We had the taste menu with the wines and the food was ok, no more no less but the real disappointment was the wine. The quality and taste of the wines were good but the amount of wines with each meal was ridiculous little. We were served between 50 and 100ml to each meal. At least for the main course I expect a full glass.

we thought the dress code was a little bit too casual and slightly lowered the tone of the place,it's much nicer to see people dress for dinner approiately. the waiter was a little too patronising!!!! Overall though a nice experience and excellent food.

We were very disappointed in the immediate lack of attention when we arrived. We were sent upstairs, downstairs, upstairs, then back downstairs. While we were waiting for a table by the window, we were sent downstairs, where we were treated with a lack of respect. You need to have a bar for those who are waiting and not put us where the others chose to eat. It was very confusing and a little upsetting to be treated as if we were cattle in a line. Very disappointing. The plus was our waitress was exceptionally friendly and polite. I wish I could remember her name. She was a gem. Our reservations were for 8:30 on Saturday, April 26. We were seated around 9:00. She is a blond with a little daughter and is also an actress. She was wonderful.

I absolutely loved my birthday meal. We had the New York tasting menu with wines. And a birthday candle. The View is my favourite restaurant in my favourite hotel in the world. I hope I can manage to visit New York and the View again but it is rather a long way from England!

Excellent service, great atmosphere. Being disabled found that it was very wheelchair friendly and nothing was too much. Yes it was a little extra but was very reasonable when you recieved the 5 STAR EXCELLENT SERVICE AND ATTENTION to detail it became great value. I would have no hesitation in recommending to all U.K. visitors and a great miss if not tried whether for lunch or dinner. A BIG THANK YOU FOR A MOST MEMORABLE OCCASION AND WILL DEFINITELY VISIT AGAIN WHEN I RETURN TO THE BIG APPLE.

We booked our table online from the UK. When we arrived everything was perfect. We were celebrating a birthday and anniversary. The atmosphere, the view, and the food was out of this world. Our waiters were terrific, extremely friendly and polite. I am just so sorry I can't remember their names. Thanks very much for a wonderful evening. Well recommended

We had made a reservation for a party of 4 three weeks in advance. So we were disapointed to be placed on a table in a very bad position next to a big pillar and far from the window. We asked for another table and had to wait for 20min, standing in the entrance.... Food is good but isn't worth the price.

I don't think anything could make up for the horrible food at this place. The wait staff was pleasant, but I had to ask for water, refill of soda, and the check. I felt that the waiter was more interested in the table of 8 than our table for two. My entree was not fit to serve in a school cafeteria. What a disappoinment.

I enjoyed my dinner at The View, overall I feel you are paying for the location rather than the food. They offered fine cuisine but I have had better prepared items elsewhere at a much lower cost. It's a great place if you're a tourist in the area, but I'm sure the regulars have much better spots to hit.

the evening at the view was very enjoyable and also the food. the only question that i would like to raise, is that we were waiting on the ground floor for quite awhile in a queue that didn't seem to move. a young lady in front of us went to enquire what was happening. she informed us the queue was for the buffet dining, but if you had a reservation to go on up. there was no information stating this and no member of staff to let us know. on finding a member of staff we were shown up to the restaurant straight away. also it was very quiet but we were'nt given the option of a window seat.

The views of New York as the sun was setting were memorable. The servers were a little distracted and we were disappointed that we had to flag them down for service requests. All in all, a nice place to go for a special occasion and the food was a pleasant, tasty surprise.

Our second time taking guests from overseas to this restaurant. The food is good and the view is wonderful. I was disappointed with The View Restaurants Service,My waiter Frank was the worst waiter I ever had in life. I am a huge fan of the Marriot hotel and I was celebrating the 32nd Birthday of my fiancee. I just checked out of the Marriot Residence Inn in New Rochelle and decided that The View would be a fine choice for an intimate dinner. Once I was seated my $230.00 nightmare began, my waiter Frank rushed us to order and was annoyed when I asked for recommendations on drinks and entrees. I advised him that it was my fiancees Birthday he did not even have enough class to wish her Happy Birthday. My fiancee and I work in Law Enforcement yet we were treated like perpetrators, hate to pull th race card but hey I am black and was reminded of that.

