Disappointing for a 27 in the Zagat - Expectation are high with 27 in the Zagat The appetizer were very average though the desserts were excellent. The space is tiny! we had to wait at the bar ( tiny too ) and we were disturbed 4/5 times by the hostess or some waiter to go through. The decor is ...sort of inexistant. Finally at the table where we were there was this very annoying smell of rotten cheese like a piece of old cheese was stuck to the couch we sat on

The menu wasn't as interesting as expected. Some dishes (fois gras appetizer)were imaginative and tasty) and some (short ribs) merely competent. Altogether, overrated and overpriced.

Food was great and the service was friendly but professional. The chicken liver amuse bouche was very tasty - and I hate liver. The portions were on the smaller side but i didn't leave hungry. I really trusted the judgement of the server on food/wine selection and the chef delivered on the recommendations. The dessert choices were too ambitious in my opinion - I was hoping for one choice that I was really drawn too, but we left without eating dessert. The wine list was appropriately priced and we were happy with the choices of wines by the glass.

A small gem of an eating establishment with wonderful floral arrangements, outstanding food preparation, presentation and service; A wonderful wine list of unknown vineyarads, but aboslultely great. I have never had a so so wine,it is always great. Service is beyond great, in which food is brought and displayed in front on you in a most professional manner. You are truly a guest at Annisa, and I plan to go there more often.

absolutely one of the most fabulous meals i've had in manhattan. the 4 of us had the tasting menu (7 courses)...we spent ~$750 overall including 2 bottles of wine. they had a spanish 1989 white wine that was absolutely amazing. the red they had was tremendous as well and was their last wine (very unique wine menu in that they only carry bottles by female vintners). the only qualm was that our pork was tough in the tasting menu - although it was very tasty, it was tough for everyone

We tried Annisa based on the review and the photo of the place but they do not reflect what it's represented. The photo of the place represent as it's romantic and posh setting but the main dining room is old, very bacic and it needs some major paintings done. For the price it's charging for food and wine, they should be able to invest some money for decor and the painting. I let them know it was our wedding anniversary, hoping s/he will at least get us a decent table. Got stuck at the corner surrounded by dirty chipped wall paints. During the whole time we were there while doing the 7 course meal, I noticed they had various empty tables available. Wine list is generally pricy and very limited California wines, food not bad in general.

My wife and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary here after Perilla released our reservation on some stupid technicality. Thank God they did or we may not have found Annisa! We had the seven course tasting with the wine pairing. It was such an experience. Each course was delicious and some were spectacular. The wines chosen for the pairings were not exceptional in and of themselves, but they really went well with each course. It wasn't cheap, but for a special occasion, completely worth it. Highly recommended. Oh, and the service was refined and unobtrusive. Thank you Anissa for helping us make our anniversary so memorable!

Special dinner - wife's birthday. Splurged on the 7 couse tasting menu with the matching flight of wines. Outstanding in every respect - food, wine, service, attitude. Just outstanding! The only part that makes me rate the service as very good from outstanding was at the very end. Our waiter just disappeared after dropping off the dessert menu. We waited so long for his return that we ran out of time for dessert, which was disappointing as it was a birthday celebration. We finally hailed another wait person and got the check. At that point it looked as though there was some sort of conflict between some of the wait staff not involving our table.

Nothing gets in the way of the delicious and creative food, and that's very important. The decor is intimate and tastefully simple. The service is prompt, attentive and knowledgeable without being pretentious or stuffy. This is the kind of dining experience that you want to linger over. I always felt we could speak with the waiter about any and every detail of our evening. Only one caveat (which is minor); we wish the coffee had been a bit hotter. The tasting menu was a delight from start to finish. Well done!

Suddenly everything sounded spectacular. The staff might want to incorporate some of these mouth watering description into the menu.
