A word from Da Vinci
Da Vinci Ristorante is renowned and highly recognized in Boston's stylish restaurant scene, bringing wonderful flavor and ambiance to the South End/Back Bay area since 2007.

The sophisticated interior is warm and welcoming and the staff extends that feeling to each and every patron. The recently redesigned and modernized space features a comfortable full service bar.

Chef Peppino's menu reflects a blend of modern and classic Italian cuisine from his training in Europe's Italian restaurants. It features an array of beautifully presented Antipasti and Entrees, and the chef's homemade pastas are made fresh every day as is the bread and all desserts.

Great emphasis is also placed on accommodating guests with dietary, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan restrictions to ensure that each and every guest has an unforgettable experience from start to finish.

Loved the food, but inattentive server. Our server never came to check on us once the food came out (starting with the appetizer). Finished with the main course, we waited for our server but never came. We decided not to order dessert and wanted our bill. We had to flag down a gentleman who looked like the manager. He was not very friendly. Didn't ask if we enjoyed our meal or anything. Without a word, he went and got the bill and came back without a word with our bill. Our server finally came back to ask us to sign the receipt. Other than the main waiter, the other servers (food runners?) were attentive and helpful. In sum, excellent food, disappointed by the service from the waiter and manager.

I held a business dinner meeting here. The food and service was wonderful! So nice to have a family run restaurant, with all food made fresh in house. You can definitely tell, and appreciate the difference. They were so accommodating to our group and helped make a potential challenge run smoothly. I would definitely return, for either work or personal event.

I do not understand why I have not been to Da Vinci until now. It was an extraordinary experience at all levels: - Attentive and friendly staff, but not obtrusive - Creative menu - that is backlit! - Deliciously memorable food; handmade pasta is out of this world - Elegant and sophisticated decor; tasteful with no design gimmicks You can tell the chef and the staff put in their best efforts. I highly recommend to anyone and everyone. Da Vinci is a very worthwhile place to dine. I would like to thank them for a delightful evening.

From the greeting b the hostess, to the attention and helpful recommendations from our waiter, Daniel, the resarant exded a great charm. The food was perfect. Well executed, great thought about the preparation without this being a showcase of a chefs ego, but an exceptional demonstration of modern Italian style

The food was amazing, the ambience lovely--a perfect venue to celebrate our thirty-second anniversary (although that was our secret.) I rated the noise level at moderate, but I might attribute that to the usual Saturday-night energy, with larger parties. We plan to return again and again!

For the relatively high price point, the food was very mediocre. Pastas, while sounded good on the menu, were very basic. The sauce on the Bucatini tasted like it came out of a jar. The Arancini was pretty good, but the "Proscuitto di Parma" accompanying it was not good. I don't think it was a real Proscuitto di Parma. The service was okay, but the waiter was distracted and not really paying attention. I would definitely NOT go back.

The food was outstanding. We tried a couple of the entrees as appetizers and it turned out to be a great idea. The three of us had different entrees and each one was delicious. the Chef/owner came around and asked us about the food and the experience. It's nice when someone who owns a reataurant is concerned with his patrons. The food was excellent. The recommended wine was perfect with my meal. We will definitely be back.

Just Amazing! We were really happy that we decided to go back to Da Vinci. As soon as the Manager arrived at the table he made a very positive impression, he made our group felt like at home, welcome and relaxed. Great Food, specially the Beef Tenderloin – Simple but perfectly prepared. Pastas were excellent – homemade- so much better that anything I ever had in the North End – Thank you to Spencer and his team for such a Wonderful evening.

Loved this place - very convenient to our hotel so we made a last minute reservation and were were so glad we did. Their ceasar salad was amazing with the crispy coated poached egg and house made tagliatelle with mushrooms just outstanding, cooked perfectly al dente. My husband had the veal chop which was so tender, almost didn't need a knife. Many good restaurants in this area and Da Vinci doesn't dissapoint!

we were welcomed and taken to our table upon arrival. the ambiance was quiet and soothing. when we opened the menu it was "backlit" which made our decisions that much easier. we chose the spinach ravioli with shrimp and the backed haddock. both had just been added to the menu this night. they were done to perfection. i haven't been to DaVinci's in some time and was so pleased that the quality has remained steadfast.

We have been to Da Vinci many times, but this week it seems they are aspiring to be among the top restaurants in Boston based on their sky high prices. $30-40 per entree, for example. The food is good, the service is good, and the ambiance is good. But nothing is exceptional and overall this restaurant does not come close to justifying its new, very high prices.

Have to say the food was amazing! However the service, not so much! I understand it was resturant week! But we did not even get offered coffee with our dessert! I ordered a piece of steak, med. well! He never had me cut into it to see if the temp. was correct, which was not! He never came over to ask if we wanted salt, pepper or grated cheese. For our first impression it really left a sour feeling...

My date and I went there randomly during restaurant week. The food was great and tasty, no complaints. The girl at the front was nice and the waiter was willing to joke around with me (A+). The interior looks really nice and is great for a date. We went when it was full of people and there is a descent amount of background noise from people talking (which is ok because it gives the place a little life!) this isnt a place to bring your grandma during peak hours.

My family and I went for the Dine Out Boston dinner menu on a Monday night. Our drinks came out in good time as we chatted over the bread basket. Each plate came out after the prior one was cleared. Water was constantly refilled. The waiters were nice and attentive. The food is good, not something that is out of this world but good. The gentleman even helped my mother and I into our coats. I would come back.

I really wasn't blown away by this restaurant. I was very excited for this reservation. When we walked in we were not greeted by the hostess already standing at the front, she was too wrapped up in looking at her computer screen. Not very friendly for a hostess, the first person you see coming into the restaurant. Honestly I thought the food was going to be a lot better than it was. I got the bolognese, "Boston's best", needless to say I was expecting great things. I was really underwhelmed, it was under seasoned and just boring. The waiter was attentive enough but really didn't go above and beyond. The staff was all hanging out by the bar. Someone who was working was drinking wine at the bar. The worst part is, I think it was a manager.

Maybe just don't go. The food was really good and until the end the waiter was great. All I did was ask him to pack my desert to go and he yelled at me why can't you just finish it. It was very hard for me to lose 30 lbs and what he said to me was outrageous. I think the whole restaurant heard him. That was It for me. I complained to the owner and he didn't care. I also tried to use my rewards card and he refused to take it. First he said the Computer was broken. The. He told me the truth that he won't take It because he doesn't make enough money during restaurant week. Again outrageous and he doesn't care. I will never go back

Some restaurants hold back during Restaurant Week, but not Da Vinci. The ambience is beautiful - welcoming and romantic. Arancini apps were crisp outside and cheese-filled inside. Rigatoni Bolognese was cooked perfectly - you could taste the sauce was made with sirloin, not ground beef. We split a chocolate souffle instead of the Restaurant Week dessert offerings - creamy and oh, so chocolately. Our dining "neighbor" had rack of lamb, which he said fell off the bone. The waiter was delightful - always near when we needed him, but never hovering. The staff anticipated our needs refilling water and bread, fresh change of silverware, etc. Can't wait to return to try that rack of lamb myself!