The view was great; the food disappointing, as far as I am concerned. And I not even talking about the small serving. The NY Clam Chowder I ordered tasted more like minestrone (did I spell it right?). As for the medium sirloin, it was tough and touched (smelled). My wife, who had a different order, is in complete disagreement with me - she enjoyed all. And that's what mattered. I'd take her there again.

First of all, it was a great experience overall. Some tips: I had to ask for directions to get to restuaurant. It was not clearly marked that you had to take the escalator to first floor, and then wait on elevator attendant at a specific elevator. My reservation was there, but no one told me there were options about the food ( I did not ask either), as later I heard people asking, and apparantly there were "options".The food was good, no doubt, some of the strawberries had mildew( YES!) which we pointed out to the waitress. And some of the potatoes were undercooked. Again, no biggie, the rest of the food was great, the whole experience was great, as I took 3 teens there. I would definitely come back.

We visited NY for the weekend and it was recommended that we visit The View. The scenic view was fantastic however we were left slightly disappointed with the standard of the food served and we would have expected a much higher standard. The meal served was nice but we would not recommend The View for the food. When we asked for the bill we were asked if we would like service included. We were somewhat surprised when we received the bill that service of 18% was added on although this was probably down to our naivety.

The View is a fun restaurant for an occasion. Foodies should not go looking for a terrific meal. It isn't about the food. While watching the scenery through the rotating retaaurants widnows could give some people dizziness, when you don't focus on the windows, but only look up now and then, it is a delight to see the many beautiful NYC skyscrapers, and fun to realize you have moved yet again. The servers are charming and clearly accustomed to handling special occasion groups as they are light hearted, friendly and very accomodating. Getting in and out of the restaurant is a bit of a pain in the neck. You have to use a spacial elevator which seems to ake forever.

The portions were very small. The entree (red snapper) was boring - bad combination and the sauce was flavorless. Service was too fast. We had our appetizers and main course served within 30 minutes of arrival. We had told the waiter we were not going to the theatre (so there should have been no rush). Potatoes au gratin recipe was dissappointing...I had it the first time last year and it was memorable. This version was very different and not nearly as good. Selection of appetizers was limited, with ice cream being the third and final choice. This was my second time at the View and it will be my last.

Our dining experience at The View Restaurant was horrible! My husband & I went there expecting a romantic night out in NYC--this is far from what we received. First of all, the revolving room made me very nauseous (very unexpected to me). The ambience was not romantic AT ALL; there were many families & children surrounding us. Also, it was very brightly lit & loud as well. Then there was the food--which was HORRIBLE. I can't believe that there are so many negative things to be said about one restaurant, but it truly was a horrible dining experience. I ordered filet mignon to be cooked medium; it could not have been any more well-done. Our waitress was no where to be found the entire meal to boot. Please spare yourselves!!!

We had 5star service from Jay the waiter, just dampened by the seating ladies attitude. We booked our table several months before arriving in New York as we wanted to celebrate our anniversary in style. When we were seated i went back to the desk as i thought there was a mistake as we never had a window seat. Her manner was a little rude and not helpful at all - after making me feel stupid for not knowing you can not book a window table, She then said we could wait but over an hour if we wanted one which we decided not to do due to the booking being at 9pm. Before our first course came the near window table was then vacant up until we left at 11pm. Food, Waiting service (which really changed our minds on the evening)and views were amazing!

Service was terrible - Once she (Joellen) saw we had a voucher for our meals (provided by our travel package)we were treated horribly. Her comment was "What do you have there? You need the other menu." She took our order and never came back to see how we were doing or to see if we wanted any additional drinks - which we would have ordered if given the chance. We had to ask for our tab so we could leave. I have never been treated so badly before in any restaurant I've ever been to. Would never recommend or return.
