We loved the food and the menu and the view. The service was horrible. Our server was pushy and uninterested in OUR needs. We asked for drinks which we never received, bread that never came and he pushed us and rushed us into "add ons" that we didn't have time to think about, increasing the price of our meal. When we left realizing that he had not returned our charge card, we called and were told to talk to accounting. We've called three times now to speak to accounting, leaving our name and number and still have not heard from them; where's our charge card?? It's really too bad that service could ruin the venue because the personality of the menu, food choices and taste, and view are all spectacular.

Overpriced for what you get. Service not very attentive and slow. Sinks in women's restroom have auto on off and water temperature was too hot. Both my wife and daughter complained of almost scalding their hands. Music was too loud, hard to hold a conversation across our table.

We got there an hour before our reservation to enjoy drinks and appetizers in the bar and grabbed a table next to the window. Our waiter was prompt and attentive and informed us we could stay there to eat but we had already decided to eat outside. I asked the host if this was possible and he said just to let him know when we were ready and he would take us out. True to his word we grabbed the last outside table and had a wonderful meal. There was no pressure to hurry and we left full and happy. It was a perfect night.

Try the Chocolate Bomb, new and not on the menu quite yet. Very rich with a Cabernet sauce I understand they make themselves. Very similar to Anette's Chocolate (www.anettes.com) Cabernet chocolate sauce. Quite the yum! This go-round I had the sturgeon in mild curry with clams, muscles and vegetables. Starters was a medium size serving of breaded/fried calamari. Both were delish! Wife had the combo crab and seafood pasta. Daughter had the jumbo shrimp version of my dish. Quite an enjoyable gnashing by our account. Not sure if they have a kiddie menu but they are open, casual to elegant, quick and courteous. Definitely a return candidate for other occasions.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2006
    Dined on 5/25/2008
We wanted to try something out of the ordinary for us and The Dead Fish was great fun. Totally out of the way, but easy to get to, wonderful view of the bridge. The food wasn't quite what I expected, crab benedict contained spinach (not disclosed on the menu) and was made with baguette, very hard to cut and eat. I thought the huge side of mixed vegetables was tasty, but didn't really go with the eggs benedict. I ordered a Bloody Shark, which was made with fresh tomato juice, light and unusual, but lacked seasoning. I'd like to go back for dinner, which I think would suit the Italian seafood theme better than brunch. Overall, definitely worth the trip!

Views are great. Most of the food was good, except the Ceasar Salad was awefull. Staff could use some tips on service, half on them you could hardly hear what they were saying. We asked the server who brought our dinners for another side of dressing and never received it, we ended up asking another young man who was cleaning tables, he brought it right away. It was our mom's birthday, the waitress came and put some candles on the table with our dessert and said something along the lines of best wishes from the fish but was about gone from our table as she was saying it, I didn't know if they were coming back to sing or if she could just blow out the candles. In all dinner was good and we will return again.

It was truly wonderful. The Dead Fish has perhaps the most beautiful view of any restaurant in the greater Bay Area. The food was very, very good and the service was good too. Wonderful setting for outdoor dining with view of Carquinez Straits and the bridges. Service is attentive, friendly and accommodating. If only the food matched the views and the servers! Very ordinary and uninspired cuisine. The fish dishes could be so much better than they are. But if you set your expectations correctly, drinks on the patio and the Dead Fish hamburger will satisfy.

Well, the place is great. The view is awesome from the bar. I had a chicken hamburger with super delicious garlic fries, not something you'd expect at a seafood restaurant, and both were tasty. The seafood, had by others at the table, looked the delicous too. The service was just right and they're quite accomodating when you're trying to split a check with a good number of others. I would only say the room in the back, while spacious enough for 20, had a strange vibration from what I belive was the kitchen. Periodic, not continuous. And even though, during a fun filled conversational evening, it was always strange when it happened. Although, if you're just coming with your spouce, you probably will be far from the vibration.
