This restaurant was a great find! Right on the water, not crowded in by boat docks. The hostess was very willing to work with us on moving up our reservation by 30 mins, and even held a particular table I requested on the edge of the patio so we could have the best view of the harbour, watching ships sail in & out. The food was served fresh & hot, nothing was colder than the other as if it had been left on the counter for 20 mins. while something else was prepared. Plus, nature helped us keep away a few noisy patrons with the sea breeze, which was too much for them on top of their 5 noisy kids, so the deck was energetic, with lots of locals mixed with tourists, giving you a great mix of chit-chat to listen in & get suggestions on places 2go

The food was average, nothing too special on the menu. The seafood was fresh, although they were out of the grouper when we tried to order. For the quality of the food (average) I thought it was a bit high priced. The atmosphere is nice. It wasn't too crowded or loud when we went. Overall a nice place.

The dinner was wonderful, the calamari was spectacular, prices were exactaly what was expected when we made our reservations. The dining area is one open room, so if you are looking for quiet and romantic this is not the place, but if you want an enjoyable dinner and don't mind the noise it would be perfect for a small party of two or a group of eight. We wished it had been warmer so that we could of sat outside to really enjoy the view.

As always my guests enjoyed the Fleetlanding. I noticed that the wait staff has changed so the service was little slow, but then again it was Saturday night-and you do got to take the good with the bad. Everyone was happy and impressed and the place wasn't as packed. We got a great table so all in all it was a great experince.

Fleet Landing provided a unique atmosphere. A good mixture of patrons - couples, families and groups were all present on the early Friday evening that we were there. Food was excellent. Portions were generous. Service was exceptionally friendly and responsive. I would recommend this resteraunt to anyone for a pleasant evening of dining and socializing.

Our server, Joshua, was awesome and very attentive. Our first table was very romantic and close to the window, as requested. We loved our table but unfortunately the 8 top in the corner was EXTREMELY TOO LOUD. There was a woman at the table that was extremely intoxicated and should have been cut off from any more alcohol. There were other tables around them that complained as well. I felt as though the manager should have visited the table and asked her to tone it down. The food was spectacular. The oyster appetizer special was out of this world! I ordered one for my entree and then ended up ordering another one because it was so yummy!!! This is one of my favorite restaurants in Charleston, SC!

  • I was a little disappointed
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 2/14/2009
I was a little disappointed at the set up of the seating. I did not like sitting side by side another couple. I did not feel that I could look around at all or the people next to me would think I was looking at what they were eating or listen to their conversation, not an very intimate place. I was also not happy about the value of the food I recieved. It was over priced for the amount that you get. For example I ordered the pan fried lump crab app. and it was only one cake, which I was aware of, but the size was way to small for $11.50. It should have been two for that price and on the entiree you should get 3 for $22.50. My husbands dinner was great. I would not recommend it for a cozy dinner for two, but maybe for lunch.

If you enjoy seafood..this is a great spot on the water. I had a dozen raw oysters, fried oysters and mussels in a white wine broth for an entre'. They were all fresh and great. Ample wine list and service was excellent. My wife had an excellent fresh grilled local grouper with a lemon butter caper sauce.

We're new to Charleston, and apparently so is this restaurant. We love the atmosphere and the food. They claimed to be known for their "hush-puppies" and they should be. They are not your "typical" kind. It is a great place for a family meal or a romantic dining experience. The parking is a little difficult, but there is a nearby lot that is not too expensive. Haven't ordered anything from the menu yet that did have some "wow" factor. Highly recommended!

Our second visit to Fleet Landing was disappointing. First visit in Sept. 2007 was suprisingly good. Not fancy or inventive but well prepared seafood, one of the few restaurants in the historic district for southern fried seafood. This visit the food was not nearly as good and our server was forgetful and inattentive. My wife's flounder was akin to Captain D's style. Side dish was not brought until late in the meal. We won't be back and that's a shame the water view is very attractive.

Recommended by friends. Very casual. Our first time eating here - we visited at 11:00 am for "brunch" and ordered a "special" seafood quiche. The quiche was a generous portion on a bed of grits. It was good but not what I was expecting - just not what I normally eat. In hindsight, I wish I had ordered something more typical from the menu such as fried shrimp, fish or a sandwich. Also ordered pimento cheese spread and crackers as an appetizer which was homemade and very fresh and good. Other menu items I saw coming to other tables looked good. Prices were reasonable. I will go back and would recommend it.

The decor seemed to pull off Nautical the right way with wide views of the harbor, spartan but comfortable flow throughout restaurant with a slightly rowdy hum at the outdoor bar. The food was decent and family friendly with your basic fried seafood combos. The fancier fare was not executed well including a butter drenched pan roasted trout and soggy stuffed hushpuppies. The beer was cold and prices were reasonable for the area. This was my third trip. Outside of the execution issues, we will keep coming for the beer and the views.

I visited the restaraunt and chose it for the final dinner of my honeymoon because I felt that it would be the perfect end to a memorable week. I would highly recommend this restaraunt for seafood lovers and they have a few items of the non-seafood variety. Price was very affordable for the location, food quality, and service. I know I will eat there on future visits to Charleston.
