Whenever we travel to Sedona, we ensure that we add a visit to L'Auberge to our schedule for the Sunday brunch. The food and the outdoor dining by Oak Creek simply is by far the best dining experience. We certainly look forward to our return visit!

We celebrated a friend's 70th birthday, dining next to Oak Creek. The experience was fabulous, the meal was outstanding, and the seating next to the creek was marvelous. The matre'd was exceptionally accomodating/helpful. The service was very good but at times seemed slow to respond. Overall a very good experience, our friend was pleased.

The food and surroundings were great. Everyone asked if you were staying there. we were not and from the beginning our service was horrible. We were forgotten at our table and had to flag down a random waiter for everything we wanted. And to top it off the cappuccino was luke warm.

The resort is under construction and getting to the restaurant was somewhat of a pain - you have to park your car, then be shuttled to the restaurant in a golf cart. This was quit the hassle when we could have just walked a couple hundred yards to the door but weren't allowed due to the construction. My wife had the steak panini which she didn't enjoy very much - especially for $22. It was pretty much a hamburger panini, honestly. I had the lamb shank which was actually rather good, if not a bit under seasoned.

This was our first experience at your restaruant. My friend and I were looking for a nice meal with upscale surroundings. We stayed at the Orchard and was pleasantly surprised to find you as the sister hotel and restrurant. I went online to read your reviews. Some were not so good regarding your service. I was very plesantly suprised to find the service excellent especially our waitress Tanya, matre d and busboy. Food was delicous. Portions adequite for women, but might have been too small for my husband who was not with me on my AZ vacation. All in all we had an excellent French meal. Thanks....Would definately eat there again :) Max and Geri

The sounds that came from the creek on this particular night were just loud enough to drown out all other conversations from others patrons, but not too loud for my husband and I to have a comfortable conversation. The food was fantastic. The staff was very professional and the bar tender knows her stuff. It was only our third year anniversary, but so far this night was by far the most romantic yet. We hope to visit again soon!

The last time we dined at L'Auberge there wasn't water in the creek. This time our Easter Day experience was beyond description. We sat creekside and were able to witness Mother Nature at her best. We watched ducks floating by, listened to birds singing in the trees above us, saw a squirrel dash among our tables and up onto the grass, and had hummingbirds dashing here and there. The food was grand and our waitress was efficient and friendly. Due to snow runoff and recent rains we had ample water in Oak Creek and it was delightful listening to the sound of the water rushing past while enjoying our meal. We both savored being able to relax, enjoy unrushed conversation and have nature put on a performance for us.

The location on Oak Creek is beautiful but difficult to access because of major construction. The chicken breast entree was fair. The angus burger was less than average. The service was marginal. Overall, it was a disappointing 2nd visit to L'Auberge. I chose to take my elderly parents to this restaurant, where they had been 20 years ago. It was quite unsatisfactory.

Now that the Executive Chef, Eric Schmidt, is over this restaurant as well as Hundred Rox, L'Auberge is truly the best in Sedona. Wonderful presentations, fish and meat dishes prepared perfectly and simply with fresh ingredients. Service was best we've had in years. The only "problem" is that major construction around the restaurant requires a shuttle ride from above the property which can involve a long wait in a cold evening. But, that is only a temporary condition.

  • Let's start by saying that
    dleannais
    Dined on 4/6/2009
Let's start by saying that service is not what makes this restaurant. I would have thought that at this price point, and on a slow Monday night, the service would have been spectacular. It wasn't even close and I've been treated better at chain restaurants. The food, however is an entirely different story. The beet salad with tempura goat cheese was amazing as was the lobster bisque. My husband had the Bass, which was good but not overwhelming but the duck was the best I've ever had. Desserts were not particularly intriguing so we took a pass. The wine list is extensive and well balanced in price range.

Although major construction is underway at the resort, the dining experience was delightful. Since it was a Saturday, no construction work was underway so construction noise was not an issue and from the dining area the work is not visible. Not sure if construction noise is an issue during the week. Looking forward to returning and hoping the constrution will be complete by then.

We had a very nice dinner at l'Auberge. The food was very good and the service was done at the right pace to have sufficient time to enjoy everything ( which is very rare in the USA !! ). This restaurant was highly recommended by friend and we were not disapointed. The only other good restaurant we found was at la Tabla restaurant in Tucson. The food was good but the service was way too fast.

My Husband and I had the most wonderful time dining here. The service was outstanding and the food was incredible. We will definitely be dining here again soon. We do recommend if you are sitting near the windows for dinner, to make your reservations early so you can see the sunset over the creek it's a spectacular view. And I also recommend going for lunch so you can sit on the patio near the creek. Thats going to be our next reservation. Can't beat a bottle of wine, great service, great food, and a great view. Looking forward to the next time. :)

Our dining experience was lovely other then the fact that it was their first day serving outside. Having said that. the service was not where it needed to be. Also when making the reservation online, I was not informed that outdoor dining was the only option. It would have been nice to know so we would have been prepared with sweaters or jackets which would have make our experience more comfortable. The outdoor ambiance along the creek is relaxed and calming. When it comes to the food, it was wonderful!! Make sure you ask for the olive spread for your bread....delicious!!!

We were visiting Sedona one day of our Arizona vacation and had heard good things about this restaurant, on the grounds of an inn by a wooded creek off the main (very commercial)street. The driveway was closed for construction, so getting to the restaurant was complicated, but well worth it! Beautiful outside and in (walls painted intense colors--reds, greens, yellows). I had duck, not something I usually order, and it was tender and delicious, served with a kind of mushroom pancake. (I wish I had taken notes). The appetizer was golden beets with a kind of red-beet mousse garnish--wonderful. Our dessert was a fantastic panna cotta. The service was friendly and helpful--even witty. Wine recommendations were excellent. I wish we lived closer!

The dinning experience was not as expected. We chose the tasting menu with wine pairing. Quality was marginal. Some courses were brought out without the wine; we could wait and let the foods get cold or eat them without pairing, which we did, then the wine came out. Portions are too large for tasting menu. Large portions can be unappertizing; my wife was full before the entree, so she requested to skip the dish and go straight to dessert. The chef didn't want to short changed us, so he piled my wife portion on my plate. We talked about may be there was a all-you-can-eat buffet in the next room, that where the waiter was getting our food. For comparison, we had the best tasting menu dinner at L'Auberge Restaurant at Carmel by the sea.

This is a storybook restaurant in a storybook location...next to a rushing creek with tall trees, surrounded by French inn cottages. The ambiance is simply magnificent. The only critical thing to offer is we ordered the first course House Made Mozzarella Caprese to share and it was comprised of two extremely thin, small slices of tomato served on a platter large enough to accommodate a small Thanksgiving turkey. For $16 it wasn't worth it, even for one. However, the remainder of the meal was elegantly presented and quite worthwhile.

It was absolutely wonderful! The only reason I scored the food as less than outstanding was because I am a vegan, and there were very few meat & dairy free items available for brunch. If that selection were expanded (a wider variety of fruits & more dairy/egg free breads & pastries), it would be perfect! Also, I don't recall ever being offered coffee, though people around me had some... The ambiance is lovely, the presentation beautiful, and the waiter was a delight! I really appreciated the special plate created for my friends' birthdays... they were thrilled!
