properly stimulating. You’ll find the mood at Trademark as comfortable as it is inventive.

Awesome variety of macaroni and cheeses. Tough to find parking around there. That is the only downfall of this place. Has great speciality drinks, fun appetizers and although a limited menu, good food. I just wish the parking situation was better.

The Westin just remodeled and re named this restaurant. I was surprised when I arrived for dinner. While the menu is innovative, and I enjoyed some of the best calamari and seafood pot pie I ever tasted, the service and ambiance is marginal. The room is cavernous and very masculine. The room needs some carpeting, window treatments, and plants to soften the look. They were also very overstaffed. We had 5 different servers who kept hovering over our table every five minutes. It felt stifling. Give them another month to work out the kinks. This may be a real find by then.

While our service left a little to be desired, we were greeted well, had a great brunch (again), and will continue to return for a good, healthy breakfast in the future. I loved my blueberry orange protein smoohie to drink, and the brie and vine-ripened tomato egg-white omelet was also excellent. My husband had the egg-white omelet with spinach and cheddar and was talking about it all day.

My first time trying this out and I selected it for its location as well as menu description. Where I would not call it true "American" it maintains the basics but hosts so much more on the menu. The staff even made my selection which was off the menu. So cheers to that.

Jamieson Grille is what you would expect from a hotel restaurant. The food was decent but the service was very slow. I went with a group of 6 work colleagues for a working lunch ao the ambiance was appropriate for the occasion, but I wouldn't have gone here on another occassion (e.g., dinner with my husband, evening with the girls, etc.)

Went for Valentine's Day - SUPER food, but the service was a bit slow, and I never received the second glass of wine I ordered. Noise level was a bit high, and the brightly-lit dining room wasn't overly romantic. That said, the outstanding food and well-organized wine list will probably bring us back.

Not a bad meal - we ate the Valentine's Day fixed-price meal at $59 each, and with cocktails and tips the total was almost $200. The food was good, as were the drinks, but probably not worth the expense, especially with the other less-expensive and arguably better options available a few blocks away on King Street. All in all, I'd say it compares favorably to most other hotel restaurants I've encountered.

I would not call it fine dining, but the prices were resonable and the quality was fresh and good. It was a small but solid menu. I would not hesitate to eat there again, but do not think I would go out of my way to go there. It was in a Westin, and had a quality you would expect from a Westin - high.

My husband and I went there during restaurant week. The server was nice and attentive. We tried the crispy calamari for appetizer. It was served on a bed of kalamata olive aioli which made them a bit soggy. Bummer because I think the intention behind the dish was good but it should've been served on the side. The calamari itself could use a bit more seasoning. The grilled grouper was great while the braised short-rib was only so-so. The restaurant is located in the Carlyle neighborhood, inside the Westin and the area seemed a bit desolate at night. Overall, the food was good and we felt it had the potential to do better. It's a bit out of the way for us but we would probably try it again at some point.

I found this place on Open Table and had never heard of it before. We were fortunate to have been able to try it during Alexandria restaurant week. I thought the lay out and the lighting was perfect. The menu options all looked so delicious. We did order from the prix fixe menu but added on a few things. My soup was delicious. My husband ordered the muscles, which he enjoyed. I was a bit diss appointed in the entrees. He had the pork, which I thought was a bit dry. I had wonderful flavor, though. The star on his plate was the smoked bacon and Gouda mashed potatoes. I can't describe how divine that was! I had the shortribs. Not as flavorful as I thought it would be and was frankly disappointed. Overall, we did have a nice time.

For excellent breakfast fare this is one of my favorite places, only matched by Jackson 20 in the Monaco Hotel. Yes, if you are just a grits, hash browns, eggs and bacon fan there are much better value places in Alexandria. But for interesting and good food in a nice environment for carrying on a conversation whether for business or getting together, this is a good choice.

I was not sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. When we arrived to celebrate my moms 71st birthday, we were received like visiting dignitaries. The staff was very accommodating by giving us plenty of time to talk and fellowship one with another but at the same time keeping the courses coming expeditiously enough that we felt comfortable. The food was excellent and there was a wide range of things to accommodate the different palates of our party which included two vegans. The food was reasonably priced and the restaurant was quiet and in an very nice part of Alexandria. I arranged beforehand for a birthday cake for my mother and the staff exceeded all of my expectations by preparing a cake in the shape of the numbers 71. Great

We dined at this restaurant 3 times during our vacation (incidentally, we were staying at the hotel so it was convenient). The food was good with a moderate variety of choices. Contemporary but casual, no frills dining. Stick to the bar menu and chat with the bartender Wanda...she's amazing! The flatbreads were good while the steak and salmon were passable; however, the crab cake and the bacon gouda mashed potatoes are a must at this restaurant!
